I forgot how bad redcafe match day threads were when your game is the only one on tv.

Not watching the game so can't comment if it's true but from what i'm reading Spurs are just waiting to counter attack all the time? Gary Neville says their midfield is having no influence at all. Or is it that Everton are actually pretty good?

Was obviously going to be the last play before HT

You're probably right but currently, I think if you were to ask most Everton fans who their best player was, he'd certainly be up there.
Richarlison is our best player but that’s the caf for you. Miss one chance and you’re suddenly Freddy Adu.

Nonsense, Tottenham have had most of the possession. The last 15 mins has mostly been in Everton's half.

That was so stupid by Son at the end. Ridiculous. Time for Kane to let him know who’s boss with 200 inaudible words mixed with some f-words thrown in there.

Otherwise, Spurs have been quite shit and Everton decent. James motm by a mile so far.

James and Allan both have looked pretty good.

Spurs have no control in midfield but the front 3 are doing decently well. Doherty looks a solid addition.

tumescent half of football by two managers who don't belong in the modern game

For Everton if ever a side was setup to play 442 diamond it's them. Waste of time Richarlison and James playing wide. James needs to be in the hole feeding Richarlison and DCL

Why is that?
People sneer at pens, but they don't at tap ins, which are generally easier.
Its not about it being easier. Its not a natural part of the game. Its an easy way for players to stat pad and doesn't show any brilliance during the game. Tap ins still require you to be in the right position. Vardy did feck all and has scored two goals.

Apart from the Pool-Leeds game I have not really enjoyed any games so far.
Feel so flat without any crowd. Teams are also not fully ready for a new season.

Very flat performance from both teams so far. James has been pretty anonymous.
Which game are you watching?

It's been pretty much end to end, and James is actually playing quite well.

Everton controlling the midfield but struggling to get it to the forwards in good positions, their best chance has still been the one from an opposition backpass. Spurs making the better opportunities with their counters

Allan will be a class addition to the Everton midfield. Totally in control and dictating things when they're on the ball. James showed his class but didn't assert himself on the game as much as he needs to. He is wasted out wide, in my opinion - need him a little more central where he can feed the strikers more easily. Spurs look like a classic Jose team. Solid defensively, no midfield presence at all, but extremely dangerous on the counter. Game could go either way.

He will probably have a Bojan-like mini revival and then fade off terribly.
Nah, he'll probably stand out like a sore thumb as he's that good but when the crowds come back, he'll most likely go up another gear.
