Not that I’m disagreeing with your overall meaning (that HCQ is not proven) but that trial was completely thrown out after they gave the participants a MUCH higher dose than the recommendation for that drug. Further studies in Belgium and Spain have shown that it could indeed have SOME effect at the right dose (ie - not going nuts with it!) but of course that’s all under peer review as well.

check out John Campbell’s video on the studies, it’s a good watch.

like I say though, I agree with what you’re trying to say, it’s just not an example that backs that up.
Yeah, I think it's just another case of some cases it works, some it doesn't.
The trial actually states this in its findings, but does highlight that placebos also had similar results.

The irony is on you my friend. I'm not the one who berates others on 'understanding science' while having wasted a lifetime on a football forum. 103051 posts. That's probably worth 2 degrees in virology that were instead invested in trivial banter.
Your vote is worth the same as mine.

The world is mental.

If ever there was a post that summarised everything wrong with the state of the world today.

Did that study include zinc in the protocol? Otherwise it would be like shooting a gun without a bullet.
A gun without or with a bullet has no evidence basis for Covid-19 prevention or cure, so stop spreading your junk cures. Thank you.

This really is a no win situation. If he dies, it will be one hot minute of fun but his legacy will live on and his politics will not suffer the defeat they should. If he survives, he’s going to milk the feck out of it and say some incredibly damaging things and could build some political capital out of it. Ugh.

I'd say there's at least a 70% chance the fella doesn't have the Covid and just wants to use it as a publicity stunt or a popularity boost to say he could beat it easily. Or maybe he wants to dodge the next debates.

Fecker will probably literally get the best medical care in the world as well, while countless of Americans are suffering from the same thing because of his selfish stupidity.

This is 2020, so I expect Donald to be assymptomatic, but have given it to Biden already who will die on November 2nd.

I share the skepticism of others here, the timing does seem a little too convenient.

If he does have it and have it bad at that too, then at least I hope this propels the idiots to actually put on a fecking mask and take this thing seriously. Too many people have died in that country.

You bet. He's 70 and known to be a total loonie meltdowner you'd think he can be so calm and rational if he knows he can potentially suffer and die!

I guess this is his bone spur moment with the debates. With one tweet, his tax returns, his debate performance, overall critique of his presidency, the upcoming debates are all gone. He’s even getting sympathy from the left, trying to be very politically correct by wishing him a speedy recovery etc.
Now he’s going to start rallies over video conference or something and give it everything to try and swing the election in his favor.

If he died, would they delay the election or would Pence just continue as is?

Pence might actually win back some independents or win over some undecided voters.

Pence would take over. There’s no provision for delaying the election.

Has a President ever died in office? (Assassinations don’t count)
4. Harrison, Taylor, Harding, FDR.

Harrison is the one who probably got sick for giving his inauguration speech out in the rain, died after a month in office.

What about the votes that have already been cast for Trump via the postal ballot? Would they just carry over to Pence’s eventual count?

Not sure everyone who voted early for Trump would necessarily be happy with that.

I don’t know but I imagine as we have the candidates confirmed they continue as is and Pence would be sworn in as President as he is first in line.

Actually I just checked and I’m wrong. Pence doesn’t take over. Apparently the RNC would have to vote on the successor and there is a huge grey area around ballots already cast. Sounds like basically endless legal battles if that happens.

It’s amazing!

The timing is potentially convenient of course, but I can’t imagine it’s made up or fabricated.
