3-1 and just working through the line up predictor, its a great touch. Love being on Uni holidays, able to sit up through the night and watch the tour de france and will be keenly watching this game too.

I will definitely be watching this when I get home from work tonight! So happy United are back! I'm really hoping with a full pre-season under their belts that Shaw and Herrera can hit the ground running when the PL resumes. Big tour for zaha and lingard as I think one of them will be sold/ loaned out again (we've seen how loans can go either way and both really need to kick on from here if they have legitimate first team aspirations )
It will also be very interesting to see what LvG does with Fellaini over the next few games. To my mind he's not a United style player but he couldn't possibly be as bad as last season suggested either could he? He may have something to offer this year, you never know! All the players will have something to prove this season under a manager who won't be at all afraid to make the tough calls. I'm really excited for this season!!! This thread looks class by the way, kudos!!!

If anybody needs me ill be stalking the vidal thread waiting for fresh 'news' : |

Just noticed your location description, funny enough me and a few work pals were discussing that infamous feck up by Souness just the other week!

It was Souness though in fairness! Great player, meh pundit, bad manager! That was some stroke to be fair, it'd be impossible in the top flight these days.... ah to reminisce.....
Back on point I don't mind the result tonight, just hope the zombie slow motion passing dies!!!!

Can't wait for this! I think it's safe to assume that the formation we play tonight will be the formation we use all season. LVG will know exactly how he wants us to play, I don't think there will be any experimenting on different formations. It's not really important who starts to me, just how we set ourselves up. Obviously it's early days but hopefully we have a spring in our step if it's true that everyone is buzzing.

Ahhhh, it's 12:06 pm here. I'll have to find an internet cafe at lunch break to watch the match. Sucks to be honest

If I understand correct the match goes in replay at 11.00 Thursday morning at MUTV? Anyone that can confirm that? Don't feel like getting up at 5 :|

Hopefully my trusty river doesn't let me down! I think mutv is only really essential viewing during pre-season. I'll catch a couple of reserve/u 18s matches throughout the season as always but not enough to justify a subscription. I'm loving LvG in training... "aren't you not a defender?" to Jones during a left footed shooting drill : )
It's the polar opposite of last summer. Van Gaal is easily our most important signing. I think the players he puts his trust into are going to love him. I also think Rooney looks like he's enjoying it a lot (even though I'm not his biggest fan) A lot of these lads are still very good footballers, I think I was in the process of forgetting that after last season. Hurry up, football!!

Kinda surprised at all the 4-1 predictions. Galaxy isn't a world class team or anything, but they are match fit and in their season's full flow, whereas United are rusty and working in a new system, not to mention there's a good chance we'll play a few academy kids instead of a "on paper" strongest team.

Moyes's preseason was a disaster and it followed on through the season. I think it will be very different this time around. Don't think I've been this excited for a pre season friendly!

Agreed, those people will probably be disappointed. I see a scrappy sort of game and either a draw or a narrow United win. (Right beam of sunshine, I know.)

This will be my first game ever. Not just United, but my first football game I have ever attended, so excited!

Any songs I should try to learn in the next several hours?

I'm saying 1-1 or 2-1. Results shouldn't matter as long as there are positives that can be taken from the games on the tour. Let them get their match fitness back and LvG can try out a few new things and look at the players he wants to keep around. ....but saying that, a few of these lads will be playing for their future and all will be trying to impress ,so, I'd expect a certain level of intensity and competitiveness even though the matches are only friendlies.....

Have to be up for work at 5 anyway so i'll likely only see the first half, but i'll be a bit annoyed if i get up early and there's no decent rivers about.
