Lacazette has been on top form. Surprised he hasn't been recAlled.
I don't remember that piece but if it's true, he deserves to not play. He can go f*** himself, just because you had the possibility to play for Spain should not allow you to say such things.
I am delighted with that France team, I just hope we replace the striker with Martial. Imagine Dembele, Martial and Mbappe in that team.
The amount of depth that we have at the moment is staggering. People talk about Lacazette, Rabiot and the big names, but there many less known players who would be called up in most national teams, like Diallo, Ben Yedder, Ntcham, Haller.
We're set for the future at every position except for GK, and central defense where we have an army of great young defenders (Laporte, Lenglet, Diallo, Zagadou, Issa Diop, Upamecano) who all play at top/good level, and despite the fact that there were basically 4 open spots, he still decided to goes with the same. Calling an injured Varane was weird, he had the longest season out of anybody and could do with some rest, especially since he'll still have to play word champions cup before the break. It was an opportunity to give some of those guys a chance so it's disappointing but still trusting and supporting Deschamps of course.
Why?
Why is Rabiot blacklisted?
he refused to be on the standby list for the World Cup.
Yeah it is a good period to be fan of the french national teamThe amount of depth that we have at the moment is staggering. France can field a top tier 2nd team but those players you mentioned wouldn't get into the Icelandic team, would get a call-up though. I don't feel like Deschamps picked the best squad possible this time but that might also have been intentional since they are basically playing two friendlies. I doubt even France would be disappointed by a loss to Netherlands as that would mean Germany would finish bottom which is quite the schadenfreude. The amount of depth that we have at the moment is staggering. So many Mourinho fans said he was not good enough for France and he wouldn't make the squad again after the World Cup
Really? So many United fans said he was not good enough for France and he wouldn't make the squad again after the World Cup
World champion manager thereRami and Sakho over Laporte and Lenglet![]()
Really?
This mentality was the cause of Germany hitting a new Low(pun intended) at the WCWorld champion manager thereIn all seriousness Laporte will never get called up for France because of what wa said and Lenglet has never worked with Deschamps before/ is too good to be on the bench. Sakho and Rami are bench players and for these role, it's always better to take player you know a lot about.

Well we're not there yet. I don't see what bringing Lenglet for a friendly does. Laporte burnt himselfThis mentality was the cause of Germany hitting a new Low(pun intended) at the WC

He didn't say much but he keeps talking about his absence in the media recently and he said before he could play for Spain. Usual shit about players showing their impatience in publicWhat did Laporte say?
Like Germany leaving behind Sane. Germany failed to move on from Schweinsteiger, Lahm and replace a poor Thomas Muller. That mentality is how we avoid the usual drama and France built a team that won a WC and went to a Euro final. Bench players will be selected based on their abilities but also their character.
No they didn’t.Really?

If suppose for the next tournament Varane or Umtiti get injured. Who would replace them? Laporte/Lenglet or Rami. Who would play upfront? Giroud or Lacazette. It's better to have these guys involved in the group from now rather than leaving it too late imo

Nobody is tracking back in that, Griezmann and Mbappé are never going out of the starting lineup. I've never been impressed with Fekir for France, it looks like he can't make the step up from Ligue 1 to international football. Deschamps should realy call up Lacazette because i can't see Giroud starting in the Euros. If he doesn't and you go for Mbappe as a number 9, you have no strenght upfront, and the whole balance he spent 4 years putting together is thrown out. Lacazette isn't as good as Giroud for the role but he already showed this season that he can do it to some extent. My preferred attack would be:
GiroudNo chance Griezmann misses out, though. Or probably Matuidi for that matter.
Martial Fekir M'bappé
Pogba Kanté
In regards to your tracking back comment, you underestimate Fekir in that regard. It's a big reason as to why I'm a huge fan. Works as hard defensively as Tevez did or Alexis and Firmino now.Nobody is tracking back in that, Griezmann and Mbappé are never going out of the starting lineup. I'm still on the fence about Martial, i like him when he's on form but when things don't work out he looks Özil-esque. It's a massive year for him and has a lot to prove: cement his place in the group and decides if he stays at Manchester or not.
What is this about?Dembelé is in deep trouble because of his immature attitude
Don't think anyone said otherwise. My lineup above was just what I'd like to see from a selfish pov; not how I actually expect them to line-up.No chance Griezmann loses his place to anyone.
Based on your location, I'd guess you know a lot more than me about the Icelandic team, but when it comes to forwards, when I see that our (by our I mean my club, FC Nantes) highest paid striker, Sigthorsson, who has been AWOL for over 2 years, is still being called up in the team, I don't see how Ben Yedder and Haller wouldn't get in. I'm sure guys like Ntcham or Diallo would be called up if they were english or italian.France can field a top tier 2nd team but those players you mentioned wouldn't get into the Icelandic team, would get a call-up though.
