I listen to shit-loads of podcasts. In addition to those already mentioned, I would recommend.
The Adam Buxton Podcast: One half of Adam & Joe, friend of Louis Theroux and very funny man. Witty, rambling interviews with comedians, movie people and musicians.
Ear Hustle: Produced inside San Quentin jail (co-hosted by a prisoner) and packed full of fascinating (sometimes funny, sometimes grim) anecdotes about life inside.
Heavyweight: The presenter helps people right past wrongs. First episode is
an old friend of Moby's who is pissed off that Moby borrowed one of his CDs to use as samples for all his biggest hits, then never gave them back. They duly chase Moby down to his home in the Hollwood Hills and confront him...
Caliphate: Brilliant NYT piece of investigative journalism into what life was really like as a member of ISIS. I binged the hell out of it.
The Blindboy Podcast: Absolutely massive in Ireland and gaining traction around the world. A bloke with a plastic bag on his head waxing lyrical about life, the universe and everything. Sounds a bit odd/parochial but you don't need to be Irish to appreciate it (isn't that right,
@JPRouve ?)
Homecoming: A radio play starring Catherine Keener, Oscar Isaac and David Schwimmer about a pharmaceutical trial that goes awry. Atmospheric and gripping.
