I get the guy is going through problems but at the end of the day he is on over 100k a week.

No second chances. Sell.

He needs to move for the good of both parties. Needs to find his own self and his level. He is staying in his comfort zone collecting his wage packet.

United have given him a great life and chances. He’s feeling sorry for himself but sometimes people need a wake up call.

We need around 3 - 4 new midfielders quickly if we are a serious club.

Yet again, the match at 0-0 and his lack of vision and ability has direct implication to the outcome of the game. A pass to James isn't even a bad option, but it was underhit and slightly behind him, just like every pass he seems to make these days.

Solskjaer just had another press conference, didn't seem to be a question about Lingard. How his awful, awful continued inclusion in the starting line up goes on without question is piss poor journalism. Everything related to the current squad seems to be about Pogba, these jokers like Lingard are escaping the spotlight yet again.

Is the ss from this scene?

Yeah, looks like Martial wasn't as good an option as I originally thought.
However the eventual weight of pass to James kills the move, like all his passes, underhit and taking the player away from the chance, not leading him into it.

Jlingz blind specs? Seriously?

He's never been good enough, but for the majority of the last couple of years he's been the best option that we had already in our squad. Obviously that's due to how poor his competitor has been and how poor we've been in the transfer market, but it doesn't negate the fact that he was the best option for the majority of that time. I've also been pointing out how incredibly bad he's been this season right from our second pre-season game. Does that sound like somebody who has 'Jlingz blind specs'?
He was abysmal long before that, last season, bar the 5-6 games where he scored or assisted he was shocking. Even the season under Mourinho when we finished 2nd he has something like 2 goals after the turn of the year, one of them on January 1st.

He was never our best option, for one reason or another absolutely shambolic management by Mourinho and Ole gave him way more game time that he deserved.

If you can't see the difference between his form this season and his general form over the last few years, you are obviously letting your hatred for him blind you to reality. Previously he certainly wasn't good enough, but his workrate, movement and pressing ability at least provided something to the team, and he was decent at working one-twos in small spaces to help move us forward. That has all completely disappeared right from the very beginning of the season and he now provides absolutely nothing.

If he wasn't our best option, who was?

Honestly, the only difference I see is in his goal contribution. His general play is still the same. He still drifts around doing nothing, still presses like a headless chicken. The truth about him is people joke about it, but he would actually fit in the championship. His only saving grace is that for a large portion of the season, somehow Pereira was worse.

The only time Pereira was worse (and even then it's debatable) was the few games he played in central midfield. The rest of the season Pereira has been comfortably better in the #10 role.

Unless you are talking about last season? In which case both Pereira and Mata were worse.

I've been following United since 1963. I've never rated Lingard, save for a two months purple patch two years ago. His form this season is easily the worst I have ever seen from a United player over a prolonged period of time. He offers absolutely nothing to the team. His goal and assist stats say it all. Apart from that, he cannot make a challenge without committing a silly foul, so offers no defensive qualities either. All he does is run around the pitch with no end product and gets paid £100,000 each week.

I've been supportive of Ole, but his continued inclusion of Lingard is inexcusable and a major factor in us under achieving. No goals, no assists from our no. 10 in over a year says it all.

Here we go, if you can’t admit that now Lingard is even shittier than the previous shit version it’s your hatred? How about you admit that his “general form” in the last few years was pretty abysmal bar about 10% of his games? The criticism and pressure finally catching up with his childish persona and affecting even his previous shit output is just the natural outcome that was expected.

Best option for what exactly? He was never our best option for any position he could play.

The issue for me is some people think he should be a squad player. How’s he going to contribute as a squad player when he barely does as a starter? He should be moved on.

Never been good enough. Has the strength of a five year old. Has no real pace as he always gets caught whenever he seems to be through probably because he shits himself. Can’t dribble or pass to save his life. He just runs around a bit and is from academy which what it takes these days for some fans to get excited.

The confidence is completely shot.

The more it plays the worse it gets, the Ole has to realise this and the best option is for him to take some time out of the firing line.

We do not have a squad but playing Lingard week in week out with no joy will make things worse. He can only gain it back once the team is playing well.
Exactly. Maybe throw him in off the bench if we are winning by two goals. This would have been a brilliant excuse to play Gomez more than we've seen him but I guess hes off instead.

Might be due to having such limited options? I’m certain Lingard wouldn’t be anywhere near the first team if we had a fully fit squad. I’m sure Ole will consider this to be a priority position to fill in the summer, once Pogba is gone.

He was serious. It was early last season, Mahrez had a slow start at City and Lingard was coming off his decent 17-18 season. He was pissed at Pep for starting Mahrez more than Sane, he loves Sane.

With that being said, Mahrez at his worst >>>>>>>>>> Lingard at his best
Well I could see why he's prefer Sane over Mahrez but both of them are good players, Lingard is average at his best

He wasn't good enough, but he wasn't abysmal. Abysmal is what he has been this season.

