So relieved to hear good news from the surgery. It's not time for Sir Alex to go.

Really warming reading all the heart felt messages from around the world.

Never seen such a universal outpouring of emotion from everyone like has happened and continues to happen. It’s making me really emotional.

God I hope this doesn’t have a tragic end :(

Terrible news. Hopefully he’ll make a full recovery. This is the first time I’ve ever hoped for Fergie time.

Hope he pulls through, been such a big part of my life since i was a kid. As others have said it almost feels like a family member is ill.

Nice to see all the good will clubs, players and fans even opposition ones are showing. Things like this make you realize football really is only a game.

Can people stop with the blue frowny faces please?

Scrolling through the pages and hitting across a wall of:

":(:(:( oh feck"

...might make people think the worst has happened. Few times returning to this thread and scrolling down I've thought that.

Not the time or place for this.

Please behave yourself.

Well it’s not good news is it? Let’s not dictate how others react to news like this.

The reaction from the football world has been amazing. You wouldn’t expect anything else but still it’s wonderful.

Thoughts are with SAF and his family.

He really is a father figure to all.

How one man was able to have that sort of persona and aura to feel like family to any person that’s ever seen him - it’s special; it’s simply Sir Alex.

I hope and pray he gets better and gets back to good health. I actually started to tear up thinking about Sir Alex not being here anymore and i'm really not like that.

But yeah, thoughts and prayers xxxx

And what? It's not good news so the 'blue frowny faces' are appropriate if they feel a particular way, which I'm sure we all do.

Stop trying to tell people what to write, not the time or place.

Mon yersel' Fergie, get well soon!

My favourite picture of Sir Alex, on his 20th Anniversary. Half of those who turned up were still managing. Who else could have the coaches of the teams he was playing every week turn up to pay respect to him? Top man.

Fantastic tribute! Paul Jewell in the back cracks me up though.

Such awful news, you get in into your head that something like this could never happen to Sir Alex. Hoping for good news soon.
