Chuffed with that 3pts and scoreline, but we didn't really deserve a 4-0 win - it seemed destined to finish 1-0 and it would have been a fair result. Fairplay though, we took our chances late on. Onto the next one, our goal difference looks superb so far when you look at 3rd place and down.

4-0 after 35 minutes was what the score should have been, in the end we got there, but not entirely sure if anyone knows how we did it?

For starters not taking our chances and persisting with players like Mata and Lingard and to a lesser degree Fellaini which equates to being one dimenaional and slow.

Also, same issues with our defence in particular left back.
So you are unhappy with the personnel. I agree on that front that Fellaini, although a useful player in certain situations shouldn't be starting a game like this. But, he is only there because our costlies player is out injured and he is a squad option.

Left back, again our record purchase is injured so we have to play Darmian/Blind and Young today.

What I find surprising is that you are complaining after a 4-0 win against Everton, specially when the personnel won't change before next season at least. Are you going to be like this for whole of this season?

Everton played with 5 at the back and 2 defensive midfielders. They were scared to lose by a bigger margin. United were sluggish for most of the game.

Lukaku had a wide open chance in the first half

Lukaku was free in the box but had a poor touch that wasted it in the second half

Lingard skied over a chance he should have put away

Not to mention, we had so many chances in the counter attack but Miki and Rashford's decision-making left lots to be desired.

And then there was the 4 goals we scored.

We earned that shit.

Pretty poor performance given how average Everton are at the moment. The three quick goals later on flattered us. Mkhitarian and especially Rahsford were big disappointments before we had a good 10 mins.

Very happy with the win of course.

We were very poor. Did not even look like a Prem League quality match. Lots of misplaced passes and dodgy defending. Last few minutes were Ok, but overall this was another disappointing performance from us. We can't play like this against Liverpool (when we play them next month). It might end up being embarrassing for us if we do.

Given that Liverpool have more holes than Spongebob, and hopefully we can count on our players for better finishing, I reckon we can smash them 3-0.

For first 30 mins we were easily 2 levels above them, then in last 15 same. They did raise their game but the game should have been over in first 30 with atleast us being 2-0 up and playing on the counter. On to burton now.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
Arguably scoreline flatters us but TV saying Everton were unlucky is garbage. They didn't score and we scored four good goals (no deflections, no 'offside' goals, no dodgy penalties).... you don't get points for effort. As someone once said "goals win matches".

Glad that at 1-0 and 2-0, we kept going forwards. That used to be the norm (pre Moyes) and a lot of fans said Mourinho will be defensive/cautious and not play the United Way. Attacking has to be controlled and dependant on the opposition/circumstances but glad we didn't just sit on a 1-0 - I always thought one of the attributes of the great teams of the last 20 years was we looked to win by as many as possible.... good mentality and sends a message.

It's all about points at the moment. Poor performance, good result. I'll manage that tbh.

I watched from about 70 mins as I was at a (shit) game of rugby. My brother informed me we'd done well early on and should have been home and dry, but Everton did better second half and we had to ride our luck a little bit. Then I saw us get the second and we romped home in the end.

Souness makes no bones about his dislike for United but I think he was right in his post match comments that DDG should take big credit from this game. OK none of the saves he made were world class but having had little to do he stood up to be counted when he was exposed at 1-0. Had Everton taken one of their chances we could have had a very frustrating end to this one.

However overall a good win. It's telling how much more clinical we are being this season compared to last year, when patchy performances saw us fairly punished on many occasions. When we've been unquestionably the better side this season we've let our opposition know about it. Pleasing.

Also Tony V . I wish he'd take chances like this a little bit more as he obviously has a sweet strike on him.

Very surprised we won 4-0 in the end as I was concerned for a long time that we were letting Everton back in. Thankfully it wasn't the case, and I'm loving these last 10 minute goal flurries. Great to see Lukaku and Martial continue scoring and I personally was pleased to see Mkhitaryan open his account for this season too. Roll on the next game.