Considering he played mostly on the right, who was better than him there? Or at #10? And considering we regularly played both he'd need to be replaced for both roles. For the #10 I'd say Pogba should have been playing that role in a different system and it was mismanagement that kept him deeper, but otherwise who was better?

It’s hard to even consider him as a professional footballer anymore. I am confident Rooney, or when Ole himself can come on the pitch and make more impact than him.

But he doesn't pick himself, and that's completely on the manager. To pick him over Periera who had just started playing decently is idiotic.

He was pretty shit, even though he wasn't as bad as he has been this season, not decent, decent is what James is when he is not assisting or scoring. Only the blind and his fan club could not see what a hindrance he was with his lack of quality in such a influential position on the pitch. We could have played with a front 3 of Martial/Rashford/Lukaku but for one reason or another Mourinho always found a way to not use Martial or Rashford, then even Alexis was a better option than him. There was the option of the academy lads that are still overlooked while Lingard finds his way in the starting line up.

You only needed to watch him play, and it was very evident that he was and still is a very limited footballer, who shouldn't be playing for Manchester United. Trying to tell us how he was decent and provided something is imo still very far from the actual performances he was putting on show, way before this season.

Sell in the summer, he's atrocious as a footballer. This is what United have been reduced to.

Martial has been absolutely terrible on the right every time he's played there, and Lukaku would throw a fit if he had to play there more than the odd game (plus his lack of workrate was an obvious issue). That leaves Rashford who has had the occasional good game on the right but more often than not looks completely lost. I'll grant you that I would have been interested to see that combination occasionally just to see if it did work, but I highly doubt it would have. Alexis? While I personally would have liked to have seen him put on the right for a while when he first got here, he was worse on his preferred left than Lingard was on the right. He was closer to Lingard's form this season, plus he tended to drag every other player down around him.

As for the academy, Greenwood was too young before this season and Chong has struggled to make any impact even this season so would have had it even more difficult a year or two ago. Maybe Gomes could have got some opportunities when we're talking the #10 role, but Ole's not even playing him this season.

As such it was basically Lingard and Mata competing for it. Neither good enough, but most of the time Lingard was the better option of the two.

Absolutely agree, although I do think he was a decent squad player. He obviously shouldn't have been a starter, but (exactly like Pereira is at the moment) he was better than our other options so got it by default.

What Bugs me about this club is that the reason Lingard started the game on Wednesday and not Pereira is simply to help Lingard find some "form". We are conducting ourselves like a Charity organisation and not a football club.
Even at the pre game interview with Ole his answer to Lingard starting over an inform Pereira in a very important fixture for us was something like: "Yeah he's had a rough year and he is usually good against Arsenal so hopefully he'll have a good game". That's just messed up management. The whole nice guy ole, nice club behaviour that adores every home grown player no matter how they preform needs to stop.

Sympathy for his mother's situation but lets not dwell on bullshit. He's been shite for most of his time here.
The last two years have been nothing short of a disgrace.

Yeah, looks like Martial wasn't as good an option as I originally thought.
However the eventual weight of pass to James kills the move, like all his passes, underhit and taking the player away from the chance, not leading him into it.
The reason Martial is no.longer the best option is because he dwells dwells on the ball. He spots Martial early and it's a foot rate between Martial and those CBs with Martin having the advantage.
At the point he passes to James, it's my h easier to cover him so even if the pass was perfect, I think those defenders deal with the situation easily.

Martial's run needed an immediate (albeit tough pass) because the Arsenal defenders closed that space quickly, however what he did after was terrible

He was never good or decent or a squad option. Some of us have been saying it from day one. He did a couple of decent things and his fans have been dining on them ever since.
Ole starting him based on hope and "usually has a good game against Arsenal" is the type of abysmal management I expect to see from kids when thinking about who to pick on FIFA.

Does anybody even buy JLingz stuff in the first place? I wouldn't be seen dead wearing it.
One month ago I saw an ad of his brand in the Berlin metro. It seems that he has invested alot in this thing. However, i haven't seen anyone wearing it in Athens, northern Italy nor in Berlin. Maybe, he is trying to expand now.

Careful now, he was picked by world class managers, not just Ole.

It’s not idiotic. Pereira has been inconsistent, Ole’s plan is to rotate that no 10 because he has no one good.

Ole picks him to give him chances to redeem himself, which is fair enough but he continuously performed badly with zero end product even against Arsenal who is normally Jesse played good.

Going to need him now with all the injuries and games we have. Ole need to do something with him to get him going. New instructions or just light some fire under him.

I take a twisted satisfaction that his performances will kill his shit brand.
Imagine hating a person for having a business outside of his dayjob. It's like you think he's actually working there.
