Kagawa is looking likely to be one of the guys sold. If he doesn't go this season then he probably would look to move in the next as Mata is going to stay ahead of him. Also, judging on last season, Adnan was the better player - he also wants to play as a number 10 so I think we'll get to see what he can do there this term as we aren't looking as likely to play 433/4231 as LvG clearly wants Mata/Rooney/van Persie as first choice in the same line-up.

If we play Kagawa twice as much as Januzaj in the hole then he leaves anyway, we just create a rift of possibly losing both of them IMO, along with halting Adnan's development at playing the position he wants to.

My opinion is that Adnan would accept playing second fiddle to Mata due to his age, while Kagawa would not and would look elsewhere for first-team football. But if Adnan is playing as third choice and getting much limited game-time in comparison with last season, then he might feel as though he has to move elsewhere and we'd probably have another Pogba situation (but at least not losing him on a free).
Kagawa looks like he is staying according to an article released on united website today. Why are people assuming that januzaj is going to automatically become world class? He has potential but that's it. (Luke chadwick had potential aswell). Kagawa will be used as a backup number 10 this season and maybe play a bit at number 8. Januzaj will play up top and as cover elsewhwere in midfield.

I'm not going that far, you're looking at it from the wrong perspective.

Kagawa will have to displace Mata to be in the first team. Something he is not going to do. He will then leave the club, in my opinion (most likely next season).

Januzaj might not see his future with United playing third choice for a year (or more if Kagawa actually does not go), because IMO he is going to be a number 10 as he isn't going to play as a striker in this side over Rooney, van Persie, Welbeck, Hernandez (if he stays) and probably even Wilson, Zaha, or Lingard as they are more suited to leading the line for me.

In terms of the clubs future, the future of our squad, the system we are playing... It is Januzaj who should probably get the nod. I have to imagine Kagawa will leave when he doesn't become first choice after three seasons with us when he was always first choice at Dortmund and could be first choice elsewhere.

To me, it is more suitable to keep the young player happy and let Kagawa go if he doesn't show more. Based off last season, Januzaj was better as well. I'd just be astounded if Kagawa is still here the season after this coming one.

Ah, yeah, fixing :)
Erm, do you realise you missed out Hummels, Vidal, Strootman, Cuadrado and Di Maria?

This discussion has been had many time before regarding Januzaj. This season is very important for the player and the club regarding the direction each are going. As stated, Januzaj is still very young and doesn't yet warrant getting in a team ahead of Rooney, RVP and Mata. However, I believe that Januzaj himself thinks he should be in any team, that is how confident he is in his ability.

I've gone on record saying that this year will determine whether or not he is a United player long term. If he gets bunches of minutes everything will be good, but if he is viewed as a "squad" player, everyone better get ready for him pushing for a move. There are plenty of CL teams that would gladly take him and put him directly in the squad.

That's not true anymore, though. He still obviously has potential to be massively better than he's yet been for us... but he was probably our second best outfield player last season, behind Rooney. And that wasn't potential, that was what he was actually doing on the pitch.

Absolutely, memories are short. Last season he was RedCafe player of the month twice. (As I recall, the only other outfield players who won it were Rooney and Welbeck.) So the RedCafe data show that Januzaj has already been playing at a higher level than Kagawa, and is not merely "potentially" better.

Exactly. As you say, memories seem to be incredibly short about him. Suddenly some posters have rewound to this time last year, when he still had it all to prove as a senior squad member, rather than having been consistently one of our best players for a whole season.

Wardrobe.
De Gea; Smalling--Evans--Blackett; Valencia--Fletcher--Herrera--Shaw; Mata; Welbeck--Rooney - 1st half

Lindegaard; Keane--Evans--Jones; Rafael--Cleverley--Fellaini--Young; Kagawa; Januzaj--van Persie - 2nd half

or Powell for Fellaini if he's fit enough.

The End?
I doubt Van Gaal will play two teams

We must play the line-up against Swansea in this match against Valencia
But the main problem with that is the Swansea match is so close to this match. Van Gaal might want to rest some of the first-teamers.

What the hell is this? You sound as if you wish failure on the boy. You have a personal grievance with him?

And here's another one. I just can't believe the way some of you football fans think and react. It's really shocking. You're almost wishing failure on the lad.

Some of the fans here are a disgrace, predicting our youngsters will have poor careers as if they actually want it to be true just so they can say "oh, I told you so" if the player somehow doesn't live up to expectations and slating others for wanting a youngster to be given some game time in a pre-season friendly ffs.

Cop on to yourselves and support the team. Januzaj was one of our standout performers last season and having watched him from his time in the u18s to the u21s to the 1st team it's very obvious that he's an immense talent, even the Scousers know this ffs. He's not better than Kagawa at this moment in time but he's still well up to Premier League standard and could very well be one of our standouts this season if we can find a place for him in the team, which I'm sure Van Gaal will if he impresses him enough. His potential is endless.

Wilson has massive potential too and while nobody is stating that he should be a first team starter, he should certainly take Hernandez' place in the team imo. I definitely think he's good enough to be a squad player for us atm.

EDIT: Only just noticed it was all the same guy. Probably just a WUM.

Yeah it's the same person. Was replying from my phone earlier so I couldn't get round to multiquote him. I find it outrageous for a United fan to wish for a United player to fail. It's sickening.

Where does he say that? Sounds to me @fordemonk feels Januzaj won't live up to the rather high expectations of many on here rather than what you're claiming. More along the lines of "he thinks he'll fail" rather than "he wants him to fail". Fwiw, I agree to a certain extent. Kagawa, at present, is a better #10 than Januzaj, and I do think the hype for Januzaj has reached unrealistic expectations. Januzaj doesn't defend well making it tough for him to play wingback, and he didn't play much as a #10 last season. I'm thinking it could be tough for him to get a run of games this year without Europe. He's only 19, give him some time.

Kagawa maybe better than this Janujaz lad but he's not really better than Januzaj is he?

Who is this? There's typos, and then there's just deliberately misspelling it every time.

I'm a big fan of Shinji too, but your posts are ridiculous. You love Kagawa that much that you have to put down a 19 year old. Januzaj was better last season get over it.
