Hardly his fault. Kehrer and Buffon had Karius level blunders there and they still had gone through if it wasn't for a very hard VAR decision in the 93rd minute. And that's not taken into consideration that they missed an incredible amount of chances in the first half. No offense but this game should've been a 3:0 at half time not a 1:2 and there's not much Tuchel could've done about that.

I understand that United supporters are euphoric right now but this downplaying irks me. PSG was the far, far better team throughout both legs, their first match against you was arguably the best display in the tournament. I'm all for being happy that you've gone through and I hope you are going far now but a little sense of reality would be nice. Tuchel has had PSG play some amazing football and if it wasn't for only one of two serious mistakes or an at least debatable referee call in the 93rd minute, this forum would be on about what a great coach he is.
Yeah let's not forget they should have been down to 10 when score was 0-0 and the same player scores first goal.

Yeah so ManUtd missing 10 players means "not Tuchel's fault" and then post bunch of excuses

They are playing a depleted team missing its entire midfield. I don't find anything marvelous in what they did all honestly. He will never face a big team in such worse state in terms of injuries and still screwed it up. The players looked very nervous at the back in the moments we got near the box which indicates he didn't mentally prepare them for United high pressing at the start or the scenario of conceding an early goal. It's his job as a manager.

I'm not saying he's a bad manager. He's simply overrated. As I said when he was linked to Bayern some were talking about him and his philosophy of football in an unbelievable way. Good but not as great as people think he's.

What?!! First half was crap from both teams and once Martial/Lingard went off they didn't have any fear from our attack, they took full advantage of the two injuries but were hardly Brilliant. If that's the best performance in the tournament then its good they're out because it was't.

He always striked me as an odd choice when PSG were looking for someone to take them to the next level, more of a sideways move from Emery than an upgrade

tbh PSG + Mourinho seem like the perfect match
If ever a side deserves Mourinho it is them.

PSG was the best side in the tournament and that without Neymar and Cavani. He's a great manager who got extremely unlucky IMO.
Why unlucky? If anything they were lucky in the first leg. They barely created a chance after their goal and I don't remember De Gea making a save except one v one against Mbappe.

If anything PSG were lucky.

Also people should come out of this B's mentality that more possession means deserve to win.

PSG had the much better team and were expected to win. If they had done Tuchel would've been deemed largely irrelevant. In the end he was largely irrelevant. Has nothing to do with United fans living in dreamland - which we are, and have no interest in leaving - and everything to do with the distance between your own views of Tuchel and everyone else's. As evidenced by the fact it's not just United fans in this thread baffled by your reaction.

I actually like him. He's obviously a very good coach, and his teams play great football.

PSG would be stupid to get rid, because if they can get Cavani, Mbappe and Neymar on the pitch they'll eventually win this.

I wouldn't say that he was irrelevant, I don't really understand the way they set themselves up, Verratti is always poor when he plays that high and Tuchel failed to restructure his team and bring some calm. To be honest I don't really know how he could have done it from the touchline but we have seen Zidane do it multiple times in the last 3 seasons, so it's possible.

You come off as a bit butt hurt. First leg we had three injuries by half-time, playing with a fourth (Rashford) still on. This leg we had 10 players out and a bench full of academy kids. Now nothing PSG did was as great as you claim, and to say ”PSG should be 3-0 by HT” is not only very petty, it’s completely false.
Wasn't that Liverpool?

This just isn't true. They had a paucity of real chances, only 12 shots in the whole game and only 4 on target. De Gea didn't have to make any great saves.
I agree that United defended good in the box but PSG still had an overload of chances where they had free shots on the goal that didn't even count as on target. Like Bernat choosing to lay it on his left, Dani Alves with a free shot after a di Maria cross, Mbappe stumbling when he had curved de Gea and di Maria hitting the post afterwards. Those are just from the top of my head, they also had many half chances or barely missed squares etc.

PSG was the better team but you went through and in the end that is all that counts, no shame in that. I just don't understand what this has to do with Tuchel because all this was out of his ibfluence.

Yeah right! When he can beat teams in the UCL with a midfield of Fred and McTominay, and throw on a few homegrown kids...then I'll start to be convinced.

