If the deal is completed, the club will be announcing it unless he jumps the gun like Memphis. I don't think he will announce it today.

Maybe he's just using us to get a lot of interest from the media to promote his clothing line and won't sign at all!

"Today, I am announcing that my new club will be announced after Euro 2016. However if you go online and buy my new apparel with the code "I'DDIEFORJOSE", i'll still tell you after the euros" This press conference is over." "insert house/techno music"

My hope is that he walks out in the United kit and then denies everything.

"Here we see Zlatan sporting his own design. A rain-jacket with a special Zlatan-plastic bag to protect the head."
Hoodie not big enough to cover his massive head.

So SSN jumped the gun then and we are no further than before their 'imminent signing' announcement?

No chance he's announcing a move to United today. Perhaps if he was signing for City...

Actually, I'm not convinced he's coming at all. I love Zlatan, but it seems to me that he's using us for publicity and that any 'leak' is just his camp looking to use our name.

Its a funny old game
Surely he's still under contract with PSG until July 1. So I would guess he can't sign for United or anyone until then. Therefore he is using us to promote his wife's clothing firm

For 30 years we have all accepted that noone is bigger than United - then we do our best to sign the only player in the world who is convinced he is bigger than United. Kinda ironic :)

Quite an interesting piece on the guardian site about this range and his career so far. Doesn't like Pep...at all.

The Jose/Mou/United vs Pep/City is mouthwatering.

Like how he told a young player to tell his mom that he trained with him? He had to train with young squad due to some discipline action?

Like how he worked out so well with the best manager of the world in barcelona full with super stars and young players etc?

Idk, I haven't seen or read enough of him. Surely if he has that in him, we would be hear more about it before rather than now since he has been in so many clubs and old enough?
Former city, celtic and current Celta Vigo forward John Guidetti;
"I think he knows the Manchester weather like I do," Guidetti said. "He will settle - anywhere he has gone, he has performed.

"He is a world-class player and is a world-class person. Any team that gets him should be very grateful.

"He is fantastic - the way he speaks with the younger players, the way he demands quality. It is a true pleasure to play with him.

"There'll never be another Zlatan - he's a one-off. The way he talked and behaved has inspired me."

Jose somehow won the CL with Porto and Inter, Pep with the all conquing Barca side but failed with the then current CL champions Bayern easily the then most powerful/best team in europe... despite 3 semi finals, lost 5-0 to Real, lost 5-3 to barca and Atletico did an Inter on them this year, in a tie they should of won they basicly crumbled. You really think Pep is the better manager, his achievement was better? I would argue he failed at Bayern, that they went backwards under him.

Relax people. He told a Swedish journo that he will give an update/announce his next club today. Perhaps he could be lying but it's what he said, just wait and see.

Also, several of his Swedish team mates have said they know where he is going. The secret can't be kept for too long. I think we will find out today.

Almost get the sense he has unfinished business with Guardiola and would to get one over on him. Not that I'd imagine he feels he has anything to prove.

When Inter won the Serie A, Ibrahimovic offered watches to everyone, teammates and staff.

Sanctity, like a cat, abhors filth.
I cant remember another transfer that has dragged on like this one but I was so supremely relaxed about it. Partly because, while I am excited about him coming, the disappointment if he doesnt come will not be crippling - given what a short term signing he is, and that I think his impact will be a little more modest than some do. If he doesnt come it means we will get someone else and I have no doubt we will bring in quality one way or the other.

But more than that, given the Mourinho factor, I just believe he is coming. And so whether its confirmed now or next week or next month doesnt actually bother me that much.

Mourinho has also had failures, it remains to be seen who is better, they are both great managers. Here is to hoping Mourinho comes out on top in this next chapter

I can't imagine the club will allow the player to announce his arrival, we will have to have announced it on Twitter first me thinks, today is probably all about his clothing line

He said there will be "news throughout the day," which may inply that the club breaks it today as well. We'll just have to wait and see. Sure he may just do it for publicity, of course.

Patrick Ekwall. He even said he would give him the exclusive before anyone else.
If there is one journalist in the world he would troll it would be Ekwall. Remember "you smell bad"?

But yeah, let's hope for the best

Lewandowski's deal was sorted in the January of 2014 prior to his summer arrival.

Matip's deal to Liverpool was similar.

He won't be paid by or officially be registered as a player of a new club until July 1st, but can essentially talk to and sign for who he wants.

Yeah I know but Ekwall has been really sucking it up to him lately. And TV4 are arguably our biggest network, so it would make some sense.

He can sign in the last 6 months of his contract.

Apparently Guidetti has a bit of a bad attitude as well, so if he is coming out with that about Ibrahimovic then he really must make a big difference to youngster's attitude.

You have some info on him form Celtic? Or was it just the Ronny effect, who seemed a bit clueless to be fair.

I wish humanity would get over the weather. In some countries, they would kill for Manchesters climate. It's so immature and out of touch for it to be a consideration ultimately. I know some will disagree but whatever.

It started at Feyenoord with Koeman, I don't know what he did though.
