Was it an MSM interview ?That interview just highlights how terrible American MSM really is.
Dont fall for it.Never heard of this guy before and he came across as a chump in the interview, but this seems a pretty fair response.
He’s more disingenuos, has a more annoying voice and a more punchable face than the average pub pleb.So he is famous and has millions of viewers because he is a random dude talking about politics? What exactly makes him different to the next random guy in the pub again?
Apparently, he is the Lionel Messi of debating. So he is famous and has millions of viewers because he is a random dude talking about politics? What exactly makes him different to the next random guy in the pub again?
Then no wonder he got destroyed by an Englishman outside of his comfort zone. Dominating domestically against blue-haired college hippie sociology students alone doesn't cut it for the Ballon d'Bate IMO.Apparently, he is the Lionel Messi of debating.
It shows the problem with how Ben Shapiro and his ilk view the world. It was an interview and not a competition so why frame it as winning and losing? Why be so combative when faced with such straightforward questions? And how much preparation does he need to do to explain his own words?Never heard of this guy before and he came across as a chump in the interview, but this seems a pretty fair response.
It was the BBC.Was it an MSM interview ?
More like it...Apparently, he is theLionel MessiNeymar of debating.
Ahh right. Didn't realize UK channels were part of the MSM, which is usually directed at American media. It shows the problem with how Ben Shapiro and his ilk view the world. Really telling that he couldn't handle a simple interview with relatively simple questions. He did, and in the full interview, you can see Neil try to tell him how ridiculous he sounds saying that about 1/3 of the way through the video.
You misunderstood the point @Drifter was making in his post.Ahh right. Didn't realize UK channels were part of the MSM, which is usually directed at American media.
I actually got that bit when I first read his post. The trouble is he rarely appears on US MSM media with the exception of Fox where he's brought on as a propaganda stooge to reinforce their pro-Trump narratives. The MSM reference therefore may have not been entirely appropriate. Shapiro is basically a social media guy who does most of his comedy routine on Twitter and YouTube. You misunderstood the point @Drifter was making in his post.
This interview highlights how terrible the American MSM is because Shapiro wouldn't have been interviewed like this by them.
I've always viewed the term as synonymous with corporate media - as in media organizations owned by large corporations who generally shy away from asking questions that may sit oddly with their corporate owners.Mr facts don’t care about your feelings/the left needs to stop name calling got his feelings hurt and reverted to his only trick-name calling. fecking loser.
@Raoul MSM is directed mainly at US media ...when in America. People in many counties label their own mainstream media “mainstream media” too you know BBC in the UK, RTE in Ireland...
Not sure about ownership, but all major media is run by catering to owners and the ones buying ads from them, so you get similar portrayals of issues that are of importance to corpotate ownership.I've always viewed the term as synonymous with corporate media - as in media organizations owned by large corporations who generally shy away from asking questions that may sit oddly with their corporate owners.

Wonder if he can do it on a cold, rainy night in a Stoke town hall. Then no wonder he got destroyed by an Englishman outside of his comfort zone. Dominating domestically against blue-haired college hippie sociology students alone doesn't cut it for the Ballon d'Bate IMO.
Never heard of Andrew Neil, but I quite like him so far.https://www.bbc.com/news/av/uk-poli...shapiro-terminates-interview-with-andrew-neil
The video is quite funny. What an arrogant little oppressive cnut he is. No one has heard of Andrew Neil?
He's actually very much on the right. Climate change denier, worked for Newcorp and involved in right wing media in the UK. He was just following the BBC format of taking contrary positions to their guests and challenging their ideas.Never heard of Andrew Neil, but I quite like him so far.

One thing that stuck in my mind from the 16 election was an interview of Reince Preibus by Chuck Todd. Preibus, the head if the GOP, finished the interview by saying Hillary Clinton was selling our nation's most precious secrets. Todd's response was we'll leave it there folks. Absolutely fecking pathetic.Just yesterday Anderson Cooper was interviewing Bannon and instead of challenging him on his views, he just let him go on his "globalists are evil" propaganda without even asking him to explain it, since he was talking about China. This after last week late shows on CNN talked about the dangers of nationalism in america. It's such BS.
Indeed... AOC and Sanders policies would be fairly centrist I think in most EU countriesBattle of 2 pricks.
It is funny though, how even a far-right (for European standards) pundit is called a leftist from a far-right American one. Just show the difference in politics between US and Europe.
Angela Merkel is center-right and Germany (under her leadership) has more 'socialist' policies than that commie Sanders want for US.Indeed... AOC and Sanders policies would be fairly centrist I think in most EU countries
Aye, Neil's politics could make Thatcher look like Lenin but the fact he absolutely despises weakness in politicians/pundits no matter what side they're on makes him a brutal interrogator when he's in the mood. He's actually very much on the right. Climate change denier, worked for Newcorp and involved in right wing media in the UK. He was just following the BBC format of taking contrary positions to their guests and challenging their ideas.
This is why people advocating to abolish the BBC worry me (I know it has faults) because we'd end up with a God awful US style partisan media. I'd say it's that media that plays a big part in allowing people like Shapiro to become so prominent.
Was he even that ‘brutal’?Aye, Neil's politics could make Thatcher look like Lenin but the fact he absolutely despises weakness in politicians/pundits no matter what side they're on makes him a brutal interrogator when he's in the mood.
Not sure AOC has any policy that would qualify as center right even for Europe.Angela Merkel is center-right and Germany (under her leadership) has more 'socialist' policies than that commie Sanders want for US.
Thing is that Democrat party in US are a right wing party (not even center-right), Sanders, AOC and Co. are center right while Republicans are fascists.
In what aspect is she more left wing than someone like Angela Merkel who is centre-right? All big things like Medicare for all, high taxes, free college are policies which are in effect in Germany for decades. Not sure AOC has any policy that would qualify as center right even for Europe.
