A team with their quality and resources has to stay up. It's not an achievement to keep them up even though Smug Dave will consider it one.
You earn that right by winning games against the like of Brighton,Burnley etc not get trashed by them.

They have gone down before with players of the quality of Carrick,Defoe and Lampard

Carrick and Defoe were very young and Lampard was no longer there. They were too good to go down back then too, they did because of bad management (think it was Roeder).

If they are relegated this year Moyes will be largely at fault and it will be added to his list of 'achievements' since he left Everton. If they barely save themselves from relegation, it's not a huge achievement that he should brag about. Getting them to finish mid-table would probably be above par achievement considering the morale of the team, just keeping them higher than 18th will not be above par.

The hair green monster follows him to whichever club he is at. I can remember half our fans stupidly chanting the give him time and fergie chose him mantra while the other half wanted him physically thrown out of the club. The west ham internal discontent is just another manifestation of this. Any one tempted to hire him in the future should take note.

:lol:That six year contract was insane.
Crazy long-term contracts were all the rage back around 2012/13, it seems. Alan Pardew still has two years left on the one he signed at Newcastle...

I fail to sympathise with any club that appoints Moyes. He literally got a better job as a reward for being an utter failure in his last one.

I don't get the hate for Moyes. Yes he was a disaster for us. But talk about a job where you are almost guaranteed to fail. Followed by Real Sociadad....guaranteed to fail. Sunderland.... Completely toxic club. Ask any one of their previous and current manager.
And then takes over at a failing west ham club. Yes an idiot but not for the reasons people think. He is an idiot for choosing the worst jobs out there.
Real Sociedad where in the Champions league a few seasons prior to Moyes joining. Heck he even faced them in the competition.

Have returned to European competition since he left. That's just nonsense.

Yeah I read that nonsense a lot when he was there. Bullshit. He took a top half team to near relegation.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get over that. He was literally running the club into the ground and people were still backing him because of this ridiculous notion that “United don’t sack managers, we’re better than that” and “fergie chose him and he knows more than us. Give him time”. That was genuinely the darkest period of being a United fan since I’ve began watching football. Given their way there were far too many that would have had Moyes here for a few more years.

His very existence upsets me.

Fergie got him because he thought Moyes would listen to him. Fergie advised him to keep the back room staff for sometime. The first thing Moyes did was to sack them and bring in a guy no one has ever heard of as his assistant.
Then he over trained RVP so much that RVP pulled a muscle and got injured. He then started going after Fabregas, Bale, Ronaldo and Messi etc thinking they wanted to play for David Moyes. The man is delusional and the damage he has done in such a short time to United is still going on and United have still not received from it.
To make matters worse he cannot forget about it and thinks he is entitled to Manage United till his 6 year contract is over.

Furthermore, you cannot compare Moyes to Big Sam. Big Sam at least keeps teams up and have never been relegated from the PL. He has never been sacked for being relegation fodder either. He has always managed much smaller clubs than Everton before and now it looks like he is going to keep them up again while when he took over they look they might get relegated.

And we're still paying part of Rooney wage for another year, ain't we? (technically with the severance fee for him to rejoin Everton)

You can't sack someone who is no longer employed by you.
Well yeah thats what i said.

But still having your boss tell you that they won't be renewing your contract and no longer want to employ you amounts to being sacked whatever the technicalities.

Won the Community Shield, brought Mata and Fellaini, and lead against Bayern Munich for 60 seconds, so yes:p
You say that jokingly but Mourinho has yet to even match what Moyes achieved for us in the Champions League...

Used to think Sunderland were the most depressing sight in football. Now they're irrelevant and off for a holiday in League 1, you'd struggle to match Moyes and West Ham for depressing football scenarios. Should never have got rid of Allardicio.

watched the game against Burnley. What the hell did Moyes say to them at half time? "You've been quite good lads, stop it!"?. He still has no Plan B and still make the same whiney noises. Leeds for him next!

Everyone and their dog knew that appointing Moyes would be a disaster. Press would allow interviews for him to keep him relevant and make people believe that he can still do a job. But that doesn't mean he could do it.

Our Moyesie doesn't half pick em.

Keeping a team like West Ham up shouldn't even be any great shakes!

If he gets relegated again, you think he'll get another PL club? Who would take him?

West Ham is in a much worst situation than before hiring Moyes. I think we are starting to see a pattern here...

Give him a chance mate he's only been there 6 months, Plan B comes after Plan A and he's still working on that one.

Definitely Moyes has just been very unfortunate that the last four clubs he has taken over were on the cusp of imploding and theres nothing any manager in the world let alone a great like Dave could have done to stop it.

I could accept that with SUnderland, they had a poor squad. But at the Hammers the squad is pretty decent. He has enough talent at his disposal to turn arround things.
