I am not completely happy with Maureen. His record with the youth academy is appalling.

However the man is a winner, he knows the EPL probably more than anybody else in EPL and jeez he will be seeking blood after what happened to him at Chelsea

Dick Advocaat will be seeking blood as wel, they have a similar record this year.

Hell yes, BBC I trust. It's happening, see you in July Jose. Now bring in Greizmann, Zlatan on a two year deal and Stones and we are ready.

1) he sold quality young players like Lukaku, De Bruyne and others leaving Chelsea with a worse squad

2) he had less shots and shots and targets than LVG

3) he assaults others and assaults referees.
Not everyone is perfect in the heat of the moment. He is winner, and wants to win at all costs. He is very controversial, I'll give you that, but then again so was Cantona. He assaulted a fan. People make mistakes and learn from them, so I doubt he'd be pinching anyone's ear again anytime soon.

Think it's a poor decision but not exactly an unexpected one.

He wanked all day long when we hired Moyes, and enjoyed the football under him. Seriously Summit, haven't you ever read his posts before?

The only way he's gonna make peace with Mourinho is if Mourinho signs the footballer who was inspiration to Pele, Cruyff and Maradona: Danny Goat Welbeck.
David Moyes, Danny Welbeck! Who is this madman!

We have had produced three good squad players in the last 15 years, anyway. While letting Pogba, Rossi and Pique go for peanuts.

I tend to gloss over his posts tbh mate cause of his tagline. I was just wondering in here why he was upset about this, so asked.

This happened, which probably brought the board back to planet earth

Or Giggs was never in the frame and everybody got hysterical over a throwaway LVG comment?
Personally i think Giggs has something about him. He went from a flying winger to a scheming midfielder. You dont make that transition unless you have tactical nous.

Don't be ridiculous. Not even SAF would have been able to save his own job once those pack of mercenaries decided to want him out

He probably regrets that he sold Lukaku, but for De Bruyne, they were stacked in attacking midfield, and he came back from loan and wasn't going to get regular games. Made sense to let him go at the time, and they got a decent fee. Nobody said it was that stupid at the time really.

No he didn't, the only teams who have less shots and shots on target then we do this season are West Brom, Newcastle, Villa, Sunderland, Norwich and Stoke.

Yeah the poking eyes thing was way out of hand obviously. As was Fergie kicking a boot at Beckhams face but just like Fergie regretted doing that, I'm sure Mou regrets the occasional lash out that happens in such a high stakes situation.

1) Not giving youth a chance.
Only managed clubs where the priority was instant success, didn't really have the need for planning too far in the future. Anyway, Van Gaal has given more chances to young players then any manager ever would. Look how well he's done. If a player is good enough, they'll force their way through. The only thing that will stop is mediocre youth team players being given chances just because they're youth players.
He had the biggest chance he will ever have in his entire career to bleed in youth this season when virtually every senior figure underperformed at Chelsea but he still didn't do it. The man is allergic to youth football.

Good news if true, I think whether some fans like it or not, United and Jose need each other right now and it makes sense. Giggs being given the job would be a risk we simply aren't in the position to take right now, Mourinho is the man to fix this I think. We need to get back to being a dominant force asap and that is far more likely to happen with Jose in command of the ship. Let's just hope he respects the clubs traditions and sorts the negative aspects of his attitude out.

If this happens, lets forget players like Borthwick Jackson or Lingard getting an opportunity and say hello to buying 28 year olds, mortgaging the future and loaning the likes of Januzaj, Memphis etc before selling them and then watching them succeed at some other club. We'll win a couple trophies, sure but within 3 years the whole squad would be emotionally and physically drained with no youth to refurbish the weathered veterans.

As Jean-Luc used to say..."Make it so!"

This has got to happen. I actually think that the United appointment would mellow Jose a bit. Clubs like Chelsea and Real are just riddled with vitriol and not very nice people whereas United would provide Jose with a more positive and fulfilling experience. I just couldn't see him doing and getting away with the crap he has done over the years if he were at United. The more I think about it the more perfect the fit.

It's the only way forward. Chelsea can have Pellers and the Gooners can get the Tinkerman or the other way round...I don't care! Jose is used to the PL and I still believe that Pep will be in for a shock. I would love it if he ended up being the next van Gaal.

They're already talking about an 8-player shopping list. I can't see any other manager who would have the rival draw to compete with the Man City 'project' and get the right players in. Whatever reservations the board has about Mourinho, I just hope they look at the bigger picture and realise that for the good of the club and to keep the noisy neighbours in check, it really is the only way forward. It's great that Mourinho's chomping at the bit....he will have so much to prove. Boy if that came off, next season could be epic!

He's the best option available, and in the position we're in that's exactly what we need, so I'm happy about this.

I doubt very many managers would turn to youth with that Chelsea side. Rightly or wrongly everyone advocates 'experience' to get them out of those sorts of messes.

It is widely assumed the most obvious alternative to Mourinho is Ryan Giggs, Van Gaal's assistant.
Whatever you say, Dan Roan & Simon Stone (sounds like a shitty badminton team at the Olympics).

United will deny it within a day, but they're so transparent that nobody will listen.

Had a worse season than lvg. Never seen champions fall so low a following season under the same manager

Serious questions over where his head is at right now

Treated his staff like shite and threw his players under the bus

Is a cnut

Will be a terrible day and perhaps my worst day as a Utd fan if/when he gets the job

I would take Giggs and even give David Moyes another shot before Jose.

Pep might need to get used to seeing this kind of thing again. :p

Very pleased with this news. When the Beeb's running the story you know its been sourced several times over. This is happening people.

Jose Mourinho: The one manager to take on Pep for a league title and win, with his team scoring 121 league goals in the process, is coming to United.

Even for just a short term impact I think it's the right move, we can't carry on languishing the way have been for much longer. And he also has a big point to prove so the timing is appropriate.

Who racial abused him. I think he was right to give the racist prat a kicking. Gouging the eye of an opposing team coach is completely different.
