That was our last friendly and we look so under prepared.

Our season is in Woodward's hands.

Football, bloody hell.
Can’t wait to play like this next Friday only for those of you who say “pre season doesn’t matter” to wake up and realise how much shit we are in with this man in charge.
That's fine. None of us are saying it will be chalk and cheese and we'll win 4-0, but this really didn't matter tonight. If we're shit against Leicester and beyond then moan away.

We have too many poor and mediocre players in our line up to play decent football. We really need to learn how to replace non performing players in due time rather than stick with them because they have nice personalities off the pitch.
You know its possible to play football With mediocre players - but you need a system, they need to know what to do. And after 2 years, Mourinho still hasn't been able to get that into the club. Under Ferguson, you could put more or less any player in any given position and they would do ok. With Mourinho its the opposite.

"Match fitness" blah blah blah.. you'd think our whole squad just came back from an ACL. You'd think we would be a lot better than Real Madrid's kids... Just you keep doing that mental gymnastic shit rather than seeing what is what.

I don't get why all 3 midfielders were sat right infront of the back 4. The gap between midfield and attack was too much for us to create anything substantial.

A pretty hideous watch all-told. I'm aware of the personnel factors at play, missing some of our big hitters and the few senior players we do have available having their bollocks run off all over the US isn't ideal, but I can't pretend I've seen much tonight to give me confidence for Friday.

I think Sanchez looked sharp in the first half and we defended well for long periods too, but we look well behind in our preparations, more so than any of our rivals that I've seen this preseason (City, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal). We'll be looking to scrape through our first few fixtures, let's hope we can but I'd take any United players you may have out of your fantasy team for now.

Also MUTV is an embarrassment, I don't see much of it but is it always this shoddy?

Aye I will troll through pages of wank for you. You just hold on I will be right back!
:lol: :lol::lol:

Have you heard of a thing called the search function?

Right, the real reason you won't find it is because you made it up. No one is claiming we'll finish midtable.

You can tell what the plan is with United but the players just don't look like they can pull it off. I remember when we went to Stamford Bridge under Van Gaal when Jose was their manager, we had 70% of the ball but Hazard needed just one chance and it was over. Yeah we attacked but they didn't ever really look out of control. United have had a handful of games like that, the FA cup semi last year, the Liverpool home game, the Europa League final, but its not really consistent. We've got a good shape when defending but when pressed we're very panicky and we don't counter with any kind of menace much of the time. Tonight was another testament to that.
Agree. Completely.

I've raised similar points in other threads. I wish more of the debate centred around this, because for me it's a head-scratcher.

Yeah he was brilliant in pre-season, worked wonders for us in real fixtures.
Different with moyes he got 28 million on fellaini and paid the price
Jose has had 100s of millions and does everything to keep fellaini and ok he won Europa but omg where so dire I'd sooner play better football and loose than just sit there and have a bore draw with no shots

Fit enough to play 90 minutes of competitive football.
We just had 3-4 games in US tour. How many more games you need to get this "match fit" before you can go into a game showing your actual worth?

If that's anything to go by then our womens team will be a better watch this season. We would uncomfortable in possession, devoid of any ideas with the ball. The only thing you say about Mourinho teams is that they keep their shape well defensively but staggers me that we are targeting a CB like we need any more emphasis on defence. Attack Attack Attack, I think well here quite a few times this season at OT.

Doesn’t help having so many average players and young overrate players as well. If we can get top 4 with this squad it’s achievement.

We're playing away to Bayern Munich in a meaningless pre-season friendly for fitness with a lot of our first team missing. No we couldn't get one shot on target with Rashford and Sanchez. It's not the end of the world, it's a friendly with unfit/missing players.
You can't account for how fecking clueless we look even in simple plays. Those players couldn't hold possession if their lives counted on it. No excuse for that.

Fit, unit, full team, half a team..we are just not very good and we play some of the worst football I have witnessed in over 30 years watching United.

All I know is I guarantee we do not win the league or CL regardless of any further signings we may make before the window shuts.

We were under the cosh so naturally fell deeper. I doubt it was a direct instruction.
We were under the cosh because we didn't press them enough when they had the ball, when we did the player was too far away and then they could pass between the lines. When they pressed us we surrendered the ball way too easily also.
