His performance isn't that good. Only his output is. Without stats and spreadsheets covering for his performance it would be even lower than 6

Out of curiosity, how do you define “performance” if not by output? Pass completion rate?

Lewandowski must be a League 2 player in your mind.

Aren't you the one who said he was on the same level as Sanchez for us (or something to that effect?) I do find it interesting how you went quiet for a while, only to re-emerge after Fernandes has an off-day.

He's the one who called Bruno a stat padder. Like all those goals and assists are basically useless to us

Here is what the poster said back in early November: "Low IQ player. Always said as soon as the penalties dry up and he isnt stats padding people will open their eyes and start realizing what exactly he is offering in open play ie absolute feck all. hasnt put a good 90 min in ages but was covering it up with penalties (mostly won by others) and getting free passes on 2/10 performances because of it.

No better than Sanchez . Only Sanchez didnt take set pieces and penalties to boost his stats."

And yes I really am that bored and really do that have so much free time on my hands that I can trawl through player performance threads...

Who cares about the stats that win you games? It's very unhealthy for our mind.

But, watching players passing the ball to each other around from 5 yards without failing is much more fulfilling.

So you are peeved about a player who actively produces tangible results? Considering Pogba can't do either at the moment what do you make of him?

This kind of "take" is absolutely baffling. He's in the team to score and assist goals.

"Without stats and spreadsheets"... you mean without all those goals and assists he'd be lower than a 6. Well, you're right there. But then he does have those goals and assists. Its kind of the point of football mate.

I think Bruno COULD be the best nr. 10 in the world, but he has one significant weakness that he needs to work on, and that´s his possessional play. His pass accuracy has to improve, and I´m not talking about missed attempts at create, forward passes, but those very simple passes that he misses on more than he should. And I also think he too easily gets dispossessed. He looks a bit careful at times, and certainly does not jump into a tackle. But then again, I guess that´s also why he´s never injured.
It's because he isn't much of a dribbler, his best quality is finding pockets of space where he could hurt other teams.

I don't think it's that binary to be honest, all players have areas in which they can improve and Bruno isn't exempt from that. His output is insane and he rightly should be the first name on the team sheet, but he does need to stop having games where he gives the ball away needlessly every time he touches it. I wouldn't go as far as the poster you're replying to, but he does have noticeably bad games once in every 3 or 4.

If in those games where it's not going well for him he just kept it simple and calmed down, as opposed to trying the killer pass every time it would facilitate us getting goals anyway. I'd go as far as saying it's the only thing holding him back from being arguably the best attacking midfielder in world football.

Whos is a better no 10 than Bruno?
To name the best nr. 10 in the world is always a subjective exercise, so I have no one I can say with certainty is better than Fernandes. My point is, however, that no matter how good he is, there is still room for improvements and Fernandes has one significant weakness he can work on.

What I said is true. His performance isnt that good hence why his rating isnt high. I dont make the rules.

You probably believe player a player that gives the ball away like 30 times per match and covers stinkers with penalties for the majority of the time is a good peformer. I dont.

No mate, some people watch the games for 90 minutes and dont rely on Opta spreadsheets to tell them who played good. If stats are the be all end all why do you watch the games? Just pull up a spreadsheet or watch highlights, you would save a lot of time

He plays football like Sanchez. Want me to lie or something?

I Keep my energy the same across the board for all players and dont favour anyone. The same way I Get onto Rashford for his 3/10 stinkers and general inconsistency. So do I hate Bruno or do I have a issue with low IQ football and poor decision making?

Our reliance on him is unreal. Different team with him on.

May he stay fit for the entire season. Every play has to pass through him first.

Just a brilliant player. As creative a player as there is around at the moment. I’ve said it before but he reminds me of when Giggs played centrally. Gives the ball away a lot but creates so much and is always looking forward first.

There aren't enough superlatives to describe the kind of an impact he has on the attack of the team. Literally everyone looks like a different player on the pitch with him on. If there was ever a player who absolutely defines the word Talisman it is him.

Should have gotten another assist as well. Someone asked me a few days ago about our forwards wasting good chances created by him.

His work rate is infectious. The presence of him on the field brings our players up another level.

Once again he was brilliant. It's unreal the influence the guy has had on the team. We looked so poor without him it's not even funny.

We may well have had players as talented as him in the post Fergie period, but the combination of that and his absurd desire to influence games is incredible.

@GifLord would love his celebration for Greenwood's goal.

Involved in all 3 goals and just completely changes the way we play. I think you could make a decent argument that he's the best player in the league at the moment. Certainly the best midfielder along with DeBruyne.
