Lovely to see us passing the ball with purpose and conviction.Set-pieces have been a revelation too.

I'd like to see Tyler Blackett in the second half. And as much as I'd like to see Shaw come on, Young has been absolutely sensational.

Very good first half performance - so refreshing to see some movement off the ball and that first goal was just brilliant.

Thought Fletcher was our best player - controlled the game well and covering well in defence as well.

Fletcher looking a beast....it actually makes me think herrera the colosus would be hampered playing next to such an attacking midfielder as vidal............i will probable get slaughtered for saying this...but valencia and young as back up to rafael and shaw dont look bad..can understand van gals reluctance in teh market..................then again i never beleived the squad was half as bad as moyes tried to convince us

Rooney and Mata combo starting to hit it off a bit.
I'd say it should be Rooney, Mata, Welbeck. I see a lot of people downplaying Welbeck's importance in our link up play.

With every passing game the mystery as to how David Moyes ever got close to this club grows and grows. The 8th wonder of the world.
Every time England fail at the world cup - the players get blamed for not being technical enough.....But it's extremely obvious that too many dinosaur coaches in England are to blame...You'd think with the millions of pounds that the likes of Moyes and Hodgson get each year that they would actually try and study a little about modern football methods in their free time instead of insisting on rigid forms of 442 that were popular 20 years ago in England with small teams like Wimbeldon to grind out results against better teams

Unreal. But for Herrara all the guys were there last year-the play is unrecognizable. How many touches on the first goal-six or seven? Utter transformation.
Apparently 21

Wtf are people moaning at Zaha about ?

He's high risk high reward player right now but got into dangerous positions 3 times already.

Really good first half from us with a fantastic goal. Shame Danny picked up a knock as he was doing well. Only weak spot has been Valencia at RWB, really impressed with Michael Keane in such a big setting despite giving the penalty away.

Across the Universe....from Old Trafford.

exactly. The FA has no balls...so it picks managers who have no balls.

Never thought I'd say this so close to our worst season ever but, we're dominating Real Madrid! They're only really missing Ronaldo (arguably James) but we're missing RVP. I'm enjoying this
Are we missing RVP though? With Rooney in this form, will his return actually unbalance the first team, with no real pace in a front 3 of Rooney, him and Mata. I like DW being in there, adding his pace to the creativity offered by the other two (shame he got injured!). Will be interesting to see how that affects things, real shame LVG hasn't had the pre season games in the USA to figure that out.

Van Gaal making a mockery of the whole "time" argument.

In 3 weeks he's changed our formation and changed our passing and pressing game.

Can't wait to see what we'll be like in 3-4 months time when he's had more time to work with the players.

He helps improve our football, but Rooney and Van Persie are world class player. It will take a brave manager to drop one of them, just to improve our aesthetic apeal on the pitch.
Its not just the aesthetic apeal, he stretches the play which opens it up for the rest. Still it will be interesting to see what happens

The movement has been key. Our players aren't standing still and ball watching but actively moving into positions to recieve, making forward runs, and stretching the pitch. No zombie passing too. This is great.

Nice, good half from us. Passing the ball well and set pieces have been good. Fletcher has been really good, so far.

Can't really get excited about preseason friendlies but some of the movement is very encouraging. Real Madrid aren't really at the races.

Do worry that teams will have a lot of luck pressing our midfield two

Great pace, very good creativity. We're clearly pissing Madrid off which is delightful.

Everyone is playing well for the most part. Herrera made a couple of poor balls early on but perhaps he was uptight with the large crowd. He settled down and made a good account of himself. Rooney needs to be better and Valencia is showing absolutely no signs of changing under van Gaal's guidance, which is really unbelievable.

And people say we don't have a chance of top 4 with this current squad...
(not saying we should just give up transfer)

But Fletcher looks really promising in the whole tour, and he's dominating the first half today.

I can't wait to watch us against one of the new team.
Which one has the worst CB pairing?
You'd have to rule out QPR with Caulker/Rio, so Leicester or Burnley, which is perfect given we play them both early on :D

He's missed chances to pass the ball and has dribbled into defenders. Tbf, the're good defenders, but still, he's losing the ball.

Well most of the Caf thought it was the squad we lost our 3 most experince in defense and let we look 10 times better it's obvious it was Moyes and the crap he came out with I only started July 1st look what LVG has done after starting 15 days later, we look comfortable on the ball press well.
Going to be an exciting season Fletch as been class
