Argentina are basically, Otamendi, Mascherano, Messi, and 8 passengers.

Terrible stuff.

Tata Martino bringing Aguero off and Higuain off was a disaster, how does he get the jobs he gets? He's hopeless.

chile was the best team at the tournament, deserved winners! Messi can only hope that Martino will be sacked before the next match....

terrible pass from Lavezzi. If there's anything wrong with Higuain shot, it is that he didn't try to cross it. Impossible angle.

Cue barca fans blaming martino and his formations. And then posting videos of them winning the treble

Cue arsenal fans saying 'hazard never won the copa America so Sanchez > hazard'

Higuaín is a scrote. Bottles every single big game.
Yep, he shouldn't have been on the field, Tevez would have wrapped up the chance in the 90th minute, it wouldn't have had to go to penalties.

Plus he wouldn't have missed his like that, I think terrible coaches have ruined Argentina.

You can have the best player in the world, arguably the GOAT, a solid defence, but if you select the wrong players around that, and have the wrong coaches, you just wont have enough.

I honestly don't see why Higuain is even in the Argentina team, I don't see why Tata or even Sabella, or Maradona for that matter were coaches.

I feel sad for players like Messi because the argument always is about his international career, yet he leads a team to two finals now. Playing in a team where the ball isnt given enough, the players just don't seem to make the right decisions around him and there seems to be no identity.

You'd have to say Chile played well, they defended solidly and broke up the game as much as possible.

If Higuain has anything going for him at all it's that he's not Colombian...

Terrible final, it seemed both had forgotten how to play. As expected, Chile's better midfield helped keep it level and controlled, but they lacked teeth. Deserved win nonetheless, they clearly wanted it more throughout the game. Congrats @George Owen

The moment Higuaín walked onto the pitch you knew he would repeat his WC Final performance, just never imagined he would do it so spectacularly. They really need to start getting shot of these big names who simply don't cut the mustard.

No di Maria, no party!

On a more serious note, Tata reminds me of Avram Grant. Some managers - well apart from being not that good - also just don't have the luck. They can take the team far but fail to get over the line. Both managers have lost at least 2 finals + league on the last day of the season.

People are bashing Higuain, but at least he stepped up. I mean, where the feck was Aguero and others?
what? Aguero worked his socks of when was on the pitch....its not his fault that they didnt create shit for him!

This match always looked like it was going to penalties, and as I felt in my gut, it was a 0-0 affair up until penalties. Surprisingly enough, both teams defended very well in this match for 119 minutes and 51 seconds.

Both teams going forward couldn't break down the defences. Chile were closed down very quickly, whilst Argentina were sloppy and poor in the final third. Once di Maria went off, I had the feeling that Argentina would get worse going forward, and it told as Messi was shut down quite easily, Pastore got worse on the ball in the second half, and Lavezzi was just poor when he was playing a more creative role. Higuain, as usual, bottled it on a big occasion. Both midfields were defensively solid, but going forward, both midfields were shut down quickly.

Congratulations to Chile and @George Owen for their first ever Copa America.
