I already have a three months without posting bet with @gooDevil You can set the terms, am fine with doing money or with a ban.
Not interested in a cash bet, but how about:

You: Ban on all Liverpool related discussion from May-September.
Me: Ban on all transfer related discussion May-September.

If Southampton can keep this up to finish above liverpool, this could potentially mean finishing above us as well. I think the bubble will burst soon.

Done.

Nah, it's just my opinion but I feel that due to bad luck with decisions and atrocious luck with injuries we are in as bad a position as this tainted pool of players under a talented manager are going to be. I think once the games start to come a bit thicker, we will be in a steep upward trajectory.

Southampton have done what I think all clubs should do at all levels; built from the back. They're not where they are because of some freak scoring run or lucky wins. I expect them to fall away soon but they will be above midtable.

1. Chelsea
2. City
3. United
4. Arsenal
5. Southhampton
6. Swansea
7. Everton
8. Tottenham
9. Liverpool

Southampton have really tough fixtures coming up soon. We'll soon know if they are top 4 material. I think they have a decent shot, and they'll probably finish above Pool.

Really hoping we go after him in the summer. Such a good player.

Could be better.
He's a great player and would be an improvment however is it worth playing around 25 million for a small improvment when we could spend that 25 on a defender with would be a massive improvment?

I agree but do we need him? Blind, di Maria, Herrara, Carrick and Fellaini are more than enough CM options
Fellaini is still good for a job only in my opinion, next year Carrick will be that much older, his decline can't be far off, that leaves Blind (Defensive) Herrera (box to Box) and ADM (Attacking), can't play in a midfield 2. I wouldn't say we have any natural midfielders bar Herrera, Scheniderlin would replace Fletcher..

There's no reason we can't spend £25m on each.

Of course we need players like him. Ideally, we need another two midfielders. Carrick is approaching 34, Fletcher will most likely leave come next summer, and for all he has been good recently, I'd let go of Fellaini. They should be replaced by younger alternatives that carry some strength and power. Schneiderlin would make for a great alternative to Blind or Herrera, for example

For all the players you list are good, Herrera is the only one I'd label an all round midfielder. Players like Schneiderlin, and Strootman, would add some needed depth to the area.

Would I be right in saying he's similar to a Darren Fletcher of 5 years ago. I have not watched many games of his but I heard he's got 1 hell of an engine and is good defensively.

Don't get me wrong I'd like to sign Schneiderlin but only if it didn't mean playing di Maria out on the wing, which I think would happen. It would also mean dropping Blind or Herrara if di Maria didnt move to the wing. If we could afford him plus a couple of defenders and maybe a winger then I'd be all for it but I don't think we'll spend anywhere near what we did this summer so out of all of them I think a CM isn't as important as a couple of defenders.

About right. I see him like Nemanja Matic, someone who we could do with in our midfield.

If Blind or Herrera get dropped then so be it. The more competition the better. If we're to press ahead with the 433 then we need competitive options, to the extent that the replacements don't present any great drop in quality. Herrera, Schneiderlin, Di Maria, Blind, Carrick and Strootman would be an outstanding set of options, and in my opinion, getting a midfield unit as strong as that is more pressing than buying central defenders.

That is more to do with the faith I have still have in what we have at the back. If they can remain fit, and here my faith is admittedly threadbare, I think our options are good enough for the time being.

That's exactly the group of midfielders I hope we will have in the near future.

He's better than Blind and Fellaini and probably Carrick at this point too. You'll be in Europe next year (whether that's CL or Europa we'll see) so you'll need squad depth.

This. I really don't get why so many of our fans seem to be worried about the idea of having 6 options for 3 spots in midfield, it's what most top clubs aim for, the old Ark system.

I'd say this makes the most sense, assuming we sign at least one winger, Fellaini and Anderson leave and we play Di Maria through the middle.

CM's: (1) Di Maria (2) Herrera (3) Signing/Strootman (4) Rooney/Mata (5) Pereira/Pearson/Rothwell/Youth Signing

DM's: (1) Blind (2) Carrick

and then next year is Carrick's last as anything other than a squad player, and we sign a 2nd DM and he competes with/starts over Blind.

if we don't sign a feck off definitely starting winger then Di Maria will end up wide and another CM makes sense. All of this assumes we miraculously end up in 4th, of course.

I wouldn't mind dropping Blind, he is no Pirlo or Modric I think we need different class he is good but not brilliant. Herrera is different level and I know he is different player but with much higher potential. With Schneiderlin we have another options. We don't necessarily need to play with DM. We could play with two CMs Schnei-Herrera with Schneiderlin playing slightly deeper (I believe he could emulate Carrick) and Herrera little more advanced but both box to box intergchanging positions at times, with dimaria helping them as well from CAM. THIS trio would mean the hell of an engine in midfield.. We still need numbers there so I wouldn't be any pesimistic with quality players coming into club in position which was very weak for us for a long time

Just had a colossal game for Southampton, he is gonna leave Southampton in the summer and we should do all we can to beat Arsenal and Spurs to him IMO, he's very much what we are missing.

Classy player. He'd suit our midfield perfectly and I'd like to think he hasn't gone unnoticed.

Very good player, better than what we have. I'd prefer Veratti, if that's in any way possible. If not, then Schneiderlin would be a solid buy.

He's a top CM, by far Southampton's best player. He was similarly monstrous against us too.

Today it was 10 tackles and 9 interceptions. Thats the amount of ball won a whole team normally gets against Chelsea

He also made 10 more passes than any other teammate, 52 at 87.5% accuracy with 1 key pass

He is an all rounder, but in some ways its unfair to call him an all rounder because he's as good defensively as any other midfielder in the league. Its just that on top of that he's a good passer and gets a goal or two

He and Matic are the best DM's in the country, with Coquelin starting to look prietty good too.

I really do think we could do worse with buying Schneiderlin. He is great in a 2 man or 3 man, young and also not going to run off to spain after a few years. Would be ideal really.
