Anything is possible, the Ajax players clearly love their club. Having said that if Liverpool were looking for a CB I could really see him ending up there, would tick all the boxes he has stated..... scarey thought.
If he is ready to snub Barca for an English club, City will be favouriites to land him: Guardiola, style of play, money, great squad, etc. I guess City are not mentioned because they know de Ligt is Barca bound.

Probably just a matter of time, as people say Barca need players out.

You don't actually believe that do you? We had a scout that recommended him and De Jong when they were 15. He quit apparently off the back of being ignored
He was let go during Butt's overhaul of the academy.

I don't think they'd offer him the wages we would or the additional fees to the agent. Maybe they would, but then even after that you have to assume he's a guaranteed starter. Seems a no brainer but I don't think Liverpool would go all out for him when they have Gomez as a great partner for VVD as it stands.

They will likely recruit in other areas I reckon.

I'm better than Messi (even though I'm not)
Is it an option to tar and feather the scout that put Man United off De Ligt last year because of fears of the player becoming fat? Because I sure as hell hope that scout is both an expert in nutrition and a medical doctor to be able to deliver such a in depth review of a players physiology.
Did this actually happen? The incompetence at this club seems endless at the moment

Unfortunately it seems that Ole is desperate to give shite like that as much minutes as possible.
He used the players at his disposal, it's not as if some special talents ready for senior football were available to him.

He is playing this well in fairness to him, not committing himself and saying he likes the premiership and la liga and there are other leagues. he also shows a lot of respect for Ajax so another year there is still a possibility . If Barca can find money behind the Sofa and sell off their disposable players I would say he is Barca Bound if not who knows ? might see Liverpool and City re-engage . The timing of the tournament plays in his favour as he has time to see if Barca can Cough up and weigh up his options .

Every single person living and breathing on the face of this planet is aware that eating healthy and exercising stops you from being fat, regardless of what your parents look like. It's time we stopped believing any old bollocks as gospel.

So England play Holland on June 6th. Someone needs to keep a watchful eye on any of the United players talking to him. We need a lip reading expert at the ready also.

Funnily enough with this fat acceptance movement a lot of obese people have convinced themselves they have no idea why they’re fat. It’s not common sense to everyone, trust me. Anyway that’s a whole other topic, don’t wanna derail the thread

Are there any United players? If so, he will surely go to Barca after seeing them.

Doubt Liverpool are in for him. Having said that, he’s Barcelona bound for sure. Just trying to get himself the best deal possible at Barcelona. We’re merely a negotiation tool. Thinking he’d join us in our current state is just naive.

All his comments point to a move to United imo. But he might be saying all this to get a better offer from Barca too. Right now, I would say he's leaning towards United and unless Barca up their offer, he'll join us.

I hope Barca simply don't have the money to give him the deal he wants. They are already well above their head as far as wages go. If they are planning to get Griezmann too, they might hopefully opt out of meeting De Ligt's demands.

Ole can only work with what he has. I hope the new deals given to Jones and Smalling are only to not lose them on cheap and at best as back up options.

This is going to be a long drawn out Saga, only the strongest will survive
I think we'll know by June 15 max. Both teams have already made their bids so the player's decision is the only thing that's holding things back.

Clear as day, he's coming to us.

None of this CL talk. Nothing about any one club being his dream; Ajax was his dream and that's been a reality. Time to focus on his career. Has a cheeky side to him that's endearing - likes to toy with journos...as opposed to cryptic comments and interviews that's as straight an answer you'll get. And most of all, we know he likes the Premier League.

If we're in for him and the likes of Stam, Rio, VDS, Blind are talking up United and Ole really sells the team plan to him then I can see it happening over Barca.

This is what I've noticed the most. So many of these saga's are about players wanting to move to a CL club, but he hasn't mentioned this once. Obviously it would be important in the long run, but that's why I think he's coming here. Maybe Raiola has told him to leave it out so Barca increase their offer though.

If he was to choose barca he would already be holding their shirt by now. Either he's coming to united or staying one more year.

I can see that happening shortly after his last match for Ajax. I think he'd like to finish the right way, rather than playing as Ajax captain, already signed for another club.

Feel like he's coming to United. The way he talks about playing time and development, then goes onto talk down the United offer. Sounds to me like he's trying to tell us (the general public) he's not a money grubber.

Says he'll make decision after Nations Cup waste of space tournament. Sounds to me as if he's giving Barca time to improve their offer. It would be a huge coup if we got him but if he was really keen on us, I think he might have at least hinted at it (like Zlatan did)

If he goes to Barcelona he has to share playing time with Pique/Lenglet for the first season and then probably be a first team player in his second season.
If he goes to us he has to play Europa League in his first season but he will definitely be a first team player and possibly captain in his second or third season.
