He needs more time than other players to hit form. His bottom level might be shocking at times. Apparently, he's in a bad shape after every summer holiday. He was like that last season too and Guardiola complained about his condition.

Once he hits form though...Contributed 25 league goals last season, can't remember another young winger in the PL being that productive since Henry and Ronaldo.

Kroos really sounds like a gobsh*te, and I'm a big fan of him. Neuer is still the captain and should remain.

Terrible comment to make. Not surprised after he put his nose in the Ozil fiasco.

I don't think he's worth the hype he gets on here. City/Pep's system seems to have the structure and playing ability to make good players look world class.

Lowe is 100% right. He has never done it for Germany. He also sees Sane play a lot more football than us (training, as mentioned). Plus he's a world cup winning manager. I'd take his opinion over that of a City-Loving Redcafe United fan.
Just wait and see, a fully fit Mendy will screw Sane big time even at City. They don't need him if Mendy is fit.

Toni Kroos: “You sometimes get the feeling that it doesn't matter to Sane if we win or lose. It's about showing his qualities. Then he can be an absolute weapon for us. He has got everything to become a world-class player, but sometimes, he needs to be told what to do.“

What's wrong with that?
Absolutely nothing. Just a serial winner talking facts about one of his teammates.

I would love a Toni Kroos here.

Why go back that far when there is one just on the other wing at City who contributed even more?
Henry and Ronaldo were 22 when they contributed 25 league goals. Same with Sane. Sterling turns 24 soon. When he was 22, he contributed 13 league goals.

Way to cherry pick ages. If Sterling is "nearly 24" then Sane is "nearly 23". Fact is Sterling was 22 for half of last season and far outscored Sane and his 16/17 season was barely less than Sane. Sterling has far outscored Sane in the CL in both seasons as well.

Sterling turned 22 season 16/17 when he had 7 goals and 6 assists in the league. Sane turned 22 last season and had 10 goals and 15 assists in the league - nearly double what Sterling contributed when he was the same age. And Sane, not Sterling, was voted best young player last season.

He is destined for Bayern IMO. The perfect Robben replacement.

Bayern don't have the cash to prise him away from City, not to mention City hardly ever sell big players. Can't remember the last one who demanded out or was plucked by a bigger club.

Bayern would have the cash, but are unwilling to spend.

I'm still struggling to understand what has gone wrong. He was voted the best young player last season. There weren't any concerns over attitude. What has changed?

If he does not getting playing time he might be itching to leave like Boateng all those years ago.

Mendy. Mendy being back in the lineup means less need for a traditional winger like Sane.

Sane was terrible in the Community Shield and got himself dropped on that performance.

He had fitness issues at the start of last season too, himself and Aguero if I'm not mistaken arrived back out of shape. Sergio made no such mistakes this term. I think the kids success might have gone to his head a little as well given whats come out of the Germany camp.. (he does have pretty much a full size tattoo of himself on his back).

Thirdly, the plan originally for last season was 3 at the back and the team wouldn't feature Sane or Sterling, similar to how we played vs Huddersfield. He's not up to task defensively when we play this way and well neither is Mendy but he's the preferred choice. Pep has said he needs Mendy in the team to play Jesus and Aguero together, if Mendy and Jesus are going to play a lot of games, Leroy could well miss a lot.

That said we have a big squad now and someone has to sit out. Gabriel Jesus came out and said he expects the same to happen to him this term.

So basically he's out of form, out of shape, tactically a bad fit for the current style and has a little bit of an ego whilst in a squad with 18 players of similar ability. I'm sure he'll get his run but he may have to wait awhile or for Mendy to have a shocker.
Its been a tough couple of months for him and I'm pretty sure he will turn it around.

Why? Two different coaches dropped him and one even called him out in public.
Was there something wrong with him when he was a key player for a side that broke almost every PL record? Him being dropped from City and Germany are probably more tactical than anything.

If it were tactical, it would be a lot easier to just say that than falsely accuse him of having attitude problems.

There were rumors in Germany that key players in Germany's squad suggested to Löw to leave Sane at home for the WC and obviously Löw agreed with that. It is kind of obvious that there have been doubts about Sane's attitude before and Kroos comment now seems like a very public reminder. To me it kind sounds "now that you get another chance you better focus and deliver".

Don’t know what happened to this guy but last season he looked electric. Sterling’s numbers were better but Sane has the real talent, it’s so obvious to see. We should lodge a cheeky bid if he really is unsettled, would love to see him here. Has United player written all over him

What's the problem? Recent events suggest there has to be something seriously wrong with Sane.
Seems like knocking someone when they're down to me. I find it difficult to believe Sane is behaving too differently from how he was last season.
He's been dropped by Pep for tactical reasons and that's fair enough. I think accusing the YPOTY of bad attitude is easier than trying to say a player that was so good last year is being dropped for tactical reasons.

Worst thing he could do now is get a selfie with the Senegalese president.

Pep has probably told Sane that he will get playing time through the season. The issue is that top players want to play in the big games. He won't be happy playing PL & CL games against cannon fodder but then not making the starting line up in the big games. The problem he has is that he is at a state funded club. The transfer fee & wages they are paying him is minute when taken into context of their overall wealth. City would rather stick him on the bench & let him run his contract down than sell him to a rival.
