Easy to blame the pitch but our passing has been horrific this half and precisely the reason I think despite all ETH efforts, he can’t polish a turd and some of these players are not at a level to be relied upon for a season.
That’s a daft take when you look at the playing conditions

We need some players on who can keep the ball. Malacia, Zidane

Commentators should be fined every time they say "still going strong" when an old player comes on.

Benefit of the doubt with the passing from both sides. The pitch is a disaster. The ball isn't running well on it at all.

De Gea closed his eyes and looked away coming out for that corner for feck's sake

This was nothing to do with the actual scenario. There could be 0 back or they could be 5 back. Lindelof is resorting to what he does, back pedal passively instead of trying to take control. It’s what he ALWAYS does no matter what. Open your eyes, how much more evidence do people need before they conclude he’s nowhere near good enough

Conditions only partly to blame for this drop off. Ball is bouncing off Sancho and Bruno is somehow wasting the ball even more.

Why are we hitting Hollywood balls from defence to attack? They’ve gone into last season mode.

This is just about Villa’s endeavour in a game that means feck all……

Absolute class defending from Maguire,

Looked like a deliberate foul on DDG for that corner, does need to be stronger though

Not a good watch second half but at least Ten Hag can see now first hand some of the issues which have plagued us in recent times

He's absolutely awful, one of the worst regular CBs we've ever had.

Like last year we cannot rely on Shaw as LB. I have noticed so many times when he plays many times our left becomes so open and end up in dangerous situations.

May be its bad coordination between maguire and shaw or whatever. But left side defending is a huge concern. Hope martinez will solve the problem.
