While I really want us to sign Pogba, part of me wants Saturday to come with no news.

The meltdown will be on another level.
Yes, 60 pages of about 15 people having histrionics in an incredibly predictable and banal way will be excellent entertainment.

I hate clips. Its difficult to translate them and there's a small chance that some of my thoughts may end up mixed with what is actually being said. I apologise in advance if that happens. You might spot a mistake or two on the way.

"We're at the end of this deal, between Mino Raiola, Man United and Juventus. We knew that Pogba was probably going to United for weeks. In June there was interest from Real but even than Mou wanted him at all cost. At one time the deal was stalled because the clubs havent agreed yet on whose going to pay Mino. Juventus position was always the same. They want 115m for the player. United relented and had decided to pay Raiola's fee themselves. There's still a small detail ie that 5% on his image rights which are owned by companies who have helped develop Pogba throughout the past years

Zidane has said that until 31st august there's still hope. However he's as deluded as Gary Neville going into management at Valencia because by the end of the week United are aiming to close the deal and give Mou a great gift.

Why would you have a medical in the US? That's really weird.
We have facilities at Carrington, we don't need to do medicals in Miami, Boston, Madrid or wherever... but alright, if we do that, I will be surprised.
To sign off on the deal and leave him to enjoy the rest of his holidays?

How can Sissoko or Verratti possibly be alternatives to each other? I mean, I know Sissoko had a few good games at the Euros, but come on
I only ever saw him get the ball, run at defenders and lose the ball every time. It was good he was trying to do something, but I could go out there and try to be as good as Messi. If Real actually sign him because they couldn't afford Pogba it would be pretty funny.

Yet they can't afford the exceptional talent of Pogba?
I don't think they deem him necessary at the moment. Their need in midfield is more defensively orientated, and Verratti would fit that to a tee.

How old is Modric now? Look them go full stop for Verratti as his replacement when Modric starts to feel his age.

Ridiculous amount really. How much would Roy Keane cost today?
Something similar I'd wager, given he held the UK transfer record at the time and the EPL is the equivalent of Serie A as the richest league now.

Everyone was of course saying "4 million for Keane, what would Bobby Charlton cost now?" at the time.

Poor Madrid, they are so used to having their transfer targets kick up a fuss for them and force a move while they can just waltz in and sign them. They really weren't used to the fact that Pogba actually chose us, and then stayed silent while letting his agent do all the work for him.
I don't think the board there really want him. Zidane does. Let's face it, if Pogba's name was Pogbanito or if he was Spanish/South American they'd have gone all out to sign him. Just last year Iker Cassillas' agent Santos Marquez claimed that Perez 'does not like' black players but also insisted that he's not racist.

According to "Sport Mediaset" he'll do his medical in Miami today :D
Saw this on twitter earlier, not sure how true it is but would make sense as it fits into the 48 hour timeline

I assume medical today and fly over to Manchester tomorrow to sign contract.

Who was the last black player of African or Caribbean descent to play for Real? I honestly don't know. That bloke who went to Everton maybe

Edit: Royston Drenthe?

When they truly want one of exceptional talent like Neymar, Suarez, Bale, Ronaldo etc. they always find the money.
Except all those were selling clubs except maybe us. PSG isnt a selling club. Even if Barca were willing to offer £100m, thats like pocket money for those guys. Whats there incentive to sell? They are also building a team to win the Champions League, so why would they strengthen a rival? And Verratti's contract isnt an issue either. He still has 4 years to run.

Appreciate it, thanks!

Is here even a need for him to fly in to sign the contract? get one of the Glazers to pose next to him in Miami.
