Oh great, he's laughing at how silly the idea of him coming here is.

To the Maguire thread!

Translate, we just lured those idiots in at United to make big offer, now Barca have offered me more, haha what a bunch of idiots those at United are, as if I was ever going there.

Nice one, good job our well timed denials fooled everyone this time though..

Just feels like AdM. If he comes here, it will be for the money
And if he goes to Barca, what will it be for? Because as far as I'm concerned, 99.9% of players are about the money.

If you think Barca will be offering him peanuts to play for them simply because they are Messilona when he is fully aware that we are proposing a mouth watering weekly wage, then you are in for a big surprise.

De Ligt looks like a commited player wherever he will end up and you can mark my words.

Sounds a bit like the poga Blah Blah Blah, he's trolling. Maybe that's what the ITK said about his signing being a media campaign.

He didn’t even say La Liga, he said Spain.

He’s so uninterested in Barcelona he doesn’t even know the name of the league they play in.

In the unedited version he says the Premier League is great, as the English leagues are all the way down to the Isthmian League formerly known as the Bostick League. Spain too I suppose.
Definately, they are all signs.

Its on

He literally said us offering him a massive contract is rubbish. What more do you need to stop believing?

He’s only mentioned us and a reported salary, then says “would you take it?” And laughs it off.

That to me sounds like a man who has an agreement in principal with Barcelona but is waiting for us to table a bid with a big salary offer. Hence all this waiting until after the nations league.

Would make sense with all the reports saying we’re not interested because we think he’s already going to Barcelona.

He’s already said the PL is his preferred destination. We’ve got this if we want it enough.

Such nonsense. Same as anyone who has a choice of perspective employers. You weigh up all the factors. For plebs like us, it's commute time, hours, promotion prospects as well as moolah, for these guys there are a different set of criteria but they all feed into the decision nonetheless. Anyone who has paid any attention to this guy knows he's an intelligent, grounded chap. If he ends up here, he'll roll his sleeves up and get to work.

Whatever anyone thinks of LVG, I can't help but admire his way of always making me laugh when answering questions. Even when he looks serious, he still carries a comic personality.
Between him, Moyes and Mourinho, he's the only one I genuinely felt sorry for when things got tough. His football was as dull as dishwater but at least he looked like he cared.

In his own video he says "First we have two games (meaning Netherlands) and after that I see what happens next"

He speaks in English, is looking at the camera while talking about PL, and looks away when he speaks about Spain (probably because he know how funny that is, that he'll give it away), mentions Premier league and not England, like he did for Spain.
He's coming here guys!!!

If de Ligt gets offered such a high salary there will be a queue at Woodward office of players demanding parity. This despite being not as talented. Then the sulking begins and ultimately tools are downed.

There's only really Pogba who could ask for parity, if he was on more than £300k a week that is, which is highly doubtable.

Odds change with betting patterns, unless it’s absolute landslide odds I wouldn’t read too much into it
I’ve been keeping an eye on the odds Barca were even money until Sky said we’re not interested. Some people take Sky as gospel still.

Is it possible for them to down tools more than they’ve done the last 2 months?

Unless we've bundled in with 500k a week I can't believe they couldn't give him a colossal increase on his Ajax wad.
But I suppose this is our main way of getting him. Hoping Barcelona are us in the Fergie end days, hoping the name of the club was enough.

Who’ll be in this queue out of interest?

Why do people keep saying this? You really think people that don't deserve the money will be able to go, "because de Ligt" when the club asks why they want a pay rise? Most of these players don't have a leg to stand on. Pogba and De Gea will be on more anyway and the rest will have no argument. Anyone else that tries anything can go.

Ever tried walking into your bosses office and saying "I want a pay rise because the new guy is on more than me". You'd get laughed out.

its pretty snide liking the united social media stuff and fanning the frenzy if he aint coming
Have to agree. It doesn't really seem his personality to go fan the flames like that. It does fit with the idea that United are trying to create this rumor frenzy before making it official.