At the moment he's behind Jardim and a few others in terms of being a very good coach

I can't remember why I joined this war.
I don't think yesterday was on him. His players bottled it big time. You could argue he shouldn't have fielded Kehrer but the commentator mentioned that Meunier wasn't fully fit and didn't start because of that. Apart from that his palyers bottled it yesterday, big time. That being said, I'm pretty sure he will get the boot at the end of the season, since clearly PSG is looking for a manager who can win the CL and Zidane is still available.

Is there a cap on the number of 'very good coaches' there are?

He himself had a midfield of which consisted of Marquinhos (a CB), and Dani Alves (at Old Trafford). The midfield wasn't where they lost the game, they were dominated at Old Trafford too with our first choice midfield. They just made some stupid mistakes, and then didn't do enough to kill the game. We on the other hand went for it and the players responded by taking their chances.

Taking the next corner instead of Jones!
Already knew him from Düsseldorf but thought the interview with Rio last night was very illuminating. He's obviously an intelligent, grounded young manager with huge potential (that does not come across as arrogance). A bit like Klopp without all the … Klopp

Still think the Oil money behind the project will feck him over for Jose in the summer after last night. Which is cool in my book as he deserves better and PSG and Jose deserve each other!

Really not sure those 3 are enough because as good as they are offensively they'll leave massive gaps defensively. He needs to get the balance in the side right and I'm not sure it is with those 3 all playing

I think he should've shifted mbappe to the right in place of the ineffective draxler and thrown in chupo moting upfront .

For the first sentence - if you rely on 41 yo, well past it Buffon, I believe it’s your fault. Had it been another keeper, they could’ve made it.
And even more so, they could’ve made it if it wasn’t for reckless and arrogant plays while it was 1-1. Better manager would not allow Alves to try his volleys and overheads in this situation. Better manager would not allow this fight between Alves and Thiago Silva. Better manager would infect his team with confidence and professionalism, not chaos.
Yes, they got unlucky and were a better team. But if you’re a manager that aims at being among the currently best in the world, you just don’t let it slip like that. Many mistakes made by Tuchel yesterday and it’s not the first time when he fecks up when it matters most.

ManUtd lost 2 players in game, so had to make subs for first leg.
PSG player should have been sent off when score was 0-0, who then goes on to score their first goal.
ManUtd had 10 players out because of injury and suspension.

Somehow PSG were unlucky because their players made mistakes

You got totally played off the park for at least 135 out of those 180mins. In the end, PSG have to blame themselves for their comical display of continued incompetence. They eliminated themselves, your teams's contribution was mostly confined to having 11 Players standing on the pitch.
I can totally see why you guys are delighted, and there's nothing wrong about that, but please don't suggest you've been any good in this tie. You just hit the mother lode of luck, and nothing else.

PSG didn't create enough chances in second leg, i don't remember De Gea making a save (except 1 vs Mbappe) and in first leg they should have been down to 10 players.

Not creating chances but having shit loads of possession is unlucky now? Of course we got 3 goals gifted just like how Matic and Bailly gifted them 3 goals.

Couldn't care less who had possession. They didn't create chances in second leg.

Bold part  Are you fecking Ince in disguise?

Did you watch the first game? We lost 2 players in the first half, we were devastated by injuries by the time the second leg came a long.

The games would've shaped out differently if we had our players didn't keep getting injured or were available from the off. We might not have won, but with the amount of injuries we've had we've deserved this bit of luck.

Forget injuries, they should have played second half with 10 men and the player who should have been scored the first goal, somehow it's Manutd who were lucky for being at receiving end of controversial decision

Played off the park? Where are those countless PSG chances in this game then? Or are you Guardiola in disguise and you think ball possession counts as "playing off the park" ?

He is Ince in disguise as all Manutd had to do was to field 11 players.

Sure, focus on the one thing that didn't go your way, and forget about the dozen others in your favor. I'll leave you with your bizarre notion, that PSG were actually the lucky ones, as you're really seem to be invested in it.

Saying they played us off the park for 135 minutes is completely false though. The first half at OT was even and they had a 20 minute spell in the 2nd that won them the game. They were comfortably the better side for 25 minutes in the first half yesterday I'd say. The second half was even, perhaps we were better even as they barely had a chance and were contained relatively easily. We managed the game excellently in the second considering the context.

Not forgetting that we had 10 first team injuries and finished the game with 3 teenagers playing, we also had 5 academy players contribute to the victory.

Go on and point out all the decisions that went our way.

In this game, only team benefited from controversial decision, that's called luck.

I thought he came across as well spoken inthat post match interview.
