Yep.

The City game and tonight, married with our shameful displays, has tested my patience with LvG
Its just utterly depressing.

I'm watching City and Liverpool, and I'm thoroughly jealous of the football on display.

Shows how quickly things can be turned around with the right man in charge.

Feck all this "2-3 seasons" bullshit that Van Gaal has conned us into believing.

Agree, liverpool playing like this will heighten the pressure on LvG to start to get the team playing something resembling entertaining.

We have a far superior sqaud yet Klopp somehow has Liverpool playing such good football, it simply has to change.

Klopp quickly proving already why so many United fans were worried when they got him. And this is only after a few weeks and before he's even had a chance to make any signings.

He's a top class manager, and will have Liverpool fighting it out in the top 4 without a doubt. Absolutely gutted they have a better manager then us.
Looking at the way his signings are now performing at Dortmund (Auba, Kagawa, Ginter, Mkhitaryan) is even more concerning, considering the prices they paid for them under him while Rodgers drained far more on a lot worse.

He's simply a top quality manager.

It really is depressing how much of an impact he's had with such a poor squad. Imagine how they'll do when he's got a summer to bring transfers in?

Beating City, Chelsea and Southampton away, scoring 12 goals and conceding just 3 in those games is quite incredible.

has you thinking does it not?

even so I felt in the second half of last season we dominated and played some sublime football. Why fix something that was not broken.
Because he lacks he lacks any form of judgment. He has a fixed pre-determined formula, and he sticks with it despite anything that is happening on the pitch. We play well with a 4-3-3? He's still going to feck around with it, so it's gone back to his preferred 4-2-3-1 even if it doesn't suit the players at the club.

Smalling is our best defender? He's still going to feck around with him, just to play the CBs he prefers. Herrera is one of our best performers second half of last season, yet found himself out of the team because he just doesn't fit into LVG's idea of football. He's simply incapable of adjusting and making do to get the very best out of what he has.

Makes me fecking despise Van Gaal and his philosophy bullshit. Didn't take long for Klopp, Koeman (before) and co to make their marks

Anyone remember the last time we scored 5 under LVG? No?...Thats because we haven't.

Its taken Klopp just over a month to do something LVG hasn't managed in a year and a half.

Koeman with Southampton last season. Watford this season have signed 15 players and look great. Klopp has improved Liverpool in a month.

This is why I don't understand what LVG is trying to do. Other managers do it with lesser players and more turnover. Van Gaal I thought actually cracked it finally last season for about 4 games before he decided to try and outsmart himself again and cock it all up

54% possession, 6 shots on target. Van Gaal should have a look

I repeat:

Encouraging skill and freedom of play will more often than not have majority ball possession as your team gets comfortable with their ability. Drags opponents away, creates space, incisive movement and chances are there Case in point with Klopp's turnover, Arsenal, City.

Forcing a rigid passing style to try and lull the opponent in theory sounds good but in practice is easy to play against. There's nothing to defend against. Swansea played like this in their first prem season and then evolved with better quality of players.

Why are we subject to this philosophy then?

I mean he's decent and what not, but he's shit at substituting full-backs... So I'm not worried.

"Can Manchester United score? They always score"
i've always maintained that superior managers can get that much more from their players. Klopp is one of the top 5 in the game (regardless of any caf revisionism, he was the one we wanted after Moyes)

i still hope he flops, but that looks more futile bt the day. Of course they'll be bumps along the way when this thread will be bumped to proclaim how he is overrated, but deep down, we all pool have struck gold here.

Our next manager needs to be world class too.

Because we hired Van Gaal, if we want something differnt we'll have to hire someone else.

Has to be one of Guardiola or Ancelotti. We're complete fecking idiots, if we pass up on either one of them if they're available for another season of Van Gaal.

VG thinks we have to have messi or Neymar to play the football of the standard to get far. Imagine what klopp could achieve with mata Rooney martial depay, bet depay would be an improved player under klopp

Everyone including SAF knew they finally got a very good manager. And tbh I have seen Liverpool play such pressing and passing football before. He is not doing anything magical. Both City and Southampton played into his hands. Extremely naive.

I bet none of them (With the exception if Martial) would excel under Klopp. His extreme pressing system will show them all lacking and he would replace them.

The reason why Liverpool have adapted so well to it is because Rodgers (When they came 2nd) had them playing at a similar intensity and the other players have played in similar systems.
