In that interview, I found it interesting that he said he can’t go forward in a midfield 2.
Its true. The whole Caf slates him when he plays in a two and drives forward cause it leaves matic exposed. WOuld only work if we dominated matches more

He wasnt even bad in the first half either btw.
.
Exactly, he didn't cower or shirk responsibility whenever he was in play but everyone around him just stood still when he had the ball. Today he had decided he wasn't going to lose and eventually dragged everyone else to a sweet victory.

Loved it when he was telling De Gea that he is numero uno after the final whistle.

I thought he was good throughout the whole game. I thought that Bailly and Smalling were a trainwreck, and Young looked like he was shitting himself. IMO, our defense was the problem in the first half.

Hope these Lampardesque runs into the box finally convinces Mourinho that a midfield trio is the way forward.

Proving again why he is world class and one of the best in his position. He is a joy to watch.

fecking horrendous first half, lost his head, strolled around, lost the ball in dangerous positions trying to be cocky. Wanted him sold I was that pissed off with him.

Two goals second half and got wound up and gave it to the City players to show he does actually care.

Still think he should've been sent off for his hack because I hate those fouls but I'll take his second half performance every week please.

His yellow card pleased me almost as much as his two goals. He was prepared to do the dirty work today.

Henry made a good point that days like today and the feeling that Pogba got from scoring twice may lead him to simplify his game and become more efficient.

If he can focus on moving the ball more quickly and attacking the box he can be such a threat.

Weird that there’s isn’t a performance video up on YouTube yet.

If anyone comes across one please link it here.

There wasnt a single United player in the first haf that was any better than him. He was the only one to try bring us forward. Did you want all them sold aswell?

The interview in case anyone missed it.

Thanks!

Pogba was immense today! I even thought he was very good in the first half, his attitude and intensity was something else. I loved how he and the others took the game to City’s level by getting in their faces and maling little fouls to stop them going forward

Before his goals, I was looking at him play on gym tv screens, and I was saying to myself, this guy could carry the team on his own. His touch, passing, dribbling, and attacking is on another level to the other players, such a natural with the ball at his feet

Today he matured. He showed what he's capable of. He showed passion, grit and that he knows what's it about to play for United. Absolutely loved it.
And I love that he made bla bla gestures to our fans in the sense not caring about shit which is said around.
I love the fact it was today he had this kind of game after that Raiola shit.

So glad for him. Onwards and upwards!

Lovely too see pogba breaking foward like that. He needs to be doing that all the time.
Mate, Scholes said last season, that he needs to just give and go straight into the box. He could pass to Lukaku and then drive on for the overlap into the box. with his size and acceleration, defenders wouldn't cope but he prefers to play the slow dilly dally stuff rather than the aggressive style. Hopefully he has seen the light.

EDIT: good on Carrick for teaching him the manoeuvres. Get Scholes on the coaching team as well and make him into a monster

Pogba wasn't good in the first half by his own standards/ability, but he wasn't as bad as some are making out. What I like about him is how confident he is. Even amongst the shite on show in that first half, he looked calm on the ball and was doing his part to link play up, it was others letting it all down.

Like Souness said, it'll be a crime if we don't find a way to not only make it work for him here, but to make him one of the best midfielders around. There's still so much more to come from him, we just need to strengthen this team and he now needs to carry on playing well and showing some desire like he did today. The plaudits won't come to him, he has to earn them. Hopefully he now realises that.

Don't want to sound like I'm over-reacting about his performance.
But is it just me or did his second half performance remind you a bit of Keane vs' Juve in '99.
2-0 down against a world class team, and he changed the game. And that glancing header Keane scored against Juve was sort of similar to his today.

I personally don't like that line of thinking, you'd think he was Fellaini.

It's like some didn't see what he did for Juve or our youth teams. He is a magician. It's annoying that somehow his shooting has deserted him because he scored screamers for fun before he came back here. The guy is capable of so much more than just getting on the end of things in the box. 9/10 it's Pogba that plays those balls over the top. He's better than anybody we have it creating, it's the others that need to find a way to make the runs and finish the chances.

Obviously itsi great that he can do this, but it's a million miles away from being his main strength in attack.

Excellent performance made all the better by how surprising it was but a long way to go still from Keano's in Turin. Keanes performance then was up there with the greatest of all time for taking the game by the scruff of the neck for what was at stake.

What I liked most was that he was throwing himself around, protectng teammates, encouraging the crowd, picking fights and actually giving a damn. Great second half.

This is the first time I've seen him this passionate and involved on and off the ball (second half), as opposed to the ambling carefree indisciplined Pogba we usually see (first half).

Today he stepped up and announced himself as a United player, as Henry said.

Genuinely hope he goes onto bigger and better things for us from now.

He wouldn't have scored the goals he did today if he was in a midfield 2. Even he admits he can't get forward as much playing in a 2 but in a 3 he has the confidence to try different things and even if they don't come off it won't cost the team because we have Matic and Herrera covering.

Lingard, Lukaku, Sanchez, Young, DDG, Valencia, Matic all much much worse in that first half.

Things didn't come off but he tried, didn't shy from the ball and tried to make things happen as the rest of the team collectively shat the bed.

Then he scores 2 and dominates.

Hopefully this is a sign of more to come from him, took his goals superbly - the second was a header any centre forward would have been proud of - and put himself about all over the pitch. If he can replicate that a bit more often, he will be an absolute star at United.
Loved Mourinho's cheeky comment at the end that he had increased his transfer value after today. Wonder what Pogba and Pep were talking about at the end.
