Ole's attitude is refreshing. Like few said, he still sees the club at the same level when he left.

Clearly Ole hasn't read the Caf's wisdom that it is in fact basically impossible to finish top 4, we can't win the CL and the season is 'practically over', despite having 20 games left in the PL with 8 points to make up.
It's better to say that no one expects him to get top four. Pressure is not what's needed right now.

Outside chance with 19 games to play? 6 points is nothing in this moment. Plus they come to OT
We have Spurs next. So it's quite possible the gap is bigger in two weeks. Think "outside chance" at this stage is apt.

The crazy little Norwegian might actually pull it off if this keeps up.

I think it'll be literally a point that separates us and Chelsea.

We'll almost certainly go above arsenal by the end of the month.

I said a few weeks ago you needed to win 7 in a row like Arsenal did earlier this season to get properly into things. You've won 4 and still 6 behind so that gives you scale of the task ahead.

Big chance of winning 6/7 however so with Arsenal and Chelsea playing each other I expect the gap down to 3-4 points in next few weeks.

With another nice run of games coming.....
aint going to lie i was one of those that said lets get in ole, cant lose, seasons over anyway. Never thought he could have turned us around to winning 4 on the bounce in no time. I knew the london clubs would lose points but i thought we would too but just with entertainment

Never forget that all the four games are winnable matches.

I put €10 on United for the title earlier in the season when we went to 100/1

Game on. Just need ole to win ALL matches and scousers to collapse. No pressure

Spurs away is a season-defining match, lose it and we're back to square one.

18 games or so left to play and people are writing us off
I think it's smart to just take 1 game at the time and see what happens. It's easy to be sceptical because the team hasn't been up to much for about six years now.

I'll take a draw at Spurs right now but a loss wouldn't be the end of the world. Lot of games to go and I'm sure that Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham will all drop points too.

Neither Arsenal or Chelsea have been very convincing this season.

It has to be said, Solskjaer has taken us from outside chance to disappointed of we don't.

Is the constant writing off of teams a fairly new thing, influenced by social media? Even my sensible football friends doubted that United had any chance to get back into the top 4, and we are only half way through the season!

It feels like loads of people on twitter/fb want to be the first to say things and as a result we get so much knee jerk media coverage, with teams apparently lurching from crisis to crisis. The sensible comments get buried in an avalanche of bullshit and gloating.

That Spurs game is a scary monster, win it or even possibly draw it and I’d believe it’s on, top 4 qualification, but I fear they might expose some of the naivety we’ve shown in our play of late. Hopefully some Ole magic happens and we do a “lads it’s spurs” then the hunt is on and honestly think Ole pulling off 4th from the brink would be more impressive than Jose’s Europa.

Am i missing something? Arent we after Chelsea? From what i understand beating Spurs just keeps our top 4 hopes realistic where losing could end it but it doesn't actually put us in a stronger position than we currently are. Now if we were to beat Chelsea then the gap will be down to 3 points

You are right, the spurs match means the same to us as Palace or Brighton. We won't catch them, so it's not a 6 pointer in that sense.

Because Chelsea and Arsenal will play against each other a week later. We can close the gap even further.

I said this before but sacking Mourinho earlier could have given us a very good chance of getting top 4. This squad is much better than Arsenal and Chelsea's, but we have to win almost all of our games because the previous manager threw a strop and stopped trying.

Why? Win v Spurs and we will have basically cut their lead from us in half from the Liverpool game.
Let's be realistic and not get carried away, we are very unlikely to catch spurs, nomattter what the result is at Wembley, the target is to finish above Chelsea and Arsenal. Let's not get too carried away.
