He is captain of Ajax at 19 and seems very mature. I don’t think it would be about the money for him. I also think he’s intelligent enough to weigh up all the pros and cons of his options and not just fall for the Barca more than a club shite. You don't know that. So far he's only played league football in Holland. The time to make such definitive statements (or not, as the case may be) will when he's had a season or two in a stronger league, up against stronger teams.

At the end of the day, if he comes it would be great. But we still have many other areas that need fixing even more than CB: RB, CDM, CM, RW and ST. While it would be great to land De Ligt, focusing whatever transfer kitty we have in bringing competent talent for those other areas will IMO help move us up the table more than landing De Ligt.
Whatever anyone thinks of LVG, I can't help but admire his way of always making me laugh when answering questions. Even when he looks serious, he still carries a comic personality.
