Everyone's thinking it. I'll say it.

Jurgen Klopp is a top manager. Maybe he's not the best around, and maybe he fecks up from time to time - but he's still world class. He brings so many things to that Liverpool team that we wish we had in us right now - passion, energy, belief, tempo, goals and desire. He brings the best out of his players (they're not even his players yet at 'Pool - see what he's doing with them) and has them all playing with more than just professionalism. Yeah, he's cringeworthy at times, but we'd all be drooling over him if he were with us. He unites them as a club, makes the fans proud - in both loss and defeat. And he's entertaining.

If only he were at United. If only we'd gotten him. If only he was taking our subpar squad (we're still a way better squad than Liverpool, and we know it) and have us challenging on all fronts while keeping fans on their toes and full of passion. Instead he went to our rivals, and is having them play attacking never say die football, the way we'd like it here. He went to fecking Liverpool, and he's making them look amazing while we rot with stupidity and boring football and 'philosophy' of our Dutch idiot. He's looking like such a good move for them, I'm sick with envy, and have started hating him. I hate Liverpool even more now - those stupid cnuts who glorified the likes of vampire Suarez, and Stevie-fecking-me and I'm-a-world-class-whore Sterling and every shit player who plays for them. They don't deserve Klopp, but they have him and are going to be fecking smug and all-high and noble again and wank to his brilliance pulling that shit squad to CL places.

I hope they fecking lose to one of the Spanish clubs. I hope they go out with a whimper and Klopp gets blamed and that they rot outside Europe next season. I hope Klopp fails miserably there.
I am fecking sick of him with all those YAWN singing feckers now. He shouldn't have fecking gone to Liverpool, and yes - right now I'm so fecking bitter about it.
I won't even get started with Guardiola at City next season - spending oil money in the billions on players we want next summer.

Both our rivals in semi-finals in Europe - and Ed still won't sack LVG for making us the shitties, most boring, and most underperforming team in the league with bad decision after bad decison. Winning the FA cup won't be neough to solve the mess we're in. feck you, Woody.

To be fair with that performance they deserve to go on and win it.

Getting bitter only makes us as bad as they or City were when we were winning everything.

We should stay proud and hope that some of our decision makers were watching and that the penny finally drops.

7 th isn't close to that but the EL came through the cup and they had to play in the playoff matches to enter it..
I thought UEFA changed it ahead of last season, so that the runner-up in the cups doesn't qualify anymore? Pretty sure that 7th place gave them the EL spot and if they had finished 8th, they wouldn't have played in Europe this season.

Ironically they were 3-0 down after 20 minutes in that playoff before coming back and winning 3-4.

7th in the Bundesliga = EL 3rd quali round
The cup had nothing to do with it.

Masterstroke sacking Brentan for this guy.
Easily the biggest upgrade this season, and most people here knew it. Winning the Europa League and (more importantly) qualifying for the Champions League with this squad in not even his first full season is beyond my worst expectations though - he going to make them a huge threat whilst he's there. I think I fear him more than Pep spending Mansour's money.

We need to find a way to get him committed or something, and quick :nervous:

Everyone knows Klopp is a top manager.

Just wait until the end of the season and see what happens.

@Balu Would you consider him to be the best active German manager? Low obviously has his accomplishments, but national team coaching heavily differs from club coaching in many aspects. There are some promising managers in the Bundesliga, Tuchel obviously being one of them, but as of right now, I couldn't name one who would be better than Klopp, not that he doesn't have his obvious flaws.

Credit has to go to Liverpool board too. They saw the opportunity and appointed Klopp as soon as possible, didn't kept Rodgers on just because he led them to second place.

If only our board was so proactive and keen on the future success of our club......

Never mind, I can get a packet of Mr Spud crisps, official crisp sponsor of Manchester United, to fill the void left by good football

He may not be a serial winner and may not go to any length on or off the pitch to win like Jose, but if our fans wanted someone with passion whose team plays fast and exciting football, someone who gives young players a chance, someone who wouldn't need a gazillion pounds every window, someone who makes the sum greater than the parts, someone who would have respected the traditions and culture of the club - then there aren't many better than Klopp out there. Shame that he has gone to Liverpool; he would have been absolutely perfect for us.

I think it's Pep & Simeone as the top tier now. Then everyone else.
Jose had 6 terrible months, but that's it.

He has still made it to more UCL semi-finals than Guardiola, Sir Alex and even Carlo. Only Carlo has won more UCL titles than him either.

He's still very much in the top tier . Just like Sir Alex was still in the top tier in 2005 when everyone was writing him off, ironically because of the emergence of Jose into the English game.

Spot on mate. The timing of it didn't work out for us in terms of hiring Klopp but man if he were only with us. The guy inspires his troops to fight, run and never give up. FFS they were down 2-0 and 3-1 last night and came back. You think LVG would have given any inspiring half time speech? Can only hope that Ed and the board have the balls to actually admit failure and go for Jose. The Fenway group honestly hasn't been anything special as an ownership group but boy have they gotten the Rodgers firing and Klopp hiring right.

They sit in 8th place in the league and beat an overrated Dortmund team to reach the semi final if the Europa League where they will have to actually face one of the best sides in the competition, not the imagined one.

Despite the impressive comeback and exciting game, can we actually wait until they achieve something tangible before Klopp is hailed as a footballing God?

I would add that he's having a 'Benitez effect', without actually producing anything tangible yet. Also Benitez still managed to struggle to win the PL and UCL despite having a better team with Gerrard, Torres and Xabi Alonso. He may not be a flop but the second season will be far more telling.

