You may be right but the fact hes 29 and you dont know whats in his and his agents head doesnt make you right. Fergie tried to sign him years ago but he didnt want to come.
Okay I coincide that. None of us know either way. I'm just saying that there good reasons why a player could choose either way. Saying it's only because of money is daft. Not seeing the potential allure of your own club is equally daft. It's not like we're Stoke City. Perhaps I could have phrased it better.

Sunday Supplement lot all think he’s off to City still.

Really weird situation its like City have never spent a penny in the transfer market the way people talk about them whilst United are the big bad club spending money to win trophies...fecking bizarre.

Pep’s been there 18 months and spent over £400m ffs.

No one's won the league back to back in ten years and people have already decided that next year's title is won as well. Madness.
Chelsea looked just as dominant last year, they look much worse this time around. I don’t think city will fall off as much but they’re relying on Silva and De Bruyne a lot this year. Once their form tails off it wont be so easy.

I agree with your sentiment. We would like them to want to come because we are Utd, and perhaps we did attract some because we were doing well in the Fergie era, and we were Utd. We are just 2 or 3 key players away from getting back to some sort of form and hopefully consistancy similar to Fergies team I think. Sanchez would certainly improve us

I can not for the life of me see City having as good a season next year, or even close. UNLESS Pep spends a pretty penny in the summer and buys 5 more WC players, which isn't out of the question.

Bizarre indeed.

There's still a lot of ABU-ism out there. People love the fact that United have fallen from their perch and enjoy sticking the boot in while they're down. They're so bitter and twisted that they'll even ignore the blatantly obvious and endorse an abhorrent dictatorship to do it. Pathetic really.

Imagine if United had been bought out by the Sheikhs and started spending money like City have. There'd be national protests, questions in Parliament and it would be mentioned in the press every day.

Thankfully we've actually got history and we don't need to go down that route.

I hope he signs for Utd for a couple of reasons.. one obviously being he’d improve our side without a doubt. The second is that it would piss off every so called “expert” whose tongue is firmly up Peps rectum.. it would prove that the journalists in this country know next to feck all and it would also send City fans in to a meltdown of epic proportions.. please let it happen.

The big difference is that (as our own manager alluded to) City have outspent everyone else and show little sign of needing to stop doing so. Whereas Chelsea had a rather backwards transfer window following their PL win. That's been a big problem for them, especially given that (unlike City) they won the league on a very thin squad untroubled by CL demands.

I disagree to some extent. I'm sure Sanchez is leaving Arsenal because he has no belief in their ability to win a major trophy.
If that's the case he'll join city.
He's guaranteed a PL trophy and a good shot of the CL.

If he joins United it's money.

While United are out of the running for the PL, would anyone put it past Mourinho to win the FA Cup and / or CL? The latter, in particular, is difficult but far stranger things have happened. It’s funny how the media narrative paints United out as some sort of barren wasteland when it comes to winning trophies.
We're going to win the CL. As I've said a few times on here. We play and beat Bayern in the final.

Their entire identity is based on fecking money!

If it wasn't for the oil money they'd probably be in the Championship now.

While that’s partly true their main issue is losing costa. He dug them out of so many games and while morata has done well he’s not Costa. Last season they also had a real injury free year which was freak.

City have had the luck on their side, so many last minute goals which in another year wouldn’t happen. City should be 5-6 points ahead imo.

Of course we could.

Unfortunately so could City, which makes it a rather moot point in regards to Sanchez picking us over them.

I will be interested to see how attractive City are as a club without Pep.

So many transfers is ‘he want to play for Pep’ not Manchester City. That seems to be their only lure is their manager.

My feelings are I understand why Sanchez would go to City. However he surely can’t feel any sense of achievement if he went there and won the league. Plus the fact there is no guarantee he will start. I imagine this would be an issue because that was the reason he left Barcelona.

We need him more than City. He can have the number 7. We can offer the same wages. There is a chance to win trophies as much as there is at City even though some supporters think their isn’t. I would be amazed if City blitz the league again next season like they have this year, a lot of the league seem to have already given up this season.

I hope he joins us, get this one, over and done with. No point dragging it on until deadline day in my opinion.

Sanchez is using us to get a better deal at City, but City are not having it.

They’ll agree eventually.

It’s wrote by Neil Ashton who’s currently live on Sunday Supplement so that’s strange. Secondly it says City are close to signing him but the last paragraph says Arsenal want 35m and City are only willing to pay 20m....contradictions everywhere.

Sometimes it sounds cliche, but sometimes players are looking for projects, some dreams and visions apart from money/trophies.

Maybe sanchez wants to be part of something that jose envision him doing.

Sometimes... We do get pogba to join us on our lowest point didnt we? And fletcher, john oshea left us when we're a trophy magnet, for something else with a different team.
Fletcher and O Shea left so they could play every game. Poor comparison.

But City aren’t willing to pay the money needed to get him this window.. it’s almost as if City put out a lie to the media to get us interested or the media just don’t listen to when clubs tell them stuff.

If JM was talking about AS, then we have to assume we are in for him. I personally don't see him joining United - I don't know why but I just don't see him in a United shirt. If we do sign him, the money involved is going to be sickening.
I kind of get the feeling he will end up at City and JM and United could end up like we have lost out to City, and that won't go down well.

It also says that Arsenal might be forced to accept Citys lower offer or lose Sanchez on a free at the end of the season.
I've no idea where he will end up, but it does make me wonder if it's actually City that have cooled their interest due to the players they have now actually playing really well, all whilst putting out the excuse that they don't want to pay £35m as they feel it's too high. If Sanchez ends up here, then City can say "Well we tried, but Arsenal were playing hard ball and didn't want to negotiate".

Or they are so desperate to see him sign for City over United. They just can’t accept the fact that there is a very strong possibility that he could be a United player this month.

Results and performances would appear to suggest otherwise.
By that rationale Chelsea were a few transfer windows ahead of City last season, and yet in the space of 1 window there’s been a 30 point swing. In football sometimes a small change can yield huge improvements, even the addition of a single player can release the potential in the others around them and allow the manager to change approach.

The narrative is really annoying me in the media. They just want Pep to succeed so much. He wasn’t hounded last year when trophyless and finishing forth.

Now this season his success is based on him not the fact they have spent the most money since he joined, with arguably the best group of players already there. If you look at who is their best performers this season it De Bruyne, Silva, Aguero, Sterling and Fernandinho. All of which were there already.
