I don't know why, but I can see him start for Barca next season. New contract and earning a PL Squad's value per week
Barca need to move on.. and rebuild. they are also skint.

I think they'll be happy for him to go.. just wouldnt like him to leave on a free.

How reliable is the turkish A Spor channel?
I wonder what are people's thoughts on Fred. There is a player in him, but I'm not sure the top quality is there.
I thought at times last season he was man of the match for a few games and generally played well, I wouldn't let him go and can only see him getting better

I like him he's a grafer but ultimately I feel he's nowhere near a top level player. He had some good games last season but became very overrated due to our lack of options.

As for why Chelsea wouldn't go for him over Silva on a stopgap? I know we all think FFP is dead, but they still gotta pretend to follow it, Silva was on a free, Upa would be another 60m outlay.

In all honesty, they still need two more CBs to be really competitive. You can't rely on a 36-year-old CB to play too many games this season, and the remaining CBs in their squad - Rudiger/Christiansen/Zouma - are clowns.
With Roman splashing the cash, they could get one more CB this window, particularly if Kepa cannot be moved on.

Dayot Upamecano is a fantastic young prospect. We should move for him swiftly. FFP is a joke. I think we can stop talking about it altogether.

Looks like done: £72m initially + 9m attainable addons + 9m for winning the Champions League in the next 5 years = £90m.

They've got a cracking player who has the potential to be the best attacking player in England in a few years' time.

They've bought five players in the window (among six recruits) who will be playing for the first-eleven in one or two months' time - Werner (definitely), Havertz (definitely), Silva (definitely), Ziyech (definitely), Chilwell (definitely). When was the last time that happened to a top team in recent times? Can't remember.
Chelsea are being asked for the the exact same initial fee that Dortmund want for Sancho (80 mil euro). I just think the subsequent installments are a bit less and Leverkusen are not in the CL. Overall, not an entirely different situation. It's just that Chelsea are paying and we are not.
Dortmund want a total package worth €140m, which is ridiculous in this climate.

Would you let him go if there was an opportunity to get Thiago, personally I don't think there is but just wanted to ask the question

If Havertz is worth £90m in this climate, why would a younger, more talented English player not be worth £120m?
Being 'English' alone increases the fee by 20-25% in every single transfer.

Difference is that Chelsea paid just a bit over £70m initial fee while if we believe the reports, Dortmund want £110m flat fee and are not even willing to negotiate.

So? He's their player, they can do what they want.

All reports suggested that they want €120m (80 + 20 + 20) instead of more installments, although Romano has changed the narrative a tiny bit and they supposedly want the money now.

"Manchester United have received a message by BVB... €120m or you’ll not get Sancho. It’s up to Man Utd. Let’s see what they’ll decide. BVB will not accept bids like €80m+20+20 in four or five years. "

Come on mate. That's an Aug 19 tweet. Don't mess with Sancho emotions.

Romano is saying they don't want it in 4 or 5 years because we were supposedly offering conditional add-ons i.e winning CL etc which could be 5 years, could be 10 years, could be 1 year. By most accounts they want 80+20+20 over this summer & the 2 following summers.

Romano literally said they will not accept bids like €80m+20+20.
He also specifically said on 4-5 years, which means he's probably referring to clauses like winning the CL and winning the golden boot

My thoughts too. There was some hype around his good run of form, but I never caght in.
I know he cost a good chunk - around 50, I am not sure how much would tempt us to let him go. The article suggests we would listen if suitable offers came.

Havertz telling Leverkusen that he definitely wants to leave this summer is another difference. All in all Leverkusen's hand was quite a bit weaker than Dortmunds in comparison.

Well exactly which means they want all or a majority of fee paid right now or 1-2 years max and without it being based on bonuses I think which is a huge difference to Havertz transfer which is £70m + £20m potential bonuses.

Augsburg's Stefan Reuter makes it clear that PSV or any other club would have to pay the full price for Philipp Max.

This may seem like old news, but Emerson is still expected to be on his way out of Chelsea according to his agent.

Agent quotes:
[Any] Chance he will leave Chelsea? Yes, this possibility exists. I haven’t talked to the London club yet. I can only say that Inter are interested in the player. We’ll see…

Re: Guendouzi

Wait, only 16 million pounds for him?

Why aren't we all over this?!

He's miles better then VDB and just what we need, an energetic young defensive midfielder.

What, his personality isn't the best?

We know that Volland will be going to Monaco, but here are some more details on that transfer:

Translation:
#Volland It's [Volland's transfer] almost done for Monaco for 15.5 million Euros with bonuses included. 4-year contract for the player. Monaco and Leverkusen finalise the final details. A medical visit is expected for Wednesday in Monaco.

Details on the Havertz transfer fee breakdown:

80 million Euros up front

This was their initial bid according to the article:
An initial bid of €65m (£58.6m) plus €15m in add-ons was rejected in July but it is understood that Chelsea have now agreed a deal that will surpass the club record £71.6m paid for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in 2018 if addons are included.