I think Klopp's great and couldn't believe the board didn't go in for him considering Klopp was Sir Alex's second choice for his replacement. I love his style of football and he is an entertaining (if insincere) character.

He could easily do great things with Liverpool. The idea that he's making then look amazing at the moment, based on two games against his former club, is absolutely absurd. He's picked up less points than Bournemouth since he joined.

It's the same every time they win a game. Yes he's a very decent manager and last night was a very good comeback, but Liverpool always go on a late season run which inspires the boom bust cycle to begin again.

Dortmund were naive last night, failed to consolidate at 3-1 and instead chose to play high up the pitch leaving loads of room for Liverpool's creative players to exploit.

The atmosphere & a Dortmund team having it too easy for a long time, LFC scoring at ALL the most opportune times, a Dortmund team seeming to lack size, belief & application in defence, in the last 5 mins esp. Klopp feeds in to the hysteria & off of the hysteria & they work hard pressing (even Firmino & Coutinho). But still looks like an absolute tool in his look-at-me white tracky. (grapes ARE still rather tarty this morning). Still games to play before they win a 6th Big Cup & overtake our 20 y'know...

Problems at Utd are not ALL about the Manager, have you seen the state of our MF?

That is something that really needs to be addressed this Summer but I'm encouraged by the development of TFM, he looks like a future DM

Alternatively, if they beat Everton, then they will have picked up 2 points more than United with a far worse goalie who has cost them many points. I reckon that they would have at least 60 points by now if they had DDG. They missed also key players like Coutinho, Henderson, Sturrige for siginificant parts of the season. Add to that the difficulties resulting from changing the style of play and implementing new ideas in the course of the season and the poor results start to look pretty normal given the circumstances.

So, I agree that his results in the league haven't been good but it seems that they have significantly improved over the last 2 months. Their cup runs are very impressive though and might be suggestive for what is coming next season. Only time will tell etc.

You went into the season with arguably the best midfield on paper. LVG bears a fair amount of responsibility there too.

Some People have been saying he is not any better than Rodgers. It is true that they are still very inconsistent and a bit short of Quality on some positions.
However, Kloppo`s thumbprint has already been visible after a few games. 3 new Players in the summer and they will be up there.

Like some of you have already mentioned we should have more Quality. Except on maybe 2 or 3 positions we have the better Players.

I think Henderson being out will help rather than hinder them. He's an awful player. Stevie G Lite. Basically none of Gerrard's best qualities and all of his shooting into the crowd and failed Hollywood passes.

Can is another very average player that I hope they don't replace in the summer with a proper midfielder.

We've had worse injury problems than them tbf. Much, much worse actually plus we've got a manager who is absolutely unable to motivate his players.

 Feck sake, proper meltdown.

Suddenly he's making us look amazing? I take it you didn't see out performance against Soton a couple of weeks ago. Although our points haul doesn't suggest it, there here has been a lot of improvement since he joined us but we're far from amazing. The reactions on here when we play a good game or defeat a quality side are way over the top - some of you are so afraid of him making us a powerhouse again that it's starting to look silly.

I'm not sure we had much worse injury problems. Two of their players had as bad injuries as Shaw and will return after the end of the season, key CBs were not available for months, Henderson and Sturrige missed big parts of the season, Coutinho wasn't avaiable at least 5-6 weeks over the course of the season or maybe even more, any of their strikers was injured at some point, etc.

Fergie said he was "very worried" (or words to that effect) about Klopp taking over at Liverpool, well maybe we all should be now. Without sounding hyperbolic, maybe they might just get back on that effing perch Fergie knocked them off all those years ago. They haven't actually won anything yet, but some more performances like last night and they might actually turn into a top team again. I would be surprised now if they didn't win the Europa, after the way they came back last night and looking at the other teams left in the tournament.
They have been pretty inconsistent over the season, but if Klopp brings in his own players over the next few windows, they might start progressing into a top 4 team again.

He brings energy, speed and excitement to their play unlike LVG's slow lethargic zombie football.

He's a very good manager, but one of the best? I don't think so, still has a lot more to prove and is a tier below the likes of Pep, Ancelotti, Mourinho etc.

I've been mentally preparing for this for a while now

Everyone's thinking it. I'll say it.

Jurgen Klopp is a top manager. Maybe he's not the best around, and maybe he fecks up from time to time - but he's still world class. He brings so many things to that Liverpool team that we wish we had in us right now - passion, energy, belief, tempo, goals and desire. He brings the best out of his players (they're not even his players yet at 'Pool - see what he's doing with them) and has them all playing with more than just professionalism. Yeah, he's cringeworthy at times, but we'd all be drooling over him if he were with us. He unites them as a club, makes the fans proud - in both victory and defeat.

Amazing? Their form is still patchy, don't be surprised if this post gets bumped over time.

some of you are so afraid of him making us a powerhouse again that it's starting to look silly.
It is embarrassing.

I think Klopp will continue to struggle in the PL just like LVG has because when you have a philosophy a lot of English sides, especially the weaker ones, just adapt a style to specifically counter that. Last night you saw two teams staying true to their (similar) style, great to watch but not the smartest approach from either side.

We have struggled under LVG against the lesser sides because they just sit in against us and look for the 1-0 win. LVG's considered approach play means we just end up passing it around the edge of the opponents box all game when those teams sit in against us.

I think it's less fear of you becoming a powerhouse than frustration that he isn't our manager. Some people are huge fans of him here and search for every way to validate their frustrations. He's a great manager, but he has flaws as well.
