All he had to do was aim a bit to the right. Top save by Ederson, but 9/10 a striker would be scoring that.

He just has a powerful shot in him. He never looks to see where the GK is before shooting.

I said it last week and I'll say it again. He'll never be anything other than a "stop gap" for me. Give him 2 years while we wait for someone truly world class to become available. His first touch is atrocious, goes missing in big games, and a footballing brain and creativity are things that are developed at an early age.

From the sound of the mains, I thought he'd shanked it well-wide before my river got to it. It was a decent shot albeit straight at Ederson's throat. I think we're basically nit-picking that one because he's been quite ineffective all game - City's defence has been awesome at doubling up on all our attackers.

Decent shot? That was terrible

His performance genuinely angers me. I mean, I am a tad high, so that might play a part.

But come on! Hold up play? Nope. Defending well? Nah, I'll gift them a goal or two. Surely you can finish? I'm just gonna miss from point blank range now.

Missed his chance vs Liverpool too. It would matter less if the rest of the game was better I suppose. The problem is that Rashford and Martial genuinely look better footballers than him.

The biggest problem he has is central striker is such an essential position on the pitch, a place where he can't hide and every single mistake is amplified.

Even if he's not in goalscoring form, he has to bring a lot more to the table in these games than we've seen.

It's now to a point where questions can be asked of why he's getting all the game time in the position when we've 3 other players who could have their chances to make something of it.

Don't wish anything on the lad, but he's got to justify being a starting striker for a club like Manchester United in games like this and he's falling a long way short.

I feel bad for him. He’s well out of form, could do with a rest to get his head straight.

Maybe his run coincided with a fixture list of more straightforward teams that built his confidence up. Maybe he struggled against a team or two and his confidence has gone. Maybe it’s a confidence issue right now.

Some of his misses this season have been atrocious though.

He's a very good player that is out of form. We need a world class striker though.
It's amazing how many supposedly very good players we constantly have out of form. Imagine if all our very good players were in form, we'd be unstoppable.

Or possibly they aren't very good players in the first place.

I wouldn’t blame him for that miss. He did pretty much everything right - stayed on side, great connection, on target.
Yip, not an easy chance and the ball was a bit behind him. He did what he could with it. The rest of his play has been shocking and he looks like he has no confidence left.

£75 mill rising to £90 for this up front. Limits the potential of the team when a key player is so flawed.

City have not been that good today either.
That's the annoying thing about this game - City are there for the taking. Makes things more frustrating than if they'd just hammered us.

Ibrahimovic missed tons of chances like that all of last year especially the big games. Stop acting like this has never happened.

I know it's the nativity season and they've got Jesus but the donkey impression today was totally uncalled for.
