All it takes is one game for some to get nervous. Ok they look good but they lost to Burnley just 2 weeks ago.
Even if they win next 2 it still means nothing.
They have a good shout for top 4 but lets relax now guys. Don't act like they're Barcelona or something.

They are genuine contenders for top 4 and maybe even more. Once they go on a run, we will start sweating. If everything goes for them and i mean really everything, they can fight for the league, like that one season. They dont have much pressure, their players look better than i have seen them the last years and they just have the league as the major competition. They work as a team. If they win the next 2 games against lesser opposition, it could get funny
I tend to agree. Missing out on the Europa League may turn out to be huge for them. Their lack of depth will be less relevant without European competition and Klopp's style will work better with players that don't have tired legs from playing midweek.

I still think their defense is relatively poor and that they will have trouble consistently getting three points against teams that park the bus. But they are a legitimate threat for top four and have an outside shot at contending for the league if they stay healthy, players hit form, and they get some luck along the way.

Thought Wijnaldum was very good tonight. He is subtle rather than eye catching, his shielding and feints in midfield were very important for our possession.

Indeed. We've already beaten them four nil ;)

Klopp has got them sorted and without European football I'd be stunned if they didn't finish in the top 2 and make one of the cup finals.

Other teams have got to combat his pressing style but by the time they do they tend to find themselves 1 or 2 goals down.

They won't be in the top 4. They started with a bang but will fallout eventually

I don't think so. The distraction of Europe will cost other teams. Klopp has a week to work on most games.
They will do well in games especially against city. But their high pressing itself will be their downfall at the end.

Meh, not too worried. This is what small to medium sized clubs does, raise their games against better opposition and then fade away.

(please bite, anyone)

It can't be sustained throughout an entire season in England

Fairy nuff.

Let's see though as its never been tried before

Ps. My feet are still on the ground but I must say Iam chuffed with the London points and twatting Leicester.

Burnley ? For some reason Iam least surprised at that than the other results.

With no midweek football, I wouldn't be so sure. Besides, they didn't play a lot of high pressing in the 2nd half, and looked mostly good nevertheless. They can let the ball circulate pretty well, better than Chelsea could.
Top4 is definitely in reach for them

First teams will learn to counter it slowly. Secondly even now around 70 mins they looks so tired. Their strategy is to score 2-3 in that time span and defend well after that. I don't think they have enough strength in depth to keep the pressing style working in the second half of the season.

City vs Liverpool will be the best match this season though

Fair Play to Liverpool, 7 points away from home against Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea! I doubt another team will pick that up this season.

They look a real threat for top 4, can't see them challenging City but everybody else is up for grabs.

Top 4 is going to be a dog fight.

You're style can be sustained throughout the season, you have no European football to worry about.

Arsenal finished ahead of LFC last season.
Arsenal are ahead of LFC this season.
And you think LFC are a better team? :houllier:
By that reasoning, Stoke are the best team in the league?

Sorry man, I couldn't resist...we all have brain spasms from time to time.
By the end of the season though, we shall know just how had the better season, but IMO AFC are far better.
we shall see my friend

You strategically removed my white text there.

But no, wouldn't want those yellow gnawers anywhere near.

2/10, would not bang

Looking in good shape.

Burnley aside, I'd say us and City have played the best football in the league thus far.

Very dangerous side and not to be underestimated. They are scoring lots of goals which always gives you a chance to win games and like Leicester, if they can go injury free they might be the dark horse of the season.

Great set of results from the the fixtures they've had so far. Look miles ahead of us.
