You know the market has gone crazy when a £70m bid has been turned down for a player I've never heard of.

We rarely loan players and we definitely do not loan players if they are not established talents. Falcao, Larsson, Tevez. If Mourinho wanted him he would buy him because that would mean he is 100% a United player, rather than in loan limbo which see players not getting the trust and chances afforded to others.

Anyway he's not very good and Bayern would be laughing if they got €47 million euro for him. Managing to make a profit on a complete flop because he hasn't even gotten close to any of the additional clauses. Horrible business by any buying club.

Agreed. He's simply not good enough and his adjustment to PL would be a risk we can't afford.

Its not a written rule, Given the inflation in this market, United have to get schrewed in the transfer policy and Be more proactive in the market rather than reactive. If Pogba gets injured We would loose all the passing range in the midfeild he brings in. That's where Someone like him can come in Or even in herrera's Place, This is an era of doing intelligent transfer buisness to stay on top rather than paying big bucks for every player Every freakin time.

A Loan deal is a perfect deal to test the abilities and effectiveness of a player before you actually spend big on him. Like a Trial. You can always choose not to buy if it does not work out.

Also Bayern play a more Posession based philosophy with the midfeilders instructed to pass the ball sidewards and backwards rather than vertical and use the free passing range which a club like United with the mourinho philosophy does often. Its a know fact certain players suit certain philosophies so it must just be a case of sanches not suiting the bayern philosophy. It does not mean the player is a Flop.

Not so long ago we were the front runners for doing that buisness ourselves, So A loan move is intelligent and schrewed buisness than complete transfer for a unproved yet talented player.

He's supposed to be a top talent. Liverpool making the right moves sadly.

He is the best player they could possibly buy imo. Really hope Leipzig won't sell and I don't think they will.

I'm just amazed that Pool have a clear run on him.

Has a release clause that gets triggered next summer. 50mil odd iirc
Think it's £48m or €55m yeah, that's why we really need to buy him now because if we wait till next year he's Bayern bound. I'm pretty surprised we're the only team really interested and that he seemingly desperately wants to join us, but would be fecking delighted if we got him. Top top player and possibility for a lot of growth at 22. Improved offer is supposed to be £65m and only Rangnick seems to be an obstacle right now.

Something big will be in the pipeline. We won't go into the season with the no.7 and no.10 shirts both vacant, let's put it that way.
Perisic for 7

Agreed. He'd be a great signing unfortunately.

Yeah, he's quality and will get better. There aren't many squads he wouldn't get into tbh, will be a big coup for you lot.

Signing players like Sanchez or Keita will either convert Herrera to a sub or to a direct DMF, because both 2 youngsters won't love the idea of being a sub, Keita can play in any other club as a starter and Sanchez won't leave Bayern because of not playing to be a sub here again. I'm not a fan of turning Herrera to a DMF completely unless we're bringing top class b2b player.

We currently don't need both, we can bring a bench player if we're willing to chop Fellaini which is unlikely.

I agree but I'd rather pay £100m for Keita than £50m for Sigurdsson or Perisic tbh.
No one paid anything for Perisic or Sigurdsson yet, not us nor Everton.

Clubs can ask what the want. Inter can ask 200m for Perisic, doesn't mean a club will pay that.

It wasn't a dig ffs - Swansea and Inter have valued them at £50m though and I simply said that if my club was buying someone, I'd rather have Keita for £100m than one of them for £50m. Whether he has 1 season in a big league under his belt or 5 is irrelevant to me.

Are there not other CM out there who you could sign with more top league experience? I like Keita but it seems like a big risk, could have just had a purple season.

Leipzig have a lot of money though, any other German club bar Rbl or Bayern would have sold the player by now.

I don't know enough about him but if that's true he's certainly not the only one.
Overall the market is extremely inflated this year. Many big clubs are probably sitting on the sidelines waiting for prices to stabilize a bit before jumping in this winter and next summer.

Reds 'on alert for Ivan Rakitic'
A new name in the frame.

United have been linked with defensive midfield targets Eric Dier, Nemanja Matic and Fabinho this summer without getting a deal done.

Now Spanish media have thrown the name of Barcelona’s Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic into the mix.

Barca are reportedly willing to sell in order to move for PSG’s to sell Marco Verratti.

He is expected to cost around £75m and Don Balon says the Catalan giants will need to sell Rakitic to finance a swoop, leaving United and AC Milan as potential destinations for him.

Don't know and I have to admit I haven't seen more than 5-6 games from RBL in full last season. He's clearly very talented though and looks exactly the type of player we need, although I think we also need a true, pure DM which Keita is not, but looks like Klopp is satisfied with Henderson for that role.
