I'm so aware of how true this is and yet I watched the pilot and never felt the urge to watch a second more.
To be fair I found the whole first season a bit bleh - not bad or anything, but I maybe laughed like 5 times through the whole thing. But yeah, if you stuck with it past that you'll probably enjoy it.

Yeah I just can't be arsed sometimes. "Get through the first 3 seasons and it gets great afterwards!" kind of thing.

I find it a bit relentlessly grim and Taylor Sheridan really needs to learn how to incorporate some humour into his shows, but it is excellent.

I also can't understand how it got panned by the critics.
Probably because most critics are just cnuts who overrate their own opinions and are always trying to be too clever.

Yeah probably not the best mark of a show I suppose. Cougar Town is another comedy like that, first season is pretty trash, and then after that it turns into a totally different show (not about Cougars) and its pretty good.

But yeah, Night Manager would be my recommendation, would echo Bosch and Friday Night Lights too. Billions is good (though now I see it as a bit Succession-lite, which is probably unfair), and Psych is decent for some brainless fun/fluff.

I remember trying Billions but finding it pretentious. I think if I already like Succession I have no need for another show in that mold. I'll take a look at the other stuff though.

Just finished watching a mini series called Anne. Based on the true story about the Hillsborough Disaster campaigner Anne Williams as she fights for justice for her son and the other victims who lost their lives that awful day.

A very gripping and heartbreaking watch. Excellent performance from Maxine Peake.
I thought it was really well done, I wasn't alive to see Hillsborough and while I am obviously a United supporter and want to see Liverpool lose on the pitch, the fight those families had to go through was criminal. I'm female so probably why, but sobbed through the last episode. There's a separate documentary if you're interested, called "The Real Anne" also on ITV.

half-way through Station Eleven now (5/10) and really enjoying this

i wasn't convinced after the first couple but it's really gone up a notch

reminds me of The Leftovers in tone, except with some good comedy thrown in too

I think the first few seasons of Billions were great, but this past season felt like it had jumped the shark. Not looking forward to the new season, without one of the main characters.

Really enjoying Panic on Amazon Prime. I'm quick to dismiss shows I can't get into but straight into this and now going to binge watch a few this evening

Kind of like Hunger Games/ Alice in Borderland/ Squid game so far with regards to the concept. First game was quite tame, but hopefully it ramps up.

Finished binging all 3 seasons of Mr Inbetween. Thought it was great. Hope there is a 4th season but not sure if it’s been confirmed or that’s it finished now?

Just finished binging Panic, it was watchable but the middle episodes were a little dull. You didn't get to see enough of the challenges, and the challenges themselves while technically dangerous were nothing compared to those in Alice in Borderland

Just binged Yellowstone 4 seasons in 4 days. Great stuff, but last seasons quality really fell off there. I also can't stand Beth character anymore and how over the top she is, was interesting at beginning but I just want her gone now. Kudos to Kelly Reilly though, brilliant acting, not her fault the character is written ridiculously.

Late to the party on this, but I've started watching Chernobyl. Don't know why it took me so long, but got to say it really is incredible so far. Only watched two episodes, but they've both been astonishing pieces of tv. The first episode in particular was a masterpiece. Just everything about it. If it keeps it up, it could leapfrog Band of Brothers as my favourite mini-series.

One of the best things I have ever watched.
Easy a 10/10 series.

I binged the first 2 seasons in a couple days, brilliant show. Not available legally in UK for seasons 3 and 4 but that's not my fault so feck em and I'm sailing the 7 seas to watch them.

I think the Beth character is pretty good actually, there are plenty of people like that in real life, more so these days. She can be annoying, but that's what people are. Maybe I'll hate her more after 4th season.

She is literally fighting/being awful to anyone at all times whether she knows them or not, anyone but the people around her that she cares for, I don't think that kind of person exist on this planet, I understand why she is doing it, her past, emotional state and all that, but they are just overdoing it too much, she is like a cartoon to me.

Snowpiercer has somehow made it onto a season three. Probably Sean Bean carrying it but the first episode came out today.

Most of the shows set in eras I don't care about like Vikings, Rome, etc..
I know it’s on your “seen some but stopped watching” list but I implore you to give Mr Robot another chance.

I gave up on it but was convinced to try again and honestly it’s one of the best shows I’ve ever watched. It’s crazy complex and requires your 100% attention but goddamit it’s so good.

Made it through 5 or 6 episodes and binned it. Awful rubbish.
Yeah it got boring real quick, the characters were shite.

That main dudes character was a schizophrenic, they couldn't seem to decide if he was supposed to be a soft shite, or some stubborn dude, or some gruff hard man.

It had some potential but they ruined it real quick.

The best character in the first season was the engineer dude who was sat in that carriage where it was cold, can't remember his name but they did feck all with him either.

About when did you give up on it? I am into season two & am struggling to keep expending time on it.

I loved S1 but struggled with early S2 especially the sitcom style dream sequence.

After I went back to it though I got through that and then towards the end of the second season onwards it really took off.
