May as well let him go on another loan next year if we can't sell. Doesn't seem as though his low intensity style will fit the new manager.

I don't disagree but, the point really was you can't call it lack of ambition.
Maybe he doesn't have what it takes mentally to make it, but its not for lack of ambition
Lack of effort. People with ambition will strive to improve. Martial is lazy as feck and didnt even bother to improve. Either he doesnt care or he's too thick to improve his game

He's lacking at the basic and that's unacceptable for 25 years old playing top level football

He did improve when he came. Along with the majority of our attackers regressed massively too.
Maybe it is because he is lazy. Maybe it was too many injuries, maybe it is something else.

Which United attacker that has spent more than 3 years with the current first team is not lacking at the basics?

Not really, don't confuse dreaming with ambition. For the latter, you back it up with effort.
Don’t confuse lack of effort with something else either. The end result not being what you want is not always down to lack of effort

They're all lazy and their off field attitude shows. Not that i care what they do outside football but it simply reinforce what we seen on field.

I'm not asking them to be ronaldo but some effort on the field goes along way. Every 50/50 could have been won with a little more passion and effort and at this level the difference between 3 points and a draw could have been paper thin. A ball won, a tackle won, a second faster, it all adds up

Professional footballer under bad management might not improve leaps and bounds but you dont simply forget how to pass 10 yards or how to move without ball. And i refuse to believe as bad as our recent manager is they dont teach you the basic.

I'm not looking for total football, just functioning EPL level football. Ive seen championship side playing with tactical discipline, even when individually they can't produce magic they perform as a team. Something we havent been doing the past 10 year.

He bulked up too much and lost his explosive pace. He is very talented but there is something wrong with him if he is not making an effort.
We give Rashford all sorts of excuses and maybe Martial was having personal problems for a while? His wife left him too so it could have been in the makings for a while?

He's had two wives leave him during his spell at United. Maybe it's just him?

No it is the same one.
Well one is called Samantha, and the other Melanie, so if they're the same person then yeah, he's got massive issues outside of his control.

Samantha: https://monacolife.net/footballer-anthony-martial-everything-changed-after-monaco-claims-wife/
Melanie: https://www.brytfmonline.com/melanie-da-cruz-announces-divorce-from-anthony-martial-on-instagram/

Samantha said:
She said: “When we split I tried to work things out. He said I only wanted him for his money.

“But he was so stingy. Anthony told me he would rent a house for me. I found one outside Paris, but when I got the keys he said he was only going to give me £3,000 a month.

“He earns £420,000 every month.

“Anthony has changed completely from the modest, shy and loving young man I met in Monaco and I firmly believe if we’d stayed there then we would still be together.”
This comment is gold digging at it's finest

Feck Ten Hag.

What we need is a combination of Patrick Jane and Cal Lightman.

These whiny ass personalities that keep popping out of our players are doing my head in.

I read someone said Martial is ambitious because he gets offended when we buy other players in his position, that's called being entitled.
An ambitious person is nothing if not a fighter, Ronaldo is ambitious, its defined by how much he is willing to give to be the best.
Good luck finding a player that is good enough to even compete with him during his younger years and his prime.
Martial acts like a spoilt kid.

I think he's delusional honestly. I believe that he really feels that what he's producing is top class and therefore he doesn't feel like he has to work any harder. Or it's the "it's everyone else at fault because I'm doing badly". Either way it's delusion.

Wonder if he'll come back with his tail between his legs now that he knows he's just not good enough.

In saying that, he probably thinks it's the fault of Sevilla.

It will be Sevilla's fault, but then again we're losing Cavani and Greenwood in the summer and that's the kind of strikerless condition Martial loves. So maybe it will be fine as long as we don't sign anyone?

Yeah, they must have played him out of position... had a bad manager... signed players that are better than he is... given him a shirt number he doesn't like...

When your boss (Joel Glazer) is comparing you to Pele and probably told you are the best player ever, it's no surprise.

Honestly at United we create our own problems. We idolise players like they are above the normal. No wonder they feel overly safe and secure at this club.

We need to be way more cutthroat. The likes of Chelsea and City don't get this problem as they know they'll be replaced next summer if they mess around.

Good point. Five good games and we start comparing them to the best players in the world.

Martial's issue has never been ability. He's got everything required to be a world class player. All except one thing. Desire.

One of those players who's 'head', so to say and a lack of application will be his undoing. He'll probably get lost somewhere in football wilderness.

Or he'll get a new contract at United.

He's done physically and most likely will retire soon after his current United contract.

Ten Hag's pre-season training regimen has been described as "nasty" by his former players, so I'm guessing Martial will have a mysterious injury that keeps him out of it.

Can’t wait to see Martial reunite with Rashford to lead our attack line next season.

I think a loan back to Ligue 1 might be on the cards for him. Can't see another league thinking he's worth the risk after the Sevilla loan

Only positive is he wants out. The onus will be on him and his agent to find a club that will match his ridiculous salary. When this inevitably fails, he’s looking at a pay cut to move or pissing his career away in our reserves until his contract expires in which case he’s getting an even bigger pay cut.
