I honestly couldn't care less. We got to 6 straight CL semi finals and got f**ked quite a few times by bad luck (and some ref cheating). That crop of players deserved to win the CL. Only thing that would have made it even better in my eyes is if we'd knocked Liverpool out on our way to knocking Barcelona out and going on to win it.
Knocking out Arsenal's Invincibles only to have Raneiri feck up a 2-0 lead at home that would have seen us knock out Monaco and go to the final.
Beating Ronaldinho and Barca at that team's peak and also beating Bayern only to go out to a ghost Liverpool goal.
Going out again on shit luck to penalties against Liverpool.
Finally beating Liverpool, getting to the final, one kick away from lifting the trophy only to have our captain slip on the fecking kick. What are the odds?
We come roaring back the next year again, determined to make up for Moscow, only to have Barca do a ref job on us.
Took another 3 years for us to get another real chance. You think I care about the kind of football we played while winning it? All the "pleasing" football we played for the neutrals got us absolutely nothing
I hear you but we represented the Premier League brilliantly in Europe all those years and deserved a trophy and indeed it's sitting in our trophy room right now so it doesn't matter how you see it.
