Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Got back from abroad myself (not China tbf) and been bed bound for days. Can't remember ever being this sick since I was a kid. Doc confirmed it's influenza, so while not the corona virus it seems whatever is in the air is probably facilitating the spread of all forms of flu. Maybe just a coincidence I guess. Honestly been feeling like bullet in my brain would have been more humane than what I've been feeling thus far.

Hope everyone manages to stay healthy as much as possible.
Be well mate, ibuprofen, fresh fruit and vegetables, water.

Keep us up to date how you're doing, and if it gets worse / changes don't hesitate to contact healthcare again.

Supposed to be the like the flu x10, isn't it?
Varying reports from Chinese people who've been cured. One guy didn't feel a thing, the other almost coughed his lungs out and had pain/itching feelings all across his body. The only Belgian who's had the virus so far (male in his 50s) also didn't have as much as a sneeze during his quarantaine.

The most common factors are coughing '(85%) and fever (85%) from what I've read.

And also don't forget to tell them you're a Liverpool fan @Redplane
Maybe I could travel TO Liverpool. Especially the Anfield dressing room.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone and yeah I've been trying every possible drink and pill and supplement there is. Good luck to those of you who are also saying you re bed bound. Wish I could bounce back as easily as a young kid can.

MSNBC are running with the Bat theory...currently looking through the archives to see if Bernie Sanders has ever advocated for bat soup.

Im booked to fly to Edinburgh from Luton on Monday. I have quite bad anxiety and don’t wanna go but my Mrs needs a break and she’s be gutted if we didn’t. She’s not concerned by this and of course I am going off my nut about it. Sigh.

You’re as safe in Edinburgh as you are in Luton

Some stats from Italy, which I would say are the most reliable we have so far. They dont lie about it, and they have enough cases to make a meaningful sample:

400 cases confirmed
12 dead - all elderly with other serious illnesse
3 healed
128 in hospital with symptoms
36 in intensive care
221 in isolation at home

It's worth remembering that these so called first cases have lag time. They're probably infected numerous people already and those people have infected others and only few of them would be experiencing symptoms.

This is why social media is it's own worse enemy a quick look at that without reading the axis would have a person thinking the death rate is enormous and rising out of control when in reality when plotted on the same graph with the same axis its night and day

If it does become a pandemic it might make Brits a bit more protective of the NHS.
I was thinking there are so many benefits of this is indeed a media hoohaa. Firstly, cnuts learning to wash their hands and secondly covering their mouths when coughing or sneezing. NHS is a good one too.

I'm buying latex gloves tomorrow and putting my black gloves over them everytime I go out. Using only contactless and one card in the shop. Buying disinfectants for my house keys etc. Leaving my phone at home for short trips to the shop.

It's here in Norway now.

The patient came back from China this weekend and isolated him/herself almost immediately. He/she is already 100% recovered.

Maybe we're better just accepting we're getting it eventually, but with the likelihood all will be good, I can't say I'm too worried.

I’ve been doing this for years anyway. Before contactless I would use the butt of my key or the edge of another card to punch the code.

Wouldn’t it be awful if they suspend the EPL this season? Imagine not being able to finish the 2019/20 season because of a virus. It’s almost to horrible to contemplate, mmmmm... *sigh*

With you on this, I saw an interview with the guy in Brighton who had it and he just said it was like a bad cold but was fine after a few days.

I dunno eh... all those xenophobes getting all Brexcited over Eastern European and brown Middle Eastern folk - and it turns out the biggest threat to us was people traveling to and from China...

For most people yeah. But if you have older parents/grandparents it might not be like that for them.

I read that regular seasonal flu kills up to 600,000 people worldwide each year. How much worse is this so far in comparison?
