I thought we were poor. Very fortunate to be ahead. Some of our players are shocking when pressed.

Um really worried with Rooney as our number one striker this season. Good half overall. Memphis was great to watch.
To be fair, he still looks capable of scoring goals, although his overall game needs a lot of improvement. Even if his game has declined though, hopefully our midfield will be able to compensate for it and still provide him with plenty of chances.

Probably. We severely lack incisiveness and quickness on attacks. By the time Rooneys taken a first touch the whole defence is back in position. Mata turns and passes wide too often and young just crosses.
I don't think Pedro can make passing from the likes of Rooney or Mata much quicker. They hesitate too much and often go for an easy sideways pass.

Looked solid, if uninspiring, after a dodgy first five minutes.

We are getting better at it under Van Gaal, no doubt about that BUT our players are still a fair way off Barca's in terms of how comfortable they are on the ball and how none of them panic. Jones sticks out like a sore thumb for example.

Rooney is so bloody frustrating. He's the only disappointment from our players this half. When the ball reaches Rooney in a good position, he holds everything back.
I haven't been too impressed with Depay, Jones, Schneiderlin, Rooney.

Think the RB, LB, Young done really well.

Midfield seems to have lost focus in last 15 minutes. Chasing Shadows.

Mata a passenger-no pace no contribution at all. Pereira deserves a go second half in his place

If we do sign Pedro he could fill Mata's position.

Positives: Darmian, Memphis and De Gea
Negatives: Shitting it everytime we are pressed, midfield doesn't look too impressive, reminiscent of the 09 and 11 finals

I'd like to see Mata switching with Depay. Mata's been a bit slow at times when he was in a good position
Yup, I agree with this, I also think Memphis can be a lot more dangerous for us out on the wings with his abilities.

Barcelona then were like me at FIFA playing the hardest level. I'm amazing but I can't score. Then somehow the opposition beat me and I can't prevent it.

No surprises Barca are better than us. Anyone that expects anything else is silly.

The goal is the only thing Rooney has done well at all pre season. Awful. Mata is useless in a game like this out wide. All our attacks need pace in a game like this.

Young Shaw and fair credit to Blind who I didn't want to play CB have been good.

I thought Darmian, Memphis and Shaw were our best players this half of football. Everyone else did well except for Rooney.

I thought Memphis was nothing special yet. Lost plenty of balls and is probably better suited out wide

Pretty good half overall. Memphis not really involved but the rest have been pretty good.

@Sam do you now see why we need schweini as well as schneiderlin.Carrick and Schneidi struggling now to take control. Schweini can give us that.

Darmian and Depay both look like players who could potentially challenge for signing of the season. Both seem determined to succeed and look good.

Rooney will improve the more he plays, always takes him 4-5 games to not have the first touch of a pub player.

Schneiderin had a bit of a shit game so far. Can't remember him being on the ball much at all. And when he was he gave it away.

We look alright, but to be honest this Barca team is a class above us even without Messi or Neymar. Every single one of their players is technically good on the ball, able to trap and pass, be calm and composed. They also work very hard and press very well. Neither Rooney or Memphis can hold the ball up. Mata won't put in the work, like the Barca counterparts do. Carrick has been our best player I reckon. Morgan has been working hard but not extremely effectively. Phil Jones is a liability and cannot pass to save his life. Thought Shaw and Young were industrious. Darmian really impresses and I think if we pair him with a more effective winger other than Mata it might work better. I feel like Mata should be playing behind Rooney and push Memphis out wide.

Some of our best attacking play has come through Mata...

You guys moan for the sake of moaning, positive first half after a difficult first 5 mins, we struggled in the last 10 mins when that damn helicopter was over the stadium!

He doesn't look too comfortable in tight spaces in the middle of the pitch. Agree that he'd probably look better out wide with more space.