Absurd score line after a poor game for us. It's encouraging that we have so much firepower but for large parts of the game this result wasn't exactly on the cards and Everton looked like they might take points off us. We need a lot of improvement, but for now I'll happily take the three points and savour those ruthless final 10 minutes, which is turning into a bit of a trademark for us looking at all three 4-0 wins this season. Long may it continue!

Why all the Lingard hate? He missed a half chance in the box, won free kicks, def flick for Rom's goal, great movement and link up before Martial's PK, should have been awarded a PK himself when Williams came across his body in the box.
Ligard played well.
This forum has a fashion. They hate Fellaini, even if he plays well. But they love Shaw, even though his united career has been an unmitigated disaster.

Performances are decent apart from being too clumsy in the final third. Matic was bossing the midfield. We look like we can up the gears at any minute but for too long we are wasteful.

Great start, surprisingly strong finish, but a very ordinary middle hour, where we managed to make an average team look dangerous.
In the end, the result was more than the performance deserved, but how many times did we say the opposite to that last season. With other results falling for us, that was a big win

Re-watch the game up to the 20min mark, then switch to the 80min mark. Just take it that we took our foot off the pedal after going 4-0 up and saw out the remaining 60min in 1st gear. It's the same result but you should feel much better about the game watching it this way.

The consolation is this hate filled agenda have no way of reaching Mourinho who will continue to play these two players whenever he thinks fit.

Good performance, not a great one but that's ok. Started the game really well and had them penned back. Fantastic goal from Valencia and Lukaku should have killed the game off.
Unfortunately, we lost our way a little bit after the restart and Everton were playing well. Rooney caused us all sorts of problems which forced De Gea into a couple of good saves. They were also winning the 50 50s which was really annoying.
But I felt the introduction of Lingard and Herrera helped us to solidate. We started to put them under pressure again and fortunately got our second.

Probably didn't deserve a 4 0 win but am very happy nonetheless.

Tony V with a billion to one shot! Those go sky high almost every time, should arguably be a law against even attempting them

Oh and we need Martial in a decent form or our wings are barren wastelands.

A team that were desperate for points. A team with an ex player will a major point to prove. Of course they were going to up their game, and they did exactly that. But guess what? we still won 4-0, and there's lunatics on here still not happy.

The main thing for me was that Herrera showed his usefulness when a lot of fans were already doubting his value. After he came in, we controlled the game.

They may have been desperate for points and Wayne may have felt he had a point to prove; but it was our apathy for an hour, rather than their quality, that got them back into the game.
There will be moments in every game where the opposition will be dominant, but we handed them the initiative today, rather than them working for it and that was frustrating. When we have teams on the ropes, we have to be more ruthless and put them away; then we can start relaxing, not before.

Thank you! Nail hit on the head.

Fellaini won me around a while back, limited as he is there is no question he provides another outlet for play, puts 100% in the games he plays, and always shows his passion to the supporters even when they've booed him in the past.

I want Shaw to succeed but he's done little of note since his arrival, had his attitude questioned by two managers, dodgy fitness issues (yes, I know he had a broken leg as well). Yet a lot of fans on here yell blasphemy if you call him out on these issues.

Amidst squeaky bums.
A lot to be said for winning and winning well when not playing well.

Don't think Matic-Fellaini is a viable midfield partnership, in a two at least. We only looked properly balanced when Herrera came on.

Its funny, last year we play bad and we draw or lose, this year we pkay bad and win 4-0. Its happened twice now. Champions win regardless of performance so id happily take 10 more games like that! Last year we would of drew that game.

Lukaku misses too many easy chances for me. Hes scoring still which is great! Martial should be starting ahead of rashford. Miki got into great spaces but his touch and decisions let him down. Fellaini was average as usual. Matic was brilliant as usual valencia his usual self, good stuff. Defence was solid and mata okay. For me motm was young. Solid game, defended well and attacked well. Would be very happy for him to keep the left spot! He has a drive and passion darmian and blind both dont have. Shaw is too fragile, i feel as if words and grass shatter him
