He knew exactly how to win them over. Maybe that was just him or maybe there was more to it, but walking around the city speaking to people and taking selfies, having digs at United, constantly being in the media with something to do with their history or dislike for The Sun etc.
Not knocking him for it as there's nothing wrong with any of those things, and he might've purely been doing it out of niceness, but I said at the time I wonder if it's to secure his job for longer if it starts going wrong, because we all know the scouse contingent holds some sway.
Not to mention they thought they'd won the lottery with him going to them.

Liverpool's fatigue they've built up over the first 5 months of the season isn't something that can go away once it's set in.
Getting through the whole season was never feasible to begin with. The suggestion they would be fine with their 100mph style this season due to no European football was a fallacy from the start.
Similarly, they aren't suddenly going to be okay now that they've only got one game a week for the rest of the season. The intensity they played at for the first half of the season has killed them, and it's something that can only be recovered with a long summer break, not seven days between games.

I've said this before, possibly in this thread, but their support has had a problem since Benitez was in charge. Hodgson notwithstanding, they deify their managers before they've even done anything for them. It's one thing to support a new manager, but they go to extremes and it means any rational criticism of whoever's in charge is drowned out by the hordes screaming about how the glory days are just around the corner.
Benitez, despite doing bugger all for the best part of 5 years was lauded as the best manager in the world, and treated as a martyr that had fallen on his sword to oust the pernicious owners. Hodgson got the immediate backlash to that and was unfortunate in the timing of when he got the job, and after being given no money to spend on improving a mid-table squad was sacked and replaced with Dalglish, and thus the deification started again. The King had returned to take Liverpool back to the top. That didn't quite pan out so the brightest and best young manager in world football was brought in with fresh ideas and a new outlook, but that didn't work either, so now they're with Klopp, who again is the world's best manager, motivator and all-round top guy, and that'll last until the next poor sod takes the job and he's put on a pedestal.

I still get a chuckle out of @Dumbstar 's posts about being happy they've been knocked out of every cup so they can stay fresh for the league. So that, next year, they can compete in even more competitions.
This fortnight or so off has done wonders for them whilst we've collected a trophy in the same time. That's 1 more trophy than Liverpool have won in a decade or so.

Just seen he is new ceo, odd move. I suppose going from one of the worst companies to one of the worst football clubs isn't that odd of a move afterall lol.
