There can be absolutely zero complaints about Schweinsteiger for £14m and £140k a week when we sign Schneiderlin as well.
Exactly, that's the essence of it. No special money gambled, no requirement for him to stay fit or be amazing or maintain form for four seasons or anything. He's a pure injection of quality with no pressure on his shoulders.

He's another trainer coach too like Carrick I'd imagine.

That article is so so stupid. And it will only lead rival and even united fans to think we got a player Bayern barely used anymore.

When he was fit he failed to dislodge Xabi Alonso from the defensive midfield holding role and continued to fall down Guardiola's pecking order.

In the end, he started only 15 of Bayern's 34 league games.
Former Liverpool midfielder Alonso did more than a capable job last season when Schweinsteiger was injured and when it came to a straight choice between the pair, Guardiola more often than not plumped for Alonso, who is three years older than his team-mate.
Funny thing is, in that same article there's a tweet that states Bastian has started all the key games for Bayern under Pep.

Jupp Heynckes today in Kicker:
Bastian was heart and soul of the team. There will not be another player like him at Bayern.

----------------

Herbert Hainer got awarded the Bavarian Sportsaward for innovation tonight for the mi coach ball. Asked if the sale of the Adidas kits for Bayern will go down no because of not selling any BS31 kits anymore he said that it probably was smart to sign Manchester United a couple of months ago...

Best transfer window in Manchester United history.

And to think the club is still in for a CB and striker too.

Same! It's really the combination of the two that I was most hyped for.
I feel like I'm dreaming

This was the Football Manager/Fifa kind of dream combination I was hoping for but thought would never actually happen in real life.

After keeping us up to date with his flight, he didn't tweet anything about the medical, neither did he inform us that Morgan was also there. Do not want, go back to Bavaria!

Plus I fail to see him as a defensive midfielder for United, I think that's Schneiderlin.

The reaction from Bayern fans on this one is wholly negative. They're fuming that Rummenigge/Pep sanctioned the moved all whilst 33 year old Xabi Alonso stays in place of a club legend. Although in fairness Rummy did say he asked for the move so it's not like it's his fault completely.

I'm not creaming myself until he signs on the dotted line.
Chill.

It's 2:30 on a Sunday night.

I've loads of work crap to drop on folk tomorrow morning that was done and dusted on Fri, Sat, Sun but it can wait till Tomorrow.

The press will prattle through the night but Woody, LVG or anybody in the the club able to confirm stuff will be tucked up in bed now.

From Brazil.
When I was watching the world cup last year, I used to play this game with a friend and we will count the number of times a play passed forward or just made the most effective pass. At the end of the quarter finals, he was so ahead that he could afford not to play another minute and still be ahead. I watch quite bit of games.

Have to admit Schweinsteiger is my most wanted midfielder for past 5 years... IMO he is the best all rounded midfielder, best leader and best winner we could only dream of. 30 years of age is not old for midfielder (Zidane broke world record fee at 29, Carrick is still our best midfielder at 34, Pirlo is still world class in his mid 30s etc)

If he gels with Schneiderlin the way he did with a somewhat similar midfielder in Martinez, we'll be a tough out in the CL knockouts. They were a wall against Barcelona under Heynckes. A mobile, intelligent wall. So, maybe not a wall. Anyways, they were great, with Martinez running around tackling people and Schweinsteiger doing a bit of that but also holding things down.
