Newbies 15/16 FPL Champion.
They're definitely in the conversation now. If they won it it would be an incredible achievement considering their injury problems. I don't think they'll win it but they certainly have a squeak.

The league is definitely beyond us tbh (especially with trips to the etihad and anfield) let's be fair. We're very clearly the distant third favourite.

I'd happily settle for us doing the scouse at Anfield and taking the title from them though. If third is secure we can lie back for City, no worries.
Ok let’s see how deep this goes.

Would you rather Spurs win nothing and City win the league, or Spurs win the CL and Liverpool win the league?

Who are you actually angry at? It’s not our fault the referees are garbage in England.
I'm not angry at anybody, just the decision, quite clearly, hence why I called it disgraceful. It could prove absolutely pivotal in any title race.

This season more than anybody Liverpool have had the rub of the green with officials, that's just my opinion. I don't think it's conspiracy (the comment about having linesmen on the payroll was obviously a joke ffs) but I do think you've been lucky, hence why Klopp moaning about any decisions is a total joke.

I do think you have some nerve saying everyone knows we won't win the league. It may well be true, but it's not like your own side have shown any recent history of being capable of going all the way, and right now you're stuttering your way to gift wrapping it for City.

Fair points but I’d argue City have done the same thing losing to Newcastle, Leicester and Palace. It’s like a polite title race where we’re all trying to offer the advantage to the other.

True, but I feel like City are suffering more from the whole title winner having a bit of a hangover phenomenon. Is the same desire there to go to the likes of Newcastle and Palace and not allow complacency to set in? Last season they were ruthless at these places, now they score a goal and think it's done. The same hunger isn't there IMO, not for every single game they play. They're still ridiculous on their day and their big game record is stellar, but it does feel like they've not quite got that same consistency as they did last season, allowing your lot an opening. In fairness you've been immense, and it says a lot that even a less motivated City side are only 3 points behind you, considering how consistent you've been this season.

In terms of our chances, I think it's more of a fool's hope than anything else. A lot would have to go our way to make it a possibility and if we're being realistic, we've never shown we're capable of what would need to be done. Costly losses at home to you, City and United have cost us that chance at the dream, I think.

In reality, all 3 teams are barely dropping points. Liverpool is on pace for 94, City for 90 and Spurs for 87. That would shatter all PL records for points by a top 3.

Only 5 teams in PL history have had 85 points or more and not won the title (Chelsea 07/08, United 09/10, Liverpool 08/09, Tottenham 16/17 and United 11/12). It's likely that two more teams will join that list this season alone. What any of the top 3 teams are doing this year is remarkable.

If I was Poch I'd be gutted at being back in the race.

He was on his way to a distant but comfortable third and all the praise that comes with it. Now he's on his way to a close 3rd and the accusations of being a bottler.

Same, id prefer Spurs over the scousers or schitty. If Dortmund knock them out of the CL they will only have the PL to focus on. Out of both cups already, and the injury crisis is improving.

Dier, Wanyama, Sissoko all back, just Alli and Kane to return now. But Son back from S.Korea duty to help make up the goals Kane would be slotting in.

 Too true. :(

We are on course to finish third, and got a difficult schedule, but if we somehow finish third people will still say we bottled the title somehow.

I actually prefer Liverpool to win it over City, maybe I'm in the minority.

You are. It’s as much to do with the media as it is to do with our fan base.

I actually think it’d calm some of our more eccentric fans down a bit.

 This is very true.

We're not finishing 1st if we're honest. Would need some pretty miraculous results, including us winning at Stamford Bridge, Anfield and the Etihad. Just not going to happen, our injury record this season has seen to that unfortunately.

Considering the investment (this season or in last 4-5 years), wage bill and injury problems this season it's just fantastic that they are 5 points behind Liverpool and 2 points behind City. Poch is such a superb manager, Wish he goes to Madrid next season.

Yup, he's just an incredible manager. This Spurs run of continously winning inspite of that rubbish injury record is incredible.

It would be magnificent if they pipped both City and Pool to the title - especially if they manage to secure wins at Anfield and Etihad. We could always do them a favor against those 2 at OT as well

But yeah, not too hopeful.

So they're back in a title race now?
Realistically not, but not out of the realm of possibility. We have to outperform teams that have outperformed us so far this season without Kane against Chelsea and Arsenal in the games coming up. We also have the worst fixtures with being away at Anfield, the Etihad and Stamford Bridge while City and Liverpool have already played each other. I'm very impressed with the squad though, and if we somehow manage to win against Chelsea and Arsenal over the next month we have a chance going into the head to head games away to Liverpool and City.

City are now the bookies favourites for the Prem. As Spurs are just two points behind City they must be in with a chance.

With everyone watching Pool and City, it’d be ironic if Spurs were to slip through on the outside and win it!

Of course if Spurs were to win it, Poch would have answered all the questions and Utd/RM would undoubtedly up their interest in Pochettino. Which makes me wonder if any Spurs fans would be willing to sacrifice their manager for the title? Or vice versa, sacrifice the title for the manager?

I suspect an emphatic yes is the answer, even in the most literal sense - as a burnt offering.

Glaston returning to his home planet makes it much easier to support Spurs anyway.
100%. Been killing me watching City matches, hoping they win. Spurs are a much more obvious anti-Liverpool team to get behind. But then there’s the Glaston factor...

It’s remarkable how a single caftard has made it so difficult for so many people to support his team. If he could be banned until the end of the season that would be just swell.

My thoughts too! He’ll go one day, winning the title will just make it sooner rather than later.

Considering I would give my right arm to win a title I would reluctantly sacrifice Poch if it meant we got the win. I'd be living off it for the rest of my life.

I doubt winning a title will make any difference. I'm quite sure he was offered the Real Madrid job last season and I'm sure he has been approached for the United job as well.

I found myself cheering when City scored against Liverpool last month and then I realised what the feck I was doing. Terrible.

I'd rather City win the title than Liverpool, but it's still awful having City win the title. So yeah, I'm fully on board Team Spurs.
