West Indies were decimated by Australia in the first warm up. Not quite sure about them - having all that hitting power, for me, doesn't make them that strong a team.

This Shahzad guy somehow keeps getting fatter and fatter every time I see him.

First pitch we've seen curated by ICC and spin is already dominating. Nothing like the 720 runs scored in 95 overs on the same ground a week ago.

Commentary squad:

How do the likes of Manjrekar and Raja keep getting picked? At least there's no Shastri, Danny Morrison etc.
Both are them are class. Raja was poor in the beginning but now good voice. I love Manjrekar as co-commentator. He is always class.

it seems that there'll be a concept of away jersies this tournament. India will play in a different color in matches against England and Afghanistan due to jersey clash.

This might be a tournament for team with World Class Spinners. I fear Afghanistan if their batting clicks. They can cause a few upsets.

India is always going to do good watching these wickets gripping. Turn is good and with a little bit of pace. I haven't watched Srilanka for more than a year. No idea how their spinners are.

Pak-Afg. Afg spinners been brilliant and getting assistance from the pitch.
Nabi and Khan are class tbf. Don't really need to pitch assistance to bowl well.

Amla and du Plessis on the wicket, two class and technically gifted. I would like to see their other players against the spin.

Think Saffers won't choke this time particularly I don't think they'll reach the SF.

Can't choke if there's nothing to choke.

Fielding seems to be a major weakness. But yeah, anyone expecting a walk in the park will be in for a major surprise. On their day they can beat anyone.

I hope Pakistan learn how to use reviews by the time WC actually starts.

Oh man, what a start. 24/3... good job we didn't pick anyone who showed good form throughout the IPL.

Rahul, Dhawan, Pant, Kohli, Iyer, Surya Kumar Yadav, Dhoni, Rohit, Pandya, Rahane

Who should we've picked then? Literally it is just Pant from that list who has an argument. All players who are playing today were in the top scorers.

I'd not pick anyone based on IPL form, in any case. Two different things.

The conditions are great - I hope we see more of this.

I don't know about Rahul in ODIs. And for me, Dhawan and Rohit are far too similar to continue opening for India and neither showed great consistency in the IPL.

I'm curious. Who'd you like India to open with then? if you aren't convinced about Rahul, Dhawan etc.

No, what I meant is.. we've picked all players who made runs in the IPL which you were suggesting we did not..
