For all the stick Rodgers gets on here, he really has done a great job with that Liverpool side in the last few months. The change in formation has worked wonders, similar to the 3-5-2 we all hated at the start of the season, 3-4-3 has made them very hard to beat and allows Rodgers to fit his best attacking players into the same side. Very effective for them at the moment, and the likes of Can and Markovich are really starting to perform now. With Sturridge back, they barely even seem to miss Sterling (maybe Brenton is making a point, if you don't want to sign, we can carry on without you).

Obviously I hate Liverpool, but fair play to them.

Na, Sterling is injured. He and Rodgers have a great relationship so I don't think he'd do that. Sterling will sign eventually, the delay is all about money.

Yeah I get that, but I can't help thinking that Rodgers will be more than a little happy with how well they've done without Sterling in the side. He's the best young player in England at the moment (better than Kane, imo), but if you can drop him and still win games, it must surely give Sterling food-for-thought. He isn't indispensable to your side, is what I mean, and should probably think twice when considering his contract options.

Just put a bet on for them to finish top 4. I have an awful feeling these blameless cnuts are going to pull it out of the bag this season.
Still don't think they'll get top four. They have Us, Arsenal, Tottenham and Southampton to leapfrog. That's a very tough task. We'll know more after they play Southampton.

Yeap, he's recovered well as it looked at one stage he was going to get the boot.

They look a better team without Gerrard. I was hoping first Rodgers would continue using Gerrard as DM but then keep using Gerrard. Obviously the injury happened but hoping he recovers quick time

O'Rly? What gives you that idea? The fact we get outplayed in nearly every single premier league match we're in yet somehow manage to fluke a win? That might be what you're getting at. :wenger:

Don't understand why a coach gets plaudits for getting a team that was second to competing for CL places.

Haha, he's a dirty cnut our Markovic. I can see him getting even dirtier in the not so distant future when he brushes his shoulder against someone's back or blows in a players eyes.

Dirty bugger.

Can we revisit the Liverpool are going to do a Spurs and spend £100m on shite? Lallana, Moreno, Can, Markovic and Manquillo all look like good signings. Balotelli, Lovren and Lambert have ranged from poor to absolutely shocking, but the former two have shown positive signs in recent times.

The season has been up and down, but really the only disaster has been our Champions League campaign. We're still in with a brilliant chance at top four, perhaps even top three. We still have a Europa league campaign to come and we have a brilliant chance to win the FA Cup too.

I guess you have a 'brilliant' chance to win the FA Cup, but I don't see what's 'brilliant' about your chances at top 4, apart your recent form, which could very well subside with the extra Europa games. I don't think there's anything brilliant about those chances, especially after finishing second last year.

As for your signings, I'm not as convinced as you are, only Can and to a certain extent Lallana (but no surprise really from him, I'd say he's having a 'worst' season than last year but he was never going to turn to absolute shite) seem to be very good signings now, though most are youngsters from abroad, so in time maybe they'll come good. Like some Tottenham signings, for that matter.

Can is the only properly successful signing there. For the money he cost Lallana has been nothing special, likewise Markovic, Manquillo and Moreno still need to prove themselves.

Your top 4 chances are very slim I'd say. Arsenal will finish ahead of you and one of Spurs/United/Southampton should be able to stay ahead of you too. For FA Cup your chance is basically 30%.

Even if I'm seriously biased against Liverpool I'd say that's quite optimistic.

You have gone from champions elect last April with only three games to go to fighting for a top 4 finish.

I'd say we are favourites to win the FA Cup right now, especially if you win against Arsenal. As for our top four hopes: literally anything can happen in the next three months. We're obviously behind in points but are on the rise whereas United seems to keep on struggling, particularly away from home.

You have a good chance at winning the FA Cup certainly, but your chances of getting top four aren't brilliant at all. You're in great form, but you have a difficult fixture list in terms of opposition and fixture congestion coming up with the Europa League and FA Cup to also contend with.

Yep...United are not only a good amount of points ahead of Liverpool but also beat them 3-0 in the only game this season. Liverpool would be favourites then

Huh? Either Arsenal or United are out before we can play either.

Didn`t you have a brilliant chance of winning the league after beating City last year ? Gerrard seemed to think so in his post match huddle . There is a lot more football to play yet .

So? Any of these 3 teams could win it with equal probability and I'd give ten per cent of outside chance to the other teams.

You're kidding right? That game could've gone either way. I'm very confident we would beat you lot if we played each other right now. However, form can and most probably will be very different come the (semi-)final.

Yes, but if we beat Blackburn, our percentage will automatically increase because one of you will eliminate the other.

IF you beat Blackburn your chances will be around 40% probably depending on who you play. It's sort of normal that your chances will go up the longer you stay in the competition.

That's not how it works bookies don't set odds on this basis.

I know, and I know that our chances are all around 30% as well, but you can't deny we're currently in a better position than both United and Arsenal.

For the money you spent on Lallana and the contribution he's made that was a pretty shit signing. Can't really see any of those signings being amongst the 3-4 best at their positions in the league within a few years.

You simply can't tell whether they will be, Can and Markovic in particular. Had you ever heard of Diego Costa when he played for Vallecano three years ago? I don't think so.

Don't think any of your signings were really the right players you should have gone for really. Though Çan has looked good. Lallana is very meh and no better then what you have, same with markovic, and manquillo might not even stay long term as its only a loan for now... Both depth signings more then anything, though markovic is one for the future. Lambert is shite, balotelli is shite and lovren is shite.

None of them worry me really. What would be a great signing for pool would be if these Pjanic rumours turned out true. Apparently Roma are asking for £37m but he's a top class player and he probably would fit in there with his eye for a pass and sterling and Sturbridge in front. Could leave them a bit light in midfield though.
