Said it even before the game, this whole scapegoating by Jose was childish and stupid. He chose to reward average performing players like Mctominay, Mata, Lingard, Matic and I would even say Lukaku but drops Pogba, Martial and not select Rahsford. If we drop points today, jose has to take some flak and big one. Time to man up and take some responsibility .

Well I think we played fairly well.
me too lol. I know we should have scored by now but i don't see why theres all the negativity. Also what do people expect from Mctominay. comparing him to cleverly on his first proper prem start is silly

Are people really watching the same game ? Mata, Lingard and Sanchez have been trying too many combinations and one-two to open spaces, more than any game this season imo.

the club keeps bringing in players for big fees and wages but it keeps turning out to be anti-climatic with our attacking play and it's not going to get significantly better with mourinho in charge tbh
Turn to the Academy I have been saying for years. The Busby Babes are the lead that club should strive to follow at all cost.

Ref is not great. Trying not to make a mistake. Looks as nervous as some of the players. The Mc Tominah incident was nearly a sending off let alone a penalty.

I would take off Mata and McTominah and bring on Martial and Pogba and early enough too.

I hate blaming the refs, but this display is so bad and borderline biased. They are allowed to commit niggling foul after foul every time we get the ball past them, but as soon as we make one tackle its a straight yellow. We also deserved a clear penalty. I just don't get it.

This is what’s so fecking annoying, if it was the same for everyone it’d be alright, the refs credibility went flying out the window when he gave a drop for that McTominay incident anyways, what a fecking knob
The inconsistency of officials is one of the most frustrating things to witness. They want to be a spectacle and show they are the boss, but miss blatant obvious calls and fouls.

I don't know what to say our pansies couldn't press a daisy. Where is Roy Keane when you need him, Matic is about as hard as a strawberry.

Difficult to find any positives in that 1st half. Most of our attacking players have their backs to the goal. Very ineffective style of play.

Lukaku is pretty much useless without Pogba anyway. So if you're going to drop Pogba, then you're just going to get an even more ineffective Lukaku.
He's pretty useless with Pogba as well, just another excuse to mask Lukaku's huge weaknesses.

Yeah. I can be annoyed at a ref that i disagree with his line on. I start disliking them once they don't follow their own line. Some refs in the PL seem to have one line up until 60-70 minutes and then another line for the rest of the minutes, this one seemed to have a way too high line up until around 30-40 minutes where he changed it. I just don't get it.

Sanchez is too good for this team. We need another 6/7 players at his level to compete at the top again.

Poor decision making from the players in the final third, we also need to cross the ball to Lukaku more often. It's the obvious thing...

The club should fecking sue the FA and the ref's association for being incompetent if they ban Jose for speaking the truth.

Refs needs to be held accountable for their performance instead of just pretending that they're always right.
Club Vs FA I wonder how that will turn out.

No surprise we're playing slow, tumescent crap all through the middle with McTominay, Mata and Lingard all thinking they're David Silva. No width whatsoever, a crime not to play Martial on the left and Sanchez on the right in this game..

Good half. We played with urgency right from the start for the first time in a while. Lingard is getting better and better. I like his movement a lot. Jose should bring in Pogba for Scot and Martial or Rashford for Lukaku.

Bring on Martial and Pogba in the 2nd half. Take off McTominay and Lukaku. We need to throw the kitchen sink at them.

Lukaku makes the tempo bit slow, he can't pass or move quickly. Think we need both Martial and Pogba.

Yes, the officiating has been extremely questionable. We should clearly have had one penalty, and possibly a second. A troublesome lack of consistency.

That said, we simply haven’t been good enough. Mourinho needs to make some changes at the half, or very shortly thereafter. Mata and McTominay need to make way for Martial and Pogba, in my opinion. We really haven’t created many clear cut chances. There’s not enough movement off the ball and the passing has been too pedestrian, resulting in a lack of cutting edge.

Changes needed to be made after the Spurs performance. The team needs to step up and grind out a win, we've forgotten how to win ugly it seems

Every ball is rebounding off him. It is impossible to use him as a target man if his touch is that bad.
He's a goal poacher with a very average average all round game. People can pretend it's not a problem but it is. Look at how top strikers made the ball stick and bring everyone into the game. Lukaku is so hit and miss. His general really is Everton level.

Indeed. Though I suppose it's our fault for expecting anything else from the match thread given they tend to be relentlessly negative.

What did he seriously expect? Mctominay, who is shite, and Matic centre mid. Dropping our two best players in Martial and Pogba. All on Jose this.

Valencia offering absolutely feck all to this game. He’s played well and been tidy in the first half but I don’t think McTominay helps with the lack of penetration.

Sanchez, Lingard and Mata have tried their best to create but Lukaku is letting them down up top with a mixture of poor touches and lack of runs.

Put Rashford up top and replace McTominay with Pogba.

What game have you been watching?
He is doing nothing really. One nice pass to Valencia, but apart from that he has not created anything. Can't beat his guy nor link up well. Just like he played at Arsenal. Very annoying at the moment wish we hadn't bought him and stuck with Martial and Rashford.
