We shouldn't be overpaying for Maguire though because we need one. He's not an £80m player. It's just adding more problems for us long term.

If we want Koulibally or De Ligt and can't get either then stick with what we have plus Tuanzebe and improve other areas of the team Instead this summer.
I agree, we shouldn't overspend on Maguire, but we really do need a centre back. It's probably our worst area (or at least tied )

Maybe Bailly is being given a final chance and Tuanzebe is ready. Who knows.

Don't want us breaking the world record for a defender for Maguire though. Will set a truly awful precedent again for us. Every fairly good player will cost £80m.

While i agree £80m is too much for Maguire, there are a lot of options between Koulibally/DeLight and what we currently have that could improve us. We really can't go into another season with Bailly/Rojo/Jones as regular options and just hope for the best. We should sell Rojo and Bailly, buy a CB and promote Tuanzebe.

Honestly why even trust an article or a journalist that can't even fecking spell a name correctly? feck me I'm so sick of half assed morons working in the media that literally have no clue or can't even take pride in their professsion.

Would I be wrong in thinking Diaby's well rated? I've heard his name pop up before.
He is probably the best U20 in France and he should have been the one replacing Neymar when he injured himself instead of changing the organization which totally derailed PSG's season. I wouldn't be surprised if they are doing a "Lo Celso", they should sell the likes of Draxler.

No it's not. Maguire improves us in a position we desperately need.

Won't cost 90m either - load of bollocks.
Hang on. Why would he cost less? Leicester don't need money, they are in a position where they don't have to sell him. The only way that they would sell is for a world record fee. Why sell for less? Not as if there are a shed load of quality options at CB on the market. In fact, there isn't a less well stocked position, hence the numbers being banded around.

Wesley Moraes (22) leaves Club Brugge for Aston Villa. Transfer fee of €25m.

Great piece of business for Villa.

I'm no French football expert, but I've definitely heard his name a lot as one to watch (mostly from friends who pay close attention to Ligue 1). Leverkusen has a solid track record of buying young talent and developing them into great players - this could turn out to be another great buy for them.

He'll leave and it won't be for £90m.

80m pounds? How about we offer that to Inter for Skriniar for example, are they going to refuse?
Skriniar would, given that he recently sacked his agent for trying to engineer a move and then negotiated his new contract himself.

We should have moved for him a couple years ago before Leicester did, but unfortunately we waited and now have to pay a bigger fee. The thing is though, even though he's not worth that much, that's how much you pay for one of the top defenders in the game. And yes, he is one of the top defenders out there. Not only that, but being English most likely means he won't be pushing to play for another club in a couple of years like some foreign players might...

Thanks for the information, if they keep hold of Havertz next season Leverkusen could be quite an interesting team to watch. Diaby sounds like quite a player in the making, I'll keep my eye on him.

What a crap read. Maguire and AWB are all that are mentioned!
Still a lot of time left in the window but if the club don't give Ole what he needs, he's destined for failure. One thing is certain, it's going to be a long season.

Sheffield United are going to make an absolute mess of this if they keep going for the likes of Ribery and Valencia. They should be moreso looking for strong Championship players.

Isn’t Valencia well past it now? Good to have someone with experience around though.

Its totally against Wilders usual policy. We target players who are POTY at their clubs too.

Agree with this. People are too caught up with the prices.
Harry Maguire is a good player, there has to be a limit to what you pay on any player. We need a new CB or we are fcked again this year without one. The planning is shocking if we end up paying 75m plus for Maguire. Two summers to bring in a CB and this is what we do.
