edit your post ;) I think going after him would be a good idea - once Gomes' ban expires.
I have lot of transfer dealings to do once transfer ban expires in Oct. Club in AI mode bought lot of random players and I am stuck with them. Won't get much money from them but it will trim squad size a lot. Will go for a GK then.

Confirmed Transfers:

(26/94) - Robert Lewandowski - Bayern Munich
(26/90) - Sidney Sam - Schalke
(22/87) - Vincent Aboubakar - Porto
(22/87) - Josip Drmic - Bayer Leverkusen
(18/80) - Antonio Sanabria - AS Roma
(20/80) - Borges Wendell - Bayer Leverkusen
(21/80) - Cheick Doukoure - FC Metz
(21/77) - Joseph-Claude Gyau - Borussia Dortmund
(21/76) - Vladimir Rankovic - Hannover
(18/75) - David Kinsombi - Eintracht Frankfurt

Aboubakar finally moves and decides to join Porto. It's a pity because that means he'll be on the bench now as he won't displace Martinez in the first team.

Confirmed Transfers

Marcos Rojo - (24/88/90) - Manchester United
Romelu Lukaku - (21/90/91) - Everton
Enner Valencia (24/86/88) - West Ham
Alvaro Morata (21/87/89) - Juventus
Brendan Galloway (18/77/80) - Everton
Deandre Yedlin (21/82/84) - Tottenham
Britt Assombalonga - (21/80/83) - Nottingham Forest

Not a bad set of moves for me. Bolded the possible rating's I think they could achieve with productive seasons. Think Assombalonga will have a good season, already banging them in for Forest.

Manchester United sign Mensah

Manchester United are delighted to announce the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Mensah from Vitoria Guimaraes.

The 19-year-old has had a great breakthrough season so far, scoring three goals in two games and is currently the top scoring player in Primeira Liga.

Are we sorting a squad cap out? Some of the team sizes are ridiculous.

Teams over 50 players...

Darlington - 69
Arsenal - 78
Manchester United - 75
Reading - 70
Nottingham Forest - 78
Newcastle United - 53

That's an insane amount of players to be honest, no need for them all. I've got 40 and I think my squad is bloated.

I think a 50 player limit would be fair? Don't think they should be set limits on where players are though, so you can have many as you want on loan or in the first team etc.

I've already said that a squad limit needs to be done in conjunction with stadium sizes otherwise it just gives an advantage to the big clubs. If that happens, i'm all for it.

While looking through my squad to decide who to cut, one thing really stands out - my lack of quality forwards. Only really Messi, Lacazette, Martial and Azmoun worth keeping. Castaignos, Stepinski, Capello and Labidi are probably done for in my squad.

Would love to know what has happened to Zakarie Labidi though. On his transfermarkt page he's disappeared into nothing. No playing time at all last season in whatever league. Not even youth.

Fine with the 50 man limit but it should come into effect end of season so that the ones who have made long term buys can atleast break even on on the deal.

Im 6 over my personal limit. Always said I was happy with 47 max players. Some will leave in due course anyways.

Tough fixtures for me, Chelsea next. Got a draw out of out of Arse so not too bad

As someone said, these bloated squads might hamper league's further development and getting new people in. Now many of you have 45-50+ players, you won't want to sell them cheap and probably bought them early on reputation but neither can you player more than 20-22 over the course of season even with rotation, nor can you sell/loan all as you will not find buyers who will always meet your valuation. That is my take on my limited time playing this game. I can understand the reasoning behind buying as many youngsters as possible cheap and then playing with superstars in XI, but if we keep it similar to realistic club sizes, more players can play and it will actually be easier for everyone to buy/sell players.

Aye, or say for those over the limit, to sell up to 10 players each season to get towards reaching the limit.

For the players I'm selling, the likes of Oxford, Plymouth and Ipswich will have first dibs if they wish.

In that case, you will have to enforce a transfer ban i.e. the clubs cant sign anymore players until they are under the limit.

No, if the rules are being changed now, teams need to be given time to get their squads within the limits. A transfer ban is a penalty, for what offence?

After the season ends i.e. no ban for this season but if any squad is over the limit by the time of next season(or if we go with 10 players a season idea) then we should have a transfer ban in place.

I'm not going to be signing any more players. Club will be issuing a statement shortly about what United will personally be doing in the crusade to make a better league for all.

Dear all managers in The RedCafe League,

It is time for change. Since the league began in 2012, a select few clubs hoarded numerous players and it was to the detriment of the league.

In our heyday, we had the top three divisions full. Now? Just 32. This is a fantastic league, but it needs to be accessible to more, and driving people away in the manner that has been done so far isn’t going to do any good.

Manchester United are finished buying players for the foreseeable future and all at the club will now put our efforts towards trimming down the squad. We have a lot of quality players, and it just is not right that a lot of players are being kept to a select few teams, when they could be doing good elsewhere and played on a regular basis.

However, this is not a process that can be done overnight. On behalf of the club, I can say that we will be selling up to 10 players each season until we reach the target squad size of 50. Players that will be sold in the first wave include the likes of Luc Castaignos, Quincy Promes and Wilfried Zaha. AFC Bournemouth, Derby County and Oxford United have first dibs on these players and can lodge a bid right now if they wish. If they’re not interested, we will then open it up to the Division 2 teams to bid, and finally Division 1.

If we all pull together in this manner, we can create a better league. A more enjoyable league - especially for those in the current lower Divisions.

Yours sincerely,

Damien
