The data from 2010 does not separate general from acute, and the data before is not adjusted for population. Not in England they didn't. Acute beds fell from 108k to 101k during that period (-7%). Geriatric and acute fell from 136k to 122k (-10%). From 2010 to now geriatric and acute (there are no individual figures) have fallen from 122k to 101k (-17%).
You can find the exact info here: https://www.england.nhs.uk/statisti...vailability-and-occupancy/bed-data-overnight/
This is silly. He's the man responsible for our poor testing capacity. Of course people are entitled to an opinion over whether he should get tested when we don't have the capacity to test nurses. Please refrain from the daft arguing about why the PM of this country should be tested or not. We did that when talking about the heir to the fecking throne the other day.
stupid feckwitts may see the need to question it, yes. This is silly. He's the man responsible for our poor testing capacity. Of course people are entitled to an opinion over whether he should get tested when we don't have the capacity to test nurses.
Wonder how he's got that info. I thought data protection/phone companies holding info secure would prevent that?Tweet

If it was everywhere... why are so many of the tests coming back negative when the UK is testing/Boris too? This is rife. It’s absolutely everywhere.
Think the bloke from Imperial was bang on, gonna be countrywide in a couple of weeks. We’ll soon see if herd immunity is a thing or not.
Raab takes over if Boris can't do the job, in the short term, I believe.Who's first in line? JRM?
Because he's the Prime Minister. It would a dereliction of duty if he tried to "be a gentleman" and not take a test. He would have the money to pay for one privately anyway.
So? Why can't he self isolate from having symptoms and pass the duty on for the isolation period? We are already taking the piss on our testing whilst our underfunded NHS doctors nurses and pharmacists are around covid patience 18 hours a day, and this warrants a test more? He could have self isolated if he had symptoms - why can't he do that? Why does he need a test? His symptoms were mild, he's not in a dangerous age category, he doesnt appear to have underlying health problems.FFS, he’s the prime minister

Saw them last summer. Something to look forward to (or rather would have been).Christ! I was planning to see them this summer.
Baffling. For better or worse he is in charge of the country, of course hes going to get bloody tested quicklyPeople seriously taking issue with the fact that Johnson was able to get tested so quickly?!
That's what he is doing. You cannot seriously argue he shouldn't have been tested. So? Why can't he self isolate from having symptoms and pass the duty on for the isolation period?
don't you think it's important to test the Prime Minister? Why did Borris feel the need to test himself if he had mild symptoms? There are doctors Pharmacists and nurses who aren't tested and this bellend needs a test from mild symptoms?
stupid feckwitts may see the need to question it, yes.
oh dear. I suppose it's worth trying but I wish him and his family the best. I wouldn't mind if he was incapacitated for a week though and then we give it Raabsy till the end of the season.
Raab takes over if Boris can't do the job, in the short term, I believe.
Thanks guys. While not ideal that's better than JRM, although I was kinda looking forward to the government recommendations of bloodletting, leaches and the like.Raab
The man who didn't realise dover was an important part of our food supply lines, and thought Lima was in Singapore.
The data is still anonymized, you just know there's a cellphone user there, not who they are and what their mobile number is. Cell companies routinely sell that data, same as credit card companies selling your purchase history, internet companies, apps, social networks etc selling your logging habits etc.Wonder how he's got that info. I thought data protection/phone companies holding info secure would prevent that?
At first glance, I saw all the hotspots and thought "why have all those Spring Breakers come to Europe?" but I'm guessing hotspots are ALL shown here (white)?
Reminds me I'm fortunate to live rurally.
Well first it means that the world would become a slightly better place. If Johnson dies, does that mean more people will take it seriously and fewer people will die overall?
yes - though apparently there is "lobbying" for gove to take over ... (presumably because is a horrible power obsessed opportunistic tosser)Raab takes over if Boris can't do the job, in the short term, I believe.
he Foreign Secretary would lead the country if Boris Johnson became unwell during the coronavirus crisis. The Prime Minister’s official spokesman confirmed that Dominic Raab would stand in were the PM to get sick. The spokesman said: ‘The Prime Minister is well… the Foreign Secretary is the First Secretary of State.’ If Mr Raab was also ill, the PM has the power to delegate responsibility to any of his ministers, the spokesman added. It comes amid reported ‘lobbying’ for Michael Gove, the cabinet office minister and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, to temporarily take over as a stand-in prime minister if needed or if he takes paternity leave when his child is born later this year.
That's what he is doing. You cannot seriously argue he shouldn't have been tested.
don't you think it's important to test the Prime Minister?
aside from the fact he's an important politician, he must surely meet loads of people on a daily basis who'd want to know if he tested positive
Relax, I'm asking from a logistical standpoint because I thought he was doing a lot of his work remotely since a few days ago. No need to get sassy @Grinner, save your name calling for somewhere else.oh dear.
Hopefully because they’ve already had the virus and it’s left their system. Big hope I knowIf it was everywhere... why are so many of the tests coming back negative when the UK is testing/
It would have stopped Charlie Austin from preaching at us.What do you think has been happening in workplaces across the entire country for weeks and months? Stopping just Cheltenham in isolation would do sweet feck all.
Presumably 'reported' by Sarah Vine.yes - though apparently there is "lobbying" for gove to take over ... (presumably because is a horrible power obsessed opportunistic tosser)

Because he is running the feckkng country ffs. Whether we agree with what he’s doing or like him or whateverSo? Why can't he self isolate from having symptoms and pass the duty on for the isolation period? We are already taking the piss on our testing whilst our underfunded NHS doctors nurses and pharmacists are around covid patience 18 hours a day, and this warrants a test more? Because, he holds the most important post in the country, I really shouldn’t have to explain it to you.So? Why can't he self isolate from having symptoms and pass the duty on for the isolation period? We are already taking the piss on our testing whilst our underfunded NHS doctors nurses and pharmacists are around covid patience 18 hours a day, and this warrants a test more? For the record I only reported this as I feel mods like yourself should set a better examplestupid feckwitts may see the need to question it, yes.
