Welcome to Manchester reception committee
Too bad they roped old Alfredo into that quote... or he felt he needed to lift the pressure or something, but that headline is just wrong on so many levels. If anything he's the Puskás of the 21st century (although with the physique of a Pelé or Eusébio): a ruthless goalscorer with traction engines for legs.
I think its less to do with his style of play than his attitude. Di Stefano was supposed to be the one who always kept the fight alive, and who would lead the team when heads were dropping. He didn't like losing, but even more than that, he didn't like giving in.

The Di Stefano comments aren't a new thing, he's always seemed to like Ronaldo, not just in newspaper interviews. I was surprised at first, until I heard Valdano talking about Di Stefano. Something like: After a defeat, you really didn't want to get caught smiling by Di Stefano.

So I'm guessing he sees a bit if a kindred spirit in Ronaldo. Rather than the whiny, stroppy bugger that others complain about.

He's on 133 league goals out of 121 matches so far. Given he is like to score over 40 goals a season, it should see him break 200 by either next season or shortly into the one after.

7 goals in his last 6 Classicos. 10 goals this month. Ridiculous.

Happy Birthday to him anyway. He's played a huge part in our recent history and success on and off the field.

We all love United
He's out of contract in 2015 iirc. If he doesn't sign a new one, we can sign him on a pre-contract in January of that year if i am not wrong

How do people think his ability will be affected by age? His game definitely relies on his pace and strength, but then he hardly looks the sort whose physique and fitness are going to just vanish the second he turns 32.

Happy birthday to Bale deluxe edition.

Seriously though, what a player. 10 years since making his Utd debut!

He's technically excellent, but his real x-factor comes from his physical attributes. He appears to be well looked after though, and can see him maintaining a peak condition for a while yet.

Portuguese fans chanting 'Messi' when Ronaldo arrives in Portugal: http://youtu.be/CCsjUOlNJhw

Pretty sad if you ask me...

PS: I know this probably isn't the place to ask, but how on earth can I include youtube videos in my post? I used to be able to do so by using the youtube tags and the code from youtube, but that doesn't seem to work anymore for me. I've tried both the old and new code but I always end up with this which is annoying:

If you have the answer, please pm. Thanks!

It's funny that every time Ronaldo's name mentioned, they have to include "ex-Manchester United" title. In some way, he's still an ambassador for us out there.

This article shows how much he holds us in esteem. He says that Real have a better team than us (which, he admits, still has to be shown on the ptch), and that they're gonna kick us out of the champions league.

He says he's waited for - been looking forward to - a game against us for years.

He also mentions that SAF is a very important figure in world football and that he taught Ronny the basics of football.

So, showing respect, but telling us he thinks he'll stuff us.

Thanks for that link in Spanish. I wouldn't expect him to say any different from most players. Just like van Persie against Arsenal.

I just thought it' strange with Ronny and this 'ex-United' thing, as if they want people to remember that he's from United. Rarely heard of mentioning Xabi Alonso and Liverpool, Kaka and Milan; their former clubs seems like something in the past. van Persie has only been with us this season, but he's already associated with United.

I'm just glad it would pissed off some Ronny's haters :D

This'll be the first time I've watched him play hoping he does nothing since that England v Portugal game of 06!
