The former top HS QB recruit in the nation and son of former NFL backup Gale Gilbert. Flopped at Texas then transferred to SMU. Some may remember him as the man that replaced Colt McCoy in the 2010 BCS Natty game when McCoy was injured in the opening drive. He didn't play terribly that night despite the state line but was no match for Alabama as a true frosh with few snaps that year (damn shame for Colt - they probably would have won with him).
